Google Pixel 2 & Pixel XL 2 battery size? - General Questions and Answers

Just wondering if anybody has caught wind of what the battery sizes will be on the new Pixel 2 & Pixel XL 2?
I currently own the Nexus 5x. I love the phone, but the battery life SUCKS! I was tempted to buy the Pixel XL but I heard the Pixel 2 was being released soon. I'm sure they improved on the battery I just don't know by how much.
Thx,

Performance Pixel XL - 5.5-inch vs Pixel 5-inch

Question. I have the pixel XL and and have the pixel 5-inch on order (pending). I was wondering if anyone has had both sizes of the phone in hand and can comment if there is a performance difference. I have read in some reviews that it is suspected the 5-inch would have a slight advantage because of the smaller 5-inch 1080p screen compared to the 5.5. screen of the XL. I just wanted to know if anyone on XDA has actually looked at this and can make any comments.
Thanks!!
I can't comment to this but would love to hear your answer once your order is filled.
I have both because I couldn't decide which one I wanted when ordering, and performance wise there's no difference at all between them. While my battery percentage was a little higher at the end of the day when using the XL both easily make it through a day for me with juice to spare. I've actually been using the regular Pixel more because the performance is the same but it's so much nicer to carry around. Every morning I tell myself I'll take the XL with me today but it's the regular Pixel that's been coming along with me in my pocket. Since both are still under the return window I'm pretty sure it's the XL that's going back to Goog. This is all coming from a guy who used the Nexus 6 as his main device for the last two years too! I still love my Shamu and the XL feels more like a big phone than a good phablet to replace it with. So for the next year I will swap SIMs between regular Pixel and the N6 for when I want something nice to carry around daily or want a good phablet when travelling for a few days without a laptop.

Pixel 2 or 2 xl?

Just wondering of any of you think there is a huge difference between the 2 and 2 xl besides the obvious being size. I'm really torn between the two and especially since the 2 is around 130 cheaper. Can any of you give me a little insight on what you think the best route I should take. I'm currently using a moto x pure which has a 5.7 inch screen.
Unlike the S9 vs. S9+ The Pixel 2 and 2XL are identical internally (CPU, memory, Camera, features, functionality) and the only difference IS the screen and the bezels; the 2XL looking more modern with much smaller bezels. I would suggest going to your local store and getting a feel for both and pick the one you like the most.. Me personally, I found the 2XL a little too big and preferred the size of the 2.
RE: Online complaints of the 2XL having blue shift screen issues when viewing at an angle.. Please disregard those complaints. This has been confirmed to improved and on par with other devices for some time now.

Funny thing is that I've personally had just as good battery life on my pixel 2 as my panda

I was in the same boat but went for the Pixel 2, the bigger screen wasnt a big deal for me. Battery life on the pixel for me is great seeing its only a 2700 gets me more than a day with medium use.
there the cost factor too...so all depends on what your requirements are
I would go get a feel as pointed out above and make a choice...

If your planning to install Custom roms, the XL has more support currently.

No I know, just saying
I'd like that 3520mAh battery, but I prefer the smaller phone, and going from 75% to 30% battery, I get more than the 11 hours a day I need with the 2700mAh battery. Maybe if I had the push to run a more useful ROM and ran the clock down lower (the phone's fast enough for me on battery saver from turn-on to turn-off [come on, Google - make that stick through restarts]) I'd get even more life. (I plan on running this until Android S, at least, so I'd like 4 years of battery life.) But I don't need the extra half inch poking me in the side (I always use an Otterbox Defender).
Luv my XL 2 for the size, custom roms, kernels, etc

Marvel Contest of Champions Oneplus6 vs Pixel 2 XL (Graphics)

Hello Guys
Before the OP6 I owned a Google Pixel 2 XL...
So I love the OP6 and sold the Pixel but one thing is disturbing:
I play a lot of Marvel Contest of Champions. And i recognised that one the Pixel there is/was much more eyecandy on the graphics ingame. But the two phones got almost the same hardware in it. So there is the question: How can I get the grahics on the OP6 more like on the Pixel?
Thanks in Advance
Is there not a setting in the game you can adjust for graphics? Also the Pixel XL 2 has a 2k resolution and OP6 only 1080 so maybe the resolution is affecting the quality of what you're seeing.

Considering buying a Pixel 2 XL - Pros and Cons? Anyone compared it to P20 Pro?

Hi,
I am a Nexus 6P owner and had been holding out for the P3, but the prices for it are too expensive for me.
As such my two options at the moment are the Huawei P20 Pro or the Pixel 2XL.
My main gripes with the Nexus 6P were:
Battery issues - I had the early shutdown problem at 30%. it got fixed by Huawei, but 5 months later I can see evidence it's happening again.
Bluetooth in Car - My car stereo (Alpine CDE-133BT) used to be able to control the phone to skip tracks but doesn't any more, not sure if this was after the update to Oreo.
Lag - I had to turn off animations in an attempt to speed things up.
Camera - Despite able to take some great quality shots, it became quite laggy opening the camera up to take a photo, missed a few shots because of it.
Ive noticed a few forums discussing recent lag, and battery issues after upgrading to Pie, which is concerning for me if I'm soon to buy.
Camera quality and speed of shots is important to me, as well as battery life.
Would the Pixel 2 XL still be a good buy for me? Would be interested to hear from those who have had experience with the P20 Pro too, on how it compares as a phone.
Thanks
if camera quality and speed of shots is important to you then you will hate the p20 pro. i tried to switching from my pixel 2 to the p20 pro and i just couldnt do it. the 20 is capable of taking some amazing photos but it is horribly inconsistent....at least thats my opinion..
I think I will make the same decision between this two. I am currently using iPhone 6 and it is time for change. Pixel 3, iPhone X’s this are too expensive phones for me. Camera quality is important to me. My only issue with pixel is 4gb ram. I am afraid of this phone to become laggy in few months.

I've had the Pixel 2 since April with no noticeable change of speed

I've bought pixel 2XL and had really bad experience with it's screen. I ended up exchanging XL for the smaller brother and have no regrets! I have black Pixel 2 128gb. An amazing phone it is!!!
I have a ZTE Axon 7 (Nexus 5 before that) .. and it is time to change ... but I am put off a bit by the high Pixel 3 pricepoint - whereas the Pixel 2 has seen a pretty good discount in many markets .... can see it in Google Store (UK) for 479 pounds or a few (non-Google) sites in France for around 520 Euros.
As a number of reviews seem to say that the difference between the 2 and 3 is not worth to upgrade ... would I be happy with a Pixel 2 ?
Everything I read is that it is a great device ...

Switching from a pixel 2 xl

Hey guys I m switching from a pixel 2 xl and looking for something cheaper. Would you guys recommend a pixel 3 a or pixel 3a xl?

Depends on what you want. The phones are more or less identical, the only major differences are the size and battery - the 3a XL is bigger in both.
If you're currently having the Pixel 2 XL and are OK with the size, then go for the 3a XL. If you would like to switch to a smaller phone, then go for the ordinary 3a.
I'd wait till the Pixel 4 is released in mid-Oct. You might find that Google offers some decent trade in values for your Pixel 2 XL. Or discount the 3 series even further than it is now ($300 off).
As noted, the screen and battery are about the only things better on the 3a XL. You've lived with the 2 XL screen this long, so it must not bother you too much. A few more weeks won't make a difference.
If you want a cheaper phone, you could definitely switch over to a 3a or 3a xl. I went with the 3a because i got tired of having a big phone( 2xl) and I got also annoyed of having to carry a headphone jack adapter. I only miss the faster snapdragon processor. The battery life on the 2xl was terrible too. I do miss the actual front speakers on the 2xl. Can't go wrong with the 3a though. It gets me through the day.
Either would work

Either works; the 3a is smaller than the S7 or newer (I came from the S7). Also, it has a longer SOT than the S7 and charges faster than the S7 as well. Here's a shocker - the S7 charges faster using the 3a's charger than using its own charger; however, the 3a charges faster yet. (That means it is NOT a fault in the S7's charger.)

I am on a bit of a budget to be honest. I can't buy a phone out right and knowing Google it's going to be very expensive.

And for me personally I want to try the 3A XL because it's a better option for me and I have to spend less money. They only gripe I have with the phone is that does not have the image processing chip my 2XL has.

I have a pixel 2 XL which is on its deathbed as well. So you think I should just go for the regular 3A?

Why would you switch from a pixel 2xl to a 3a or 3axl?? I don't think so it is a very smart idea

I never missed headphone jack, guess i adopted to this trend way too early. Pixel 2xl battery life is quite good for me and does the job. Cheaper, yeah but then if you already have 2xl why would you spend extra money?
