[solved] if phone completely died solution is here - LG G Flex 2

so my lg flex 2 h955 is completely died (no power up, no led indication, no charging, pc not recognizing)
I followed this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgCFEpw_RC4&t=595s
and he was alive!
I recommend:
1. do not return the metal plate to the place where it was
(why?)
(i dont NO but phone work better)
2. do not return the screws again
(again why?)
( if you screw them up again there is a possibility that the phone will died again... it's stupid, but it's true trieste to me)
tips:
if your phone died again I recommend reincarnation same as on clip but the process lasts longer than the first time

I had the same problem I slept on my phone, woke up to a call to answer it suddenly the phone automatically shutdown, tried powering on again the it comes on and 5-10 sec it cut off won't come back on unless i open it and remove the battery cap for a while and it would do the same again power on to load 5-10 it shutoff again....... I took the cap of again and try to get it into downloader mode which it did while reloading os through LG FlashTool 2014 it power off again the same amount of times....... My solution was remove the motherboard because so far I considered it a goner but I had one more trick up my sleeve, so I reheated the GPU and motherboard as hot as possible with a heat gun on a piece of paper using the paper to determine when it getting to the limit but trying to avoid melting the plastic connectors then I left it cool came back and mount it up. It power on and worked ever since.

[Q] Issues powering up phone

Back story:
There was some water damage to begin with. Went wading when I was fishing and forgot the [phone was in my pouch by my chest. Buddie's lure gets stuck and since I'm tallest I help him retrieve it forgetting the phone is there. I turn it off and throw it in rice for a day, come back and turn it on and it works fine.
Fast forward 2 months, I'm camping and the phone is working fine. I shut it off to charge it and later I come to I see the battery percentage at 45% so I unplug it and try to turn it on, no go. Get into the car, plug it into the car charger and I get the battery charging screen but that's it. Phone vibrates when I plug it in and doesn't turn on. I eventually get it to boot back into android os but as soon as I pulled the charging cable out it shut off. At this point I figure it's the stuck power button so I bang the **** out of the phone and still the same. Then I'm like, possibly sudden death? Nope, I'm still able to get the phone to boot into download mode no problem.
Now I decide to clean the logic board. I take the phone apart, soak the logic board in 99% iso alcohol and clean it with a tooth brush. Remove all the gunk and stuff the water left behind, let it dry and put it back together I even mess with the power button to get it unstuck with the tweezer method. The phone still doesn't boot up so I try the GFs battery from her S3 and the same thing. So I decide to put it into download mode and Odin back to stock firmware, previously I was running stock firmware but rooted thought I could have updated with OTA and messed something up. At this point I can get it to boot into android os 90% of the time but applications crash and whatnot. But the phone will only power up if it is plugged into the outlet.
Do you guys think the logic board done for? I have no idea what else I can do to it.

[Q] (Q) Water damage Moto G

So my Moto G fell in the water for like 5 seconds, and then I was stupid and turned him on after 10 minutes. Well the screen worked but speakers, camera and headset plugin we're defect. So then I putted him in a bag of rice for a day, but now he won't start up, he doesn't shows the 3 white leds. Is it the 0% bug?
Sorry for bad English.

if you are sure it is 100% dry, then plug it in the charger and hold the power button for 2-3minutes. the white led should blink few times. leave it charging for an hour and than unplug it and hold the button and it should turn on.
Ive seen people put their Moto G in water for 30+ minutes, and it was fine. That nano protecting coating is supposed to help.
How long did you put the phone in rice ? It s at least 24h, and even 48h in several cases. Did you take off back cover and sim card ?
Other solution : put your phone in classic (not microwave ! :-/) hoven (not sure of the english word) during 15 minutes at low temperature : 60 to 70 degrees max.
Already tried this tips with a Motorola Milestone 2 and it worked.
Good luck.

Take off the battery cover and dry it out if you haven't already.
This girl put it inside the water for a full 30 minutes, and if your phone fell in for 5 seconds im pretty dam sure it could live.

I like the phone. But guys, it's misleading! My phone didn't even survive 5 seconds. Don't trust that videos. Or try it out yourself. Hmm, now it's in the charger and the white led is constantly on. But I can't swich him on.

I think you made a big mistake by turning it on after 10 minutes, might have caused a short circuit......
I also think that. But that G that in the water was for 30 minutes survived. But guys, don't buy him with the intention that he's almost water proof. I did that
I think I'll contact the customer support, and maybe they say to just buy a new one, and that they will refund the old one. If that works I'm happy.
I can't send the link, the're afraid of spam. That sucks.
TheGerben, did you manage to solve your problem? I did the same... I drop my phone into water for like 5 sec, two days ago... and now I can't switch it on... not sure what to do...
I think I've just killed my Moto G!!
I accidental put it in the washer whilst it was in the pocket of a pair of jeans , stopped the washing machine before it ever went on any fast cycles and pulled the Moto G out to find it still alive.
The battery showed near flat from what previously would have been a 3/4 full battery, and a red line was shown over a picture of a sim card on the display also.
I powered down the phone and took the back off where the phone was sodden inside the back over the battery etc and gave it a wipe down and stuck the phone over the exhaust of my dehumidifier.
Now when I've gone to turn the Moto G back on it won't fire backup into life, and when I plug the charger in the white led blinks as though it's charging.

if you are 100% sure it is completely dry (if not put it in a bag filled with rice for a day or two), try the following:
-plug it in the charger
-hold power button 2-3min
-leave it charging for an hour
-unplug it
-hold power button for 30seconds
-it should boot

I dried the most of the water out using the dehumidifier, but now as I type this reply the Moto G is sealed in a tupa ware tub with a moisture bag where it's going to be left till tomorrow night before going back on charge.
Ok, so it's less than 25 hours away since I gave my Motorola Moto G a little wash in my washer at around 7pm last night, I dried the phone mostly by towel and placed it on the exhaust of my dehumidifier for an hour.
Next the Moto G was placed minus back cover and sim card in an air tight Tupperware tub with a bag of absorbent crystals where it stayed there until 10am this morning.
When I took the Moto G out of the tub, I put it on charge and held the power button as suggested on this thread for around 3 minutes when the phone was put first on charge.
Whilst doing this the Moto G's white led light would blink every so often.
The Moto G must have only been on charge barely 15 minutes before it sprang back into life by itself buzzing and bleeping away with notifications as I'd left it WiFi enabled.
So yes my Moto G is back very much alive!!
First test indicates both front and back cameras work fine with no mist, all my settings, apps and messages are still as they were.
The phone now has the sim card placed back in which works fine, the rest of the phone appears to be 100% working although as I type this, I have still yet to make a phone call with it!
Update
Within an hour of the Moto G working again I noticed the sim card fault symbol where the signal band indicator should be, I then powered down the phone and tried to boot it up agin.
.It was dead!!
I took the back off and ragged out the sim card which had moisture on it, this meaans that I hadn't managed to get r'id of all the water inside the Moto G!!
I nipped out to the pound shops for a precision screwdriver set to take the Moto G apart.
Whilst out at the shops I contemplated getting a new sim free Moto G at £159.99 from Argos, but saw "this item is excluded from our 30 day money back guarantee" noted so I turned away without one.
This because if I could get my Moto G working perfectly again, it would be pointless and would have a struggle returning the new Moto G back to Argos if I didn't need it.
Anyway, I returned home and got busy taking the inner back casing off my Moto G to be greeted by globules of water inside.
I wiped off the excess water with kitchen towel and I have place the phone back on the exhaust of my dehumidifier for 30 minutes.
I will post back with updates once I' think the phone has dried out enough to try putting back together and placing it back on charge etc.
Same problem different solution
First of all.. I have dropped my Moto G in the toilet.. 5 seconds later i was blowing water (clean thankfully ) out of every orifice i could find, simcard.. jack, paper towels everywhere and a kind of a wierd panic dance.
I tried to Off the device but the cycle of death (On->bootloader->Off) had begun, with no tools to get to the battery (thanks for the innovative way not to get near the battery Motorola) i just watched as the overheated battery was pulled into the abyss.
Long story short, i got to this thread.. after trying everything I saw here to no avail, got to a hardware store bought a 6$ worth of tools and hands trembling opened the patient up. and this is the exact sequence of actions taken.
-Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.
-Inserted a high amperage charger (5V-3A) (back cover and second back cover off)
-Success.. the 0% screen apeared.. the front faced led started to work (~30sec pulse)
-Unpluged the charger
-Connected back the battery to the motherboard.
-Inserted the charger back
Success..0% screen after a while the M screen (android signed) and then the 0% again (a sign it was charging OK)
After a while (pressed the On/Off button with a credit card no metal near the phone ) i saw the 1%.. after 25 minutes of letting it alone to charge pressed again the On/Off and it boothed into Android.. 12% charged..
After it charged to about 30% switched to a USB charge method for a much lower amp and it's still charging as I write this (34%)
So again thanking Moto for the difficult way to get to the battery, i will advise you to try my method also if everything else fails.
Get creative of have a (low priced) brick for a door stop.
Honestly if you drop it in water for any amount of time.
Take the back cover off.
Remove the screws that make the battery a pain to actually remove and disconnect like a normal phone.
Disconnect the battery from the board and place it in a bowl of rice for a week...yes a week, 7 days...lol
After 7 days plug the battery back in and charge it.
It more than likely is fine.
Most of what I've read here is people doing more damage to their phone while there is still moisture in it causing a short.
I don't even mean to sound harsh, but any moisture plus power equals short. =)
phone saved?
Okay well i dropped my phone in the bath (experiment), and it was fine until 30 minutes later, when the battery ran out and low and behold, it didn't turn on again. Well i went through the typical procedures, in rice in the airing cupboard i even got talcum powder got on to the device, small amount by mistake. The phone would go to the charging screen and reboot and then be back in the charging screen. A continual loop, but always stuck on 0 percent. Week i bought a new battery and charged for an hour or two and after i held down power button got a white light notification, held down the power button for longer and finally it started booting again. This was after no reactions from the new battery at all for his and different charges and my PC USB port. Guess it needed extra time to change up. Anyway I'm writing this from my newly salvaged moto g 4g, that has 64% charge and still going after around 4 hours, it's looking promising! I haven't disconnected my phone from the charger yet, so we'll see but good so far.
So yeah check eBay for a new battery, it may kick your phone into life.
Man xda plaster those Ads forcefully in the centre of the screen on mobile, sank kind of degrades the experience!

[Q] HTC 8x stuck and rebooting after logo screen

Hello,
Had a perfectly fine HTC 8x till this morning. Then the pet at home chewed on the USB cable while the phone was charging .. I suspect the power cables may have shorted with the data cables. In any case, now the phone is totally dead when the charger is disconnected. If I reconnect the charger (new cable) then the phone vibrates, afer that the screen lights up for about 10 seconds with the HTC logo and then it switches off - it keeps doing this till the time I remove the charging cable. The Red charging LED does not come on at any time. I have tried the hard reset with Vol down and power key etc. and that did not work. Any help to revive the phone would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks & regards

I bought one listed for parts on ebay a while back that would do a constant boot loop. what i did was buy a cheap phone tool kit 2$ off ebay as well. removed the rear shell on the phone. dang phone is held with sticky adhesive. its take a minute to separate the housing and screen. if you have watched those videos on youtube where there using a blow drier to heat the plastic to take the phone apart is completely nuts. It only takes patients and dont force it . then disconnected the battery. 2 whole screws. woo hoo.. i couldn't do the hard reset either because the phone woudnt charge in off-mode. just constant boot loop. i had no choice to battery pull. strange thing was the charging light would always stay on even when it was unplugged. once the battery had been disconnected from the pcb it hasn't had any problems.

[SOLVED] Disconnect the battery from the phone for few seconds
Problems faced:
1. Boot Loop
2. Factory Reset using Phone buttons never worked, tried everything and never ever got the " ! " icon
3. Phone keeps restarting showing the HTC logo without "quietly brilliant" ( if you don't see that probably not going to boot the OS)
4. Phone does not work at all unless connected to phone charger
SOLUTION:
After trying almost every possible thing i got this to make it work.
1. Open the back cover ( you will need a hair dryer, check YouTube)
2. Unscrew just the two screws at the bottom of your phone and disconnect the clip-pin thingy (this connects the battery to the phone) for a few seconds. ( it has a metallic cover kinda thing)
Press the power button and your phone will go back to normal.
Make sure you connect anything that gets disconnected in the process... they are quite strong so dont worry, nothing will break or cut off, but do be careful.
hi there ok i found a solution you need to take the cover off and the plug in the charger because a button is stuck
there is only 2 screws you need to unscrew and boob it works

MY CASE... I've posted a thread explaining that...
This procedure works.. but in my case not at 100% fine... cause i can't insert back the sim card since the bootloops return if i do it...
That left us with a software issue i've not been able to solve yet...
Best regards...

G Flex 2 keeps shutting down

I recently dropped my phone on the ground and the glass is now broken. But it worked normally for about 14 days. Then suddenly one day at work it shut down on its own. After that I wasn't able to start it. No reaction for any of the buttons, nor their combinations. Even when I plugged the charger in, no sign of life. I thought it's over.
Then the next day, I plugged the charger in and the screen with 0% battery appeared. So I left it charging, but when I came back to it (20 minutes) it was dead again. Not even the diode indicating it is charging. Again no response for the buttons, nothing. So I tried to disassemble it, disconnected everything. Put it together and viola! The screen indicating 0% battery was there again. I left it like that for a while, and when it was charged a little, I tried to start it. It started and normally worked. At least it seemed to, but after a while (1 - 3 minutes) while I was using it, it went to the dead phone again.
So I discovered, that when I disconnect the battery for a while and then connect it again, I am able to boot the phone. I was even able to do factory reset. I thought I got it and that it was some software fault. However after like 5 minutes (it downloaded all apps, logged to my google account, looked all ok) the screen shut down again and again the phone played dead.
Now I have the phone booted, and charging (almost 100% now). But I guess when I start using it again, it will again go to the dead mode (since it did it everytime after I used it a little, no specific action done, totally random).
I guess it has to be related to the broken glass. Maybe some water or humidity got through it and the phone is trying to save itself from damage by going to the dead mode. It's weird because sometimes (like now) the phone is OK when not used, normally chraging and not shutting down (now it's ON for about 40 minutes), but if it shuts down, it takes about 3 or 4 battery disconnect and connect again, before it boots to the main screen. Sometimes it just dies before the screen, sometimes it dies when I try to plug the charger in, really no idea what causes it.
How should I diagnose it? USB debugging and check the log when using it and when it dies? Or has anyone experienced this too? Or could the battery be damaged? Or can I somewhere set the phone to prevent from selfkilling actions? Today I will try my main board in my friends G Flex 2, to see if it's the board, or something else.

Adding the error log from console
OK so it was probably mother board fault, so I had to buy a new phone It is like 3 months, and I just yesterday accidentally poured some water on it, so i destroyed another one. It is still in warranty but I guess with water damage there is no warranty. Anyone knows where to find all the water damage indicators? Or is it even possible to make it look like there was no water damage?

(Help)Hard bricked U11

Never thought I would run into this moment that I need to ask for help on the forum, but I guess this is my last hope.
Here's the story:
I was on Oreo firmware and thinking of going back to Nougat because there are some apps only work on Nougat at this moment and I overall prefer Nougat design.
My phone was on S-off so I thought it would be perfectly fine for me to just flash Nougat firmware then flash the Nougat rom I desired like the good old days.
So then I launched Sunshine app, passed the compatibility test and the phone rebooted to download mode with S-off shown, everything was working fine so far.
And here was the problem happened, I typed in the command"fastboot flash zip firmwareXXX.zip".
Terminal showed error needs to reboot and flash again immediately as normal, the phone rebooted but never come back to download mode.
Now it only stays on black screen, if I tilt the phone a bit I can see the backlight glowing.
I've tried hard reset by holding power and volume down, it will reboot but still stays on black screen, neither system nor bootloader is accessible.
Even plugging to the computer detects nothing, not even QHSUSB_BULK mode.
However, the phone is able to charge though, I hook up the usb cable with a digital meter and it shows 5 volts and 0.5 amp.
I'm running out of solutions, I've searched through the entire forum and see no one has the similar experience.
This is the first time I hard brick a phone, been a loyal HTC user since good old Desire HD days.
If anyone has experience or solution for this, a kindly help is appreciated, thanks!

Have you held the power and volume down button both together for exactly 1 minute,
I have a u11 that took for ever to reboot with corrupt os youll notice the capacative buttons start flash if its doing something or going to reset after about 30 seconds if not and nothin happens
Take the backing off and unplug the battery,
To do this heat the backing up with a hair dryer and get some really fine guitar picks, work your way arround slowly, in my case the U11 was not glass backed only plastic and was original backing ive heard they are glass now though so be careful,
Now with the backing off and exposed, take all of the 5 or 6 screws out from the plastic ariel cover with NFC chip attached (chip is gold bend it up off battery it is not glued down)
Then from the left of the device at the bottom of the plastic cover with ncf chip on it you should see a slight gap where the vibration motor is located and sits
Get a rounded pair of tweezer and insert just the tip into the opening and very carefully pry it up, it make take a while as some of the adhesive from the backing will be holding it down,
After that is off you have now exposed the devices PCB,
From the battery youll see the connector making its way to the PCB port disconnect it and reconnect it now try to boot directly to download mode with
Power
Volume down
Both at the same time, if this did not work the disconnect the battery again and wait 24hrs for the static electricity to disperse and try again, had this work on a completely frozen unresponisve evo 10 and u11 + and also my U11
Still no luck id say the emmc on the board has gone haywire either that or possibly one of the thermal transistors has blown in which youll see either black and burnt or white and powdery,
Im a phone tech you shouldnt have any problems doing all this just take your time,
Good luck mate

I've tried holding volume down and power buttons both for around 5 mins, no capacitive button blinking.
However I can tell the phone reboots several times during the procedure by seeing the backlight goes black and light up.
And about the reconnect battery route, I guess I'll just do it anyway, since the repairing price might be the same as buying a new one.
Thanks for the reply, mate!

And about the reconnect battery route, I guess I'll just do it anyway, since the repairing price might be the same as buying a new one.
Thanks for the reply, mate!

Sounds like the logic board is trying to initialize but there isnt sufficient power to boot it,
its kinda like when you take the battery out of a phone then plug it on to charge without a battery and there is nothing but a lit up black screen and nothing else happens as theres not enough power to boot, this sounds the same to me as there are no red or green light after the orange when plugged in,
Get a hair dryer and heat the back of the phone up a few times and then plug it into charge to see if you cant boost the cells back to life, do this a few times,
If no change id most certainly suggest removing your back cover and unplugging and replugging the battery, once unplugged leave it for a few minutes, then plug back this will refresh the chips (especially emmc as this contains your entire system and bootloader, including download mode, RUU mode)
as soon as battery is reconnected plug it in on charge and try to boot it to download mode straight away also look for any change in the batteries light colour and any blinking,
the orange light when first plugged in is normal but should blink once or twice only then change to a solid red for discharged and charging or solid green green when near on 100% charged
If the above does not work disconnect the battery for 24 hours and try again, this will fully drain any static electricity in the device that may be lingering,
If still nothing after the 24 hours buy an OEM battery from ebay and install yourself, once you have the back cover off youll see the battery takes up 3/4 of the phones actual internal size,
Same as the back cover get your hair dryer place a shamwow or thick cloth over the PCB board then heat the battery up (NOT TO MUCH THOUGH only so its hot to the touch), then with the really thin guitar picks again (they should be bendable easily and flexible) work your way around the battery to cut through the adhesive securing it down,
CAUTION be very very careful the adhesive is strong keep the battery heated at all times to avoid pericing the battery and or damaaging the lcd as this is what its secured to, just take your time and work slowly do not force it out, once all the adhesive is cut it will remove easily by using the guitar pick insert between battery and housing and gently turn the pick from left to right and will pop out, (you will see the battery move when using pick from left to right if not you havent cut the adhesive properly work around the battery once again until you get movement from it)
Sorry for the long reply haha but dont send it to htc they are absolute rubbish hope this helps ive tried to be as detailed as i can its actually alot harder trying to explain it than it actually is to do it
