Samsung Device Maintenance app extremely high battery usage! - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

I tried to uninstall updates, also clearing cache but nothing works
this app must be a battery life improver app! not a killer one!!
knox anti malware system is off in it

Try clearing cache partition in recovery. If that doesn't help factory reset.

do you have the same problem with your device maintenance app ?

Bro, it shows a battery usage of.. a system. The Device Maintenance app is a part of the system - so it does not show the battery usage only of the app - it shows all the usage of the system apps. That's why is so high .

No mines fine. Normally 3-5 percent usage in a full day.

You didn't understand me. It's a part of the system and the percentage shows overall battery usage of all the system apps.

Yes its not there, and now exynos is on V2 bootloader too which means its not possible anymore to flash back to V1 bootloader, btw its the android system drain that you are experiencing, for me its 4%. Maybe clear the cache to solve it, or a factory reset as a last resort.

[Q] Bad battery life after upgrading to 10.2.0 RC1

HI all,
After upgrading to 10.2.0 RC1 on my Nexus S, the battery life can only survive for several hours.
Then I checked detailed battery usage(Setting->Battery), the SMS app used almost 82% battery.
Now my workaround solution is shutting down the SMS app.
Does anyone meet the same problem ?
Many thanks.
You should try using Greenify - forcefully hibernates apps when the screen turns off, until you need them again.
Check whatever uses your battery using BetterBatteryStats and Wakelock Detector.

I have tried to downgrade the OS image to 10.1.2, but failed to boot up.
I knew the boot-up failure was caused by incompatible user data.
But these userdata is too much important to me, I will never wipe them out.
Just hope this bug can be fixed in the next release.

Make a backup of your data... You should be able to keep all your data and still flash at will... The only data I lose is browser history and passwords... ?? I flash sometimes a couple times a day..
You could also uninstall the misbehaving app and install an alternative version ( hangouts for kitkat, for example, can be used for mms )

[Q] Wifi doesn't turn on

Hi people, when i try to turn Wifi on, i press the button on fast options, but it don't turn on, and when i go to settings, wifi stays different from the other ON/OFF selectors. If i reboot the phone, it starts working, but a while after that it does the same.
What ROM, Kernel are you using?
What about from the quick tiles? Can you activate wifi from there?
Try using stock theme.

It seems that the problems is because of the Snapdragon app, Battery Guru, on the settings it disables Wifi, and i unnistall it, and now it seems to work perfectly

Probably a setting in there to disable WiFi, but honestly you don't need Snapdragon Battery Guru. The OnePlus battery is amazing as it is, just stick to basic battery conservative tips such as eliminating wakelocks from occurring to ensure your phone deep sleeps.

Yeah it desables WiFi in case of inactivity, i just instaled because some people tryed it and said it was nice, but doesn't change anything in OnePlus. Now is working well, let's see if it don't returns to the same.

Please try to turn off wifi optimization on built-in settings
(settings/ wifi/ advanced/wifi optimization => untick=off)
Been using it this way for the last 2.5 days with no wifi issue to date yet.
3days now no WiFi issue.
I don't have MAC address.. wifi hardware damage?

way to soft boot Android 5.1 or other way to clear system ram?

Hey all,
As you all know, in android 5.1 there's a new memory leak. The only work around is to reboot your device every once in a while. But, isn't there a working app or something to soft reboot your device or something ? This would be a lot faster then rebooting my phone twice a day.
Greets,
Swa100
keep the discussions contained.. there is already a thread for 5.1 discussion and one for memory leak..
and i dont think 30 seconds is too much . for reboot ofcourse .. and twice a day ? thats really strange ..
'Fast Reboot' work's and free at playstore...
CM memory cleaner cleans ram without a reboot. It's not a task killer though it can stop things booting

Which app is that exactly? And does that also cleans ram used up by "system"?

Does that one works with android 5.1? Because I've tried some others and those weren't working (reboot took forever, same effect as clearing the dalvik cache)

I've just tried this one. It causes the system to use even more ram. So it makes the leak worse
Xposed installer can do a soft reboot (Xposed framework doesn't work on 5.1 but the apk can still be used for this function).

Wasn't talking about full reboot, but about soft reboot. There are some statements of few recognized developers (don't exactly remember if on GravityBox or Battery Drain thread), but they clearly explained that soft reboot doesn't allow all aplications to close properly and because of that system left to run some noended process in background.
So this is causing battery drain and not the act of rebooting itself.

How so? All it does is free ram and yes I use it with 5.1.
Get cm cleaner. It has clear ram widget. Plus you can choose which apps run at boot

Yes, this is what developers have said. Please avoid soft reboots wherever possible.

poor battery life?

So I've been getting very poor battery life lately. Despite tweaks such as disabled syncing, underclocked, black theme and naptime. What could be the cause? What stats do I need to share? I have better battery stats installed and it seems as if com.google.andriod.gms and Android system is causing many wakeups.
Google gms keeps waking your device... Like a MF.. Mine is 13/hour.. No mods, no naptime, no syspatch config..
Try wiping dalvik cache from recovery

battery drain since Android 10 update

Hi All!
I was happy with my battery consumption with miui 11 Android 9.
But since two days, I updated to miui 11 Android 10, and the drain in idle in huge!
During the night, I usually lost 2 or 3 %, what was nice.
Now, I lose more than 15 %....
Is anyone facing the same problem?
Is there any way to fix this??
I'm running stock rom global, no root, locked bl, and haven't change anything after the update.
Thanks for reply.
It seems the problem is coming from service Google play... What can I do?

Factory reset. You should do that every time you do a major OS update anyway.

lol yea right. complete reset everytime because of an update? if thats needed, then android is unusable and complete crap.
ive never done that on my phones and never had any issues.
its most likely some badly optimized app, that keeps the phone awake.
