Hi, I have a rooted Exynos Note 8 Duos on Nougat (7.1.1) connected to a Win 7 Ultimate x64 PC
Every time I connect the phone via USB to the PC I get a nag screen on the phone asking me to "allow access to phone data"...and it's exasperating. I'm also aware that if I were ever to accidentally click DENY, then it's a pain to resolve that issue.
I'd like to get rid of the "allow data" nag/prompt and always allow data access from the PC in question.
I believe I have the latest samsung and adb drivers.
The "allow" screen once accepted on a different PC does not return.
I have USB debugging enabled AND I have already asked the phone to remember the PC and not ask for debugging permission again. (Generating the RSA key).
I believe the problem is that I use a sync program called birdiesync for syncing mail and calendars to thunderbird on the PC. Birdiesync is installed on PC and on Device.
Birdiesync (PC) comes with its own version of ADB.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\BirdieSync\Android\Adb\1.0.26\adb.exe
...Which is in addidtion to the one used buy Android Studio (also installed)
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe
Tried revoking the USB debug RSA keys and restarting ADB server then reconnecting and I get the initial allow USB debugging popup with the remember option

, which I allow. I additionally get the generic nag screen which pops under the primary one figB.
...which I also allow but which will return on every USB disconnect/reconnect.
Do I need to copy/move the RSA key on device to a different folder?
Can anybody help?
Cheers
Samsung Smart Switch - Allow Data - No more nagging
I resolved the issue by installing "Samsung Smart Switch" on the PC then connecting the phone once. Pressing "allow data" then disconnecting and uninstalling Samsung Smart Switch. Not sure what this program did...but it worked.
It's not a graceful solution. I can only assume some part of either ADB or USB drivers got updated with the install and allowed a proper RSA key to be generated on the phone.

I may be doing something wrong... I'm following the steps on this thread but after Treo enters the boot loader I'm not able to establish a ActiveSync connection between my computer (Windows 7) and Treo.
The only thing that appears as remotely related to Treo is the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" that is connected to "Microsoft USB Sync", as shown in the images below.

And I find weird as it reports Qualcomm CDMA Technologies even though I have a GSM phone.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
go to settings - connections - usb2pc and disable fast data sync (or advanced data transfer)
and reconnect the phone
try this

McDoPDA, after ur device enter 3 colour screen, unplug it from USB before pressing next on the update utility, plug it to different USB and wait for windows to discover it again, when it will say new device is ready to use press next in the update utility...

is it same problem as above ?
No I don't think it's related with the other errors and disabling Advanced Data Transfer didn't help either.
I just want to know if I'm in the right path.
I have exactly the same problems...
I've managed to install CMONEX HardSPL
I've successfully managed to install CMONEX HardSPL.
The steps on the cmonex's original post are correct, however it fails to mention that you will not be able to establish an ActiveSync connection, but the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" connected to "Microsoft USB Sync" in, in fact, what you should wait for.
The installation on my Treo was successful as the pictures below can attest.
Managed to flash Hard SPL
Just relax!! You should wait till your computer find the driver for Qualcomm CDMA at windows download center (so you should have a live internet connection at the time) it will take a while, but after that, you can flash the SPL without any problem.
If your operation system fail to find the driver, just delete the ?Unknown device from control panel->system->devices and reconnect the usb cabel, after that check if it search for the driver. that's it.
No It wont
I have the same problem Palm Treo pro and even after the CDMA driver loads I still get a communications error I have done every thing I can think of to get it to work but it will not
Directly after phone goes into bootloader mode (tri-color screen), unplug sync cable and immediately plug it back in. Do this before you start clicking thru the Rom Update Utility menus..
Someone please help
I’ve been using ADB for awhile on my Windows 7 and it use to work perfectly without any problem. However recently, whenever I connect my phone (HTC Desire HD) to my PC, I don’t know why Window suddenly freezes after few minutes (varies between 1 to 7 min) and I have no option but to restart by pulling the plug.
Any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks and any advice/help will be highly appreciated,
USBDview is a free application from the NirSoft range and allow you to not only view the USB devices connected to your PC, and give you valuable information like VendorID, ProductID but also gives the power usage of the USB device. This can be at times good for troubleshooting any USB issues as they maybe power related.

Use it's free and remove all what you see when you use it. Then reboot the system.

Hi, all.
After the last big windows update, my Galaxy S7 MTP connection stopped to work. It was working like a charm before. Now the driver is not recognized by Windows and there's no way in hell to transfer a file via cable from my PC.
Here are some shots:

There's no KIES anymore, tried Smart Switch from Samsung, didn't work because my Windows 10 is version N, without Media Pack.
Strangely I can't find over the internet any mention to this problem.
Anyone there to give me a hand on this?
Tried updating the driver?
http://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
Uninstall that unrecognised one if it lets you first
It's possible it's not the phone driver causing the problem too, chipset/USB?
Also try this program "Ghostbuster"
https://ghostbuster.codeplex.com/
1. Disconnect phone
2. Right click an entry of each section and choose "Add Class"
3. Once all sections are highlighted, hit "Remove ghosts" at the bottom right
It might restart the program again as Administrator without removing them first time around, if so just hit remove ghosts again
Reboot the machine and connect the phone

Thanks for your reply.
I've tried this driver before, it didn't work. It's also quite outdated (2015).
Ghostbuster was a nice touch, I didn't know this one. It has not fixed the problem, but it's another tool to try in the future problems that I face. I will try to find a different computer to connect to.
In the meanwhile, I'm relying on Resilio/Airdroid sort of solutions, but Wifi is a lot slower for files over 4GB, which are usually my kind of transfer.

Greetings XDA members.
All the progress I've made so far is based on Q&A from your site, so thank you right from the begining.
So here's what I've managed to do so far, starting with the device details:
LG G8S stock ROM (not rooted and boot loader still locked)
Downloaded Total Commander and accessed the root directory
Found two apk files named MirrorLinkServer, apk (the first in /product/app/mirrorlinkserver/ and the second in /system,/product/app/mirrorlinkserver/) - I'm Adding a screenshot of the search results down below
Installed both apk files (each after a factory reset to avoid duality or any other kind of interference)
Got the same result in both cases - When connecting phone to the cars USB outlet, the USB indicator at the notifications bar start flashing but nothing happens (phone screen or car screen)
When disconnecting - a mirrorlink menu appears showing the apps installed but saying they're not authenticated - I'm Adding a screenshot down below
If I'm trying to hit the back button the phone goes to settings but the mirrorlink menu doesn't show there
If I'm plugging the phone back to the car USB socket the "Connect via USB cable" option is trying to switch on automaticlly but goes back off and on again in an endless loop
Hitting the apps trying to authenticate them is doing nothing at all.
when I'm checking the mirrorlink server app in phones settings - It says under Permissions: "No permissions requested"
I believe that here lies the problem - meaning that if i could grant the mirrolink server the necessary permissions (internet access for authenticating the apps and later on for downloading data for the apps themselves; and location for navigation; and so on) then I think it would've worked.
So my main question is - How can I grant the mirrorlink server app permissions, even though none was requested?
However - If you think that I'm wrong or that I've made a mistake along the way - for instance that the mirrorlink server apk must get system app priviliges and therefore must be in /system/app/ folder - Please let me know
thanks,
Jacob

connecting phone to pc via PTP/MTP or "file transfer" suck because you can't browse full photos without downloading them to local drive first for example.
USB Mass Storage mode doesn't have this deficiency, is there easy way to get it back?
device?
Cubot king kong mini 2
it also happens on other android devices!
You can't bring back

Modern Android devices use different USB connection protocols, for example MTP what acts a lot like USB mass storage. This because the Android file system had to be accessible from Windows device, it had to be formatted with the FAT file system. Not only does Microsoft have patents it exerts on FAT, FAT is also an older, slower file system without a modern permission system.
An MTP device shows up in Windows Explorer so you can browse and transfer files.
For wireless file transfers, a good choice is AirDroid. It allows you to connect to your Android device over Wi-Fi with just a web browser, moving files back and forth without the necessity of a cable. It will likely be a bit slower, but it can be a life-saver if you’re out and about and didn’t bring the appropriate USB cable. For transferring files from Android to your PC, Portal is also a quick and easy solution.
thanks, I've actually found some ad-free apps on https://playsearch.kaki87.net/

I suggest using x-plore and using the same network to transfer/view files. Have been using it's wifi share function since 2014 or something.
