So I've been getting very poor battery life lately. Despite tweaks such as disabled syncing, underclocked, black theme and naptime. What could be the cause? What stats do I need to share? I have better battery stats installed and it seems as if com.google.andriod.gms and Android system is causing many wakeups.
Google gms keeps waking your device... Like a MF.. Mine is 13/hour.. No mods, no naptime, no syspatch config..
Try wiping dalvik cache from recovery

Already tried that, didn't really do anything ):
Hm, what you could try is clear data from Google play services.

You don't need to bump your post every hour because you haven't gotten an answer yet. Not everyone is on at the same time.
Far as a solution:
First, have you cleared the cache and data for the market app and you still get the same error?
Are you running a ROM - If so, did you dirty flash(just wipe cache and flash the zip) or did you do a full wipe?(factory reset + Davlik cache)
If not running a ROM try to clear your cache anyways via CWM or TWRP see if that helps.

I did everything except clear cache for market. How do i do that?
Go to 'Manage Apps' in settings then click the market. There you'll see four options; force stop, uninstall, clear data, clear cache. Clear the data and the cache. This will make you agree to the TOS again but may solve your problem.

try reinstalling rom and rewiping everything again?
Do you have a directory called "LOST.DIR" on your sdcard that's ridiculously big? If you do, you can delete it - it's essentially the 'Recycle Bin' of Linux.
Also, try removing ALL your google accounts from the phone then clearing the market cache like mentioned above and then add your google accounts back. This is a fix for a different market problem but may work on this one as well.

I'm out of ideas then. Re-flash your ROM after doing a full wipe see if that fixes it. If not try a different or stock ROM.

Dang, i really dont wanna reflash.
Alright went to a backup i had of this rom and everything seems to be fine now, i installed KT Kernel last night and then today i had the problem. Do you think the kernel had something to do with it?
So I have had this problem two days in running -
Phone specs -
ROM: Viper XL 3.2.6
Kernel: Bulletproof
S-off
The problem - Each time I come out "Airplane Mode", the Phone stays "Awake" and this is a huge battery drain. When I checked the battery usage it is "Google Services". I have to restart the phone to resolve this issue. Is there a solution for this? I thought it is the kernel and went back to stock.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Did you just try to dirty flash the ROM again (wipe Dalvik and cache, but keep user data and reflash)? Its always worth a try when you encounter random bugs.
Was it a clean install originally (wiped Dalvik, cache and factory reset)?
Yes, it was a clean install of the ROM. for the Kernel i wiped the Cache and Dalvik cache. Now when I went back to stock kernel, i again wiped the caches alone and didn't do a factory reset.
Try to dirty re-flash the ROM. Can't hurt, especially if you still have the file, it will just take a few minutes to do.
Go into Apps and find Google Services Framework. Force stop and clear data, then reboot. This will temporarily break your Play Store account and other Google functions, but they will come back.
Thanks Redpoint and Elvis, I try these and see if it fixes the problem the next time i put it in "airplane" mode.
It's also important to note the Recovery you are using as, you may have done a clean install however 2.4 seems to have issues wiping, so this could be the root of your issue.
ah I see.. yes i do have TWRP 2.4. may that is it then. Thanks.
exad, i downgraded to TWRP 2.3.3 and went to airplane mode and back to normal. In fact i even flashed Bulletproof 1.1 kernel. The problem has gone away. Thanks!
If it's no trouble could you switch the [Q] to [RESOLVED]. This way people won't waste their time. Thanks!

Sure.
Bringing this one up again.
Flashed Bulletproof 1.3 to my Viper XL 3.2.7. First time I took my phone off Airplane mode, it seemed to work fine. But the second time, Google Services "wakelocked" my phone.
I have TWRP 2.3.x. Right now, I went to Apps -> Google Services Framework and force stopped it and cleared the cache. I am not sure if it fixed the problem.
Any help is appreciated.
Use gsam or better battery stats to figure out what app it is.

Go download greenify and "greenify" Maps, gmail and any other apps that may cause wake locks

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will try those.
Stopping and clearing data on Google services did help with the wakelock but it broke google locations and such. but nevertheless it was a solution.
Unfortunately, AnTuTu Benchmark has stopped.
I don't know why it always stop after i click on Test?
Before it was working now but now with CM Nightly it's completely screwed up how to fix it?
Way to little info is given...
Give as much as possible info so people can better understand the circumstances surrounding your issues e.g:
Did you do a full wipe prior to flashing CM11 nighlies or was it a dirty flash, are you running Dalvik or ART etc.
Also what have you tried to resolve the issue ? Cleared Antutu's cache & data etc?
The more detailed you are the more likely you are going to get help.

I have this too, from time to time.
You could try to use BatterBatteryStats (root) to identify a possible wakelock...

Update to ak270. I jump between 239-269 using multiROM on a ROM slot just to compare battery life and, so far, 270 has yielded me the best results on performance and battery life.
As the the title states im experiencing constant home screen freezing after updating to 9.5.6. I tried turning off double tap to wake and ambient display on and off and it still occurs. Has anybody experienced this issue and found an solution?

Im using the stock oneplus launcher i tried nova launcher to see if the problem still occured and it was present as well.
Same issue I had yesterday with Lawnchair V2. I thought it's launcher related, so uninstalled and installed an older version of Lawnchair v2, the issue was still there. Uninstalled and again installed the latest version, and now no freezing of the home screen. I have no idea what fixed it, but glad to know that it's not launcher related and something in the OOS.

probably old cache files from OOS update
id suggest clearing cache, i tend to make it a habit to format my phone after a major update.

I'm afraid Its not related to the launcher as I'm having this issue on the stock launcher. It tends to happen when you have frequent notifications and unlock the phone fast. Cleared cache, factory reset and even rolled back to a prior build via fastboot and it still happens every now and then.

Might be an issue with ambient display. Disabled it for now to test it out.
