Installing CMONEX HardSPL in my Treo - Palm Treo Pro ROM Development

I may be doing something wrong... I'm following the steps on this thread but after Treo enters the boot loader I'm not able to establish a ActiveSync connection between my computer (Windows 7) and Treo.
The only thing that appears as remotely related to Treo is the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" that is connected to "Microsoft USB Sync", as shown in the images below.

And I find weird as it reports Qualcomm CDMA Technologies even though I have a GSM phone.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

go to settings - connections - usb2pc and disable fast data sync (or advanced data transfer)
and reconnect the phone

try this

McDoPDA, after ur device enter 3 colour screen, unplug it from USB before pressing next on the update utility, plug it to different USB and wait for windows to discover it again, when it will say new device is ready to use press next in the update utility...

is it same problem as above ?

No I don't think it's related with the other errors and disabling Advanced Data Transfer didn't help either.
I just want to know if I'm in the right path.

I have exactly the same problems...

I've managed to install CMONEX HardSPL
I've successfully managed to install CMONEX HardSPL.
The steps on the cmonex's original post are correct, however it fails to mention that you will not be able to establish an ActiveSync connection, but the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" connected to "Microsoft USB Sync" in, in fact, what you should wait for.
The installation on my Treo was successful as the pictures below can attest.

Managed to flash Hard SPL
Just relax!! You should wait till your computer find the driver for Qualcomm CDMA at windows download center (so you should have a live internet connection at the time) it will take a while, but after that, you can flash the SPL without any problem.
If your operation system fail to find the driver, just delete the ?Unknown device from control panel->system->devices and reconnect the usb cabel, after that check if it search for the driver. that's it.

No It wont
I have the same problem Palm Treo pro and even after the CDMA driver loads I still get a communications error I have done every thing I can think of to get it to work but it will not

Directly after phone goes into bootloader mode (tri-color screen), unplug sync cable and immediately plug it back in. Do this before you start clicking thru the Rom Update Utility menus..

I put my XDA II into boot loader mode and connected the phone and wire and the power and downloaded and installed active sync 4.5 but i cant connect and the screen does not change to usb or anything just says serial at top and v1.03 at the bottom, is there some drivers or software i need to get?
And BTW active sync works fine while device is on.
Thanks
In case it helps here is the item i purchased:

this connects to COM port of your computer most new PCs have only 1 COM port .. In the past COM ports was common like usb today you don't need any driver to get it work... if it's work fine with active sync - where is the problem ?
It is called a Serial connector. Hence the reason your phone is saying Serial (though it will say serial regardless unless it is plugged into USB). In terms of upgrading, make sure ActiveSync is OFF! You don't want your device to connect to ActiveSync before or during the upgrade. I would go into ActiveSync connection settings and turn off auto-connect, at least until the update is complete.
And as stated above, if it is connecting to ActiveSync via the Serial anyway, than all is well!

Windows 7: -Uninstall Hotsync Driver fails + Can you get Hotsync working in W7

I'm floundering here, so if mods feel this belongs in the Android subforum (is there one? I'm using a Dream specifically, but I'm sure this could be applicable to the Magic just as much), go right ahead please.
I am using windows 7. I just love it. HTC Hotsync installs fine, but the Vista 32bit driver installed 'incorrectly'. Any attempt now to uninstall it fails, so I'm stuck.

That's the weird error I get when the uninstall fails. BTW., I've tried uninstalling both from the Driver menu itself in start, as well as from add/remove from the control panel.
Also see this window. Not sure if I can use this even?
I have tried to reinstall/re-run the driver install file, but it won't work. I've tried restarting, uninstalling...but it doesn't help.
Can someone suggest how I can 'hard' or 'force' uninstall this driver? or whatever is left of it?
I have run this Hotsync in XP fine, so I know what I'm doing...it's just in W7 that I must've mucked up the nuances of run driver>THEN plug in phone, or vice versa., or I might've enabled hotsync on the phone, when I didn't need to and that mucked it up lol.
This is the HTC link for the Hotsync and such. I followed the instructions for Vista installation. I've also tried the 'run as administrator', but again, not being able to uninstall the first failed driver installation is kind of hindering any decent 2nd "Go' at it.
Can someone confirm if Android does not sync via WWMD at all? We must use Hotsync? btw., WHY...don't they have Hotsync available in a clear link from the main page-as opposed to buried deep in HTC Asia's Magic menu??
Update:
I tried it on my lenovo...W7. Same result. No connection., no proper initialization.
I ran it as administrator.
I ran it under vista sp3 compatibility mode...NADDA.
The usb driver registers fine, but 'Android Phone' driver is 'not found' .
I got a useless allbeit PROMPT reply form letter from HTC today not helping me whatsoever . "We do not support W7"...gee, what a surprise lol.
No luck with W7 so far.
My CPU doesn't support virtualization which was a possible solution somebody on hofo mentioned.
Looks like there's no hope for now.

MTP Drivers problems with Windows 10 after last Windows Update

Hi, all.
After the last big windows update, my Galaxy S7 MTP connection stopped to work. It was working like a charm before. Now the driver is not recognized by Windows and there's no way in hell to transfer a file via cable from my PC.
Here are some shots:

There's no KIES anymore, tried Smart Switch from Samsung, didn't work because my Windows 10 is version N, without Media Pack.
Strangely I can't find over the internet any mention to this problem.
Anyone there to give me a hand on this?
Tried updating the driver?
http://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
Uninstall that unrecognised one if it lets you first
It's possible it's not the phone driver causing the problem too, chipset/USB?
Also try this program "Ghostbuster"
https://ghostbuster.codeplex.com/
1. Disconnect phone
2. Right click an entry of each section and choose "Add Class"
3. Once all sections are highlighted, hit "Remove ghosts" at the bottom right
It might restart the program again as Administrator without removing them first time around, if so just hit remove ghosts again
Reboot the machine and connect the phone

Thanks for your reply.
I've tried this driver before, it didn't work. It's also quite outdated (2015).
Ghostbuster was a nice touch, I didn't know this one. It has not fixed the problem, but it's another tool to try in the future problems that I face. I will try to find a different computer to connect to.
In the meanwhile, I'm relying on Resilio/Airdroid sort of solutions, but Wifi is a lot slower for files over 4GB, which are usually my kind of transfer.

Note 8 Exynos Nougat ADB USB Allow Data Popup

Hi, I have a rooted Exynos Note 8 Duos on Nougat (7.1.1) connected to a Win 7 Ultimate x64 PC
Every time I connect the phone via USB to the PC I get a nag screen on the phone asking me to "allow access to phone data"...and it's exasperating. I'm also aware that if I were ever to accidentally click DENY, then it's a pain to resolve that issue.
I'd like to get rid of the "allow data" nag/prompt and always allow data access from the PC in question.
I believe I have the latest samsung and adb drivers.
The "allow" screen once accepted on a different PC does not return.
I have USB debugging enabled AND I have already asked the phone to remember the PC and not ask for debugging permission again. (Generating the RSA key).
I believe the problem is that I use a sync program called birdiesync for syncing mail and calendars to thunderbird on the PC. Birdiesync is installed on PC and on Device.
Birdiesync (PC) comes with its own version of ADB.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\BirdieSync\Android\Adb\1.0.26\adb.exe
...Which is in addidtion to the one used buy Android Studio (also installed)
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe
Tried revoking the USB debug RSA keys and restarting ADB server then reconnecting and I get the initial allow USB debugging popup with the remember option

}
, which I allow. I additionally get the generic nag screen which pops under the primary one figB.
...which I also allow but which will return on every USB disconnect/reconnect.
Do I need to copy/move the RSA key on device to a different folder?
Can anybody help?
Cheers
Samsung Smart Switch - Allow Data - No more nagging
I resolved the issue by installing "Samsung Smart Switch" on the PC then connecting the phone once. Pressing "allow data" then disconnecting and uninstalling Samsung Smart Switch. Not sure what this program did...but it worked.
It's not a graceful solution. I can only assume some part of either ADB or USB drivers got updated with the install and allowed a proper RSA key to be generated on the phone.

[HELP!] eMMC Software Download App problems with Nokia 8 (No Phone. State stuck) :(

Hi everyone!
For almost a couple of months I have been dealing with my bricked Nokia 8, it became like this on its own, I did absolutely nothing to it, this is one of the greatest mysteries I've come across and been living in misery since.
If you want to know the full extent and description, you can check it in my original post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/help/help-nokia-8-powering-unresponsive-t3993959
Since then I have posted in the Noob thread and have been communicating with others, to the point that I've been trying my phone out with QPST, in particular the eMMC Software Download App. The reason being that I am wanting to gain access to my deep internal storage and do a full backup of the device, before I do any flashing or repairing to unbrick that would erase my data completely (I am in desperate need to retrieve my contacts and SMS messages as they are not backed up online or offline. It is also making my work life incredibly difficult and loosing out on jobs )
Long story short, my Nokia 8 gets recognised in device manager in 15 minutes after connected by USB as Qualcomm 9008 (before it was QSUSB_BULK but I installed the Qualcomm drivers manually).
I then proceed to open emmc software download app, and after wanting to "Switch device to DLOAD" I get this happening:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It remains in that state with no progression (looks like 20%) and I have tried this again and after leaving it for more than 2 hours it's still the same and gives me this error message after selecting Okay.
However, if I unplug and re-plug USB, then open again emmc software download app, and then click DLOAD button to select phone, I get this:
The State is now Enabled but no more Q/QCP-XXX (Sahara Download), it just says No Phone.
Any idea what this means???
Does anyone know if they may have experienced this whatsoever? And if anyone can help me on this??
I would really really appreciate it!
