Hello,
I just received my cradle today and found it was not usb but something else that looks like a vga connector but only has 2 rows of pin holes, does anyone know what this is called?
I put my XDA II into boot loader mode and connected the phone and wire and the power and downloaded and installed active sync 4.5 but i cant connect and the screen does not change to usb or anything just says serial at top and v1.03 at the bottom, is there some drivers or software i need to get?
And BTW active sync works fine while device is on.
Thanks
In case it helps here is the item i purchased:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/02-XDAII-SERI...|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50#ebayphotohosting

this connects to COM port of your computer most new PCs have only 1 COM port .. In the past COM ports was common like usb today you don't need any driver to get it work... if it's work fine with active sync - where is the problem ?
It is called a Serial connector. Hence the reason your phone is saying Serial (though it will say serial regardless unless it is plugged into USB). In terms of upgrading, make sure ActiveSync is OFF! You don't want your device to connect to ActiveSync before or during the upgrade. I would go into ActiveSync connection settings and turn off auto-connect, at least until the update is complete.
And as stated above, if it is connecting to ActiveSync via the Serial anyway, than all is well!

I am also interested...
I have a Sirf Star II bt dongle, which has a mini usb port. I dont know if I could connect to it via mini usb with my HTC Wizard, and of course use it for GPS Navigation. The reason I want to do this is that I only want to give power supply to my Wizard, not both of the devices
I'm sure this is a rellay interesting thing, not only for GPS mouse USB, but also for USB hard disk and so on....
I'm almost sure that the hardware have the possibility to be used with host function, but I don't know if there are some specific driver to install...
I hope that some guru of this forum should help us..
nope
for my knowledge- there is no posibility of any (undocumented) usb host avilability for our devices. (chip, schematics e.t.c)- I'm 99% shure 4 that.
try Eten m600 or qtek 9000...
According to this diagram, the OMAP850 supports USB Host and Client, so with the proper drivers and cables it should be able to connect to and use USB devices
There is also some discussion about it over here http://www.htcwizardweb.net/node/661

i use an ameo / u1000 and it has no problems hosting a usb stick. what happens is i stick in the 4 in 1 plug to the ameo. the usb is then plugged in to the jack. the ameo reads the usb stick as "hard disk"

Thanks for that but i was more looking for software driver/program which allows you to use usb disk.
214 has already small usb port and i'd like to connect it directly in it - don't know why use another plugin between.
i hope you know what i wanted to say.
thanks again for efforts!

Ones again a simple Google search revealed an Archos USB-host cable for the mini usb port.
Remember that no one said that the mini USB port on the iPaq is usb-host capable, infact a forum mod here claims that the mini-usb port is NOT host capable and no there is no addon driver that I am aware of.
In fact I am fairly sure that it is a hardware feature, otherwise someone would have written such a software for my Tytn/Hermes eons ago.
Hope this helps.
For some reason my Note 5 doesnt seem to want to connect to my Windows 10 PC as USB storage. Did they nix this too or is it still possible?

Should still be possible. What does it say in the top status bar when you have it plugged in? Does it show connected as installer?

Try turning USB debugging on in the developer options. Restart phone then plug up

Looks like it was the micro usb cable I was using. It wasnt the one that came with the phone and was a bit older. Guess that did the trick, thanks!
You should clean the dishes when you're finished eating off them. It's easier that way, rather than letting the food become hard and crusty, which is more of a pain to remove later on.
Hi everyone,
I recently got my watch
So far I can tell you that I got the first (i think) OTA dump for Android Wear 2.0
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fFN4woS7a6jEioeYaG76USHRzDQFk6HF/view
The Sim can be replaced, not easy as you can think but it can!

If someone has a broken one, I could do replacement video for sure. I didn't find any USB connection that could be used in the recoverymode...
There is a group working on a USB connector with the Band pins over here:

Here's an idea,
So we know which pins are required to interact via USB and can now install TWRP on it. The problem with this is that in order to use USB, we have to take apart the watch and fancy a connector out of wires and such. From what I read, contained in the band is a LTE antenna connected over 4 pins (and I believe a Wifi antenna in the other), since we dont need LTE (at least where I'm at in Canada), perhaps routing the 4 pins (and de-soldering them from the motherboard somehow) to the USB pins on the motherboard could make a much cleaner way to connect usb. this would require quite a bit of fine soldering, but if you're up for the task im sure the old LTE band can be hacked apart to fancy a USB plug out of making USB access alot easier. Could help with development forsure. I havent received my watch yet but I think this would make a decent mod.
got this verizon wear24 watch die on me - touchscreen sensor isnt registering any touches. any suggestions to revive it?
I was trying to put the first rom of the gear fit 2 pro 365 with odin but I accidentally added a rom of gear fit 2 360 and now it stayed on a black screen that says "Download has been failed. Please retry wireless download” but I don't know how to return to the wireless donwload screen because they don't let me the buttons
You managed allready your problem?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gifgSLLIGRY
In theory Power Button should work for "hard reboot"... to leave nearly every screen... hold few seconds in "emergency situation"...
If you killed Downlaod wireless option... but Downlaod aka Odin Mode work... you need USB cable...
Somewhere I saw Pinout... forgotten where...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Only if USB cable... or other Hardware replacment attempts... how to open SM-R360
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eOkpkVtwSw
IMHO SM-R365 not much differ... remove 4 screws... carefully
If I will find Pinout of USB I will post....

I have a similar problem and cant find the USB pinout for the SM-R365
I will try to find...
I can only remember User posted Photo...
Need some time to find this...
Otherwise maybe in Service Manuals PINOUT readable...
If found, I will post somewhere here:

Best Regards
I have a Gear Fit 2 Pro R360 that is stuck in download mode, so probably a direct USB connection to a PC running Odin should solve the problem.
Found the service manual with pinout, but I'm not sure what need to be connected.
Do I need to connect the TX/RX through a USB to serial adapter, or the USB_D and USB_D+ directly to USB, or maybe both?
In the service manual there is a special cradle being used that connects to all 5 pins plus 5V+ and GND.
