battery drain since Android 10 update - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Questions & Answers

Hi All!
I was happy with my battery consumption with miui 11 Android 9.
But since two days, I updated to miui 11 Android 10, and the drain in idle in huge!
During the night, I usually lost 2 or 3 %, what was nice.
Now, I lose more than 15 %....
Is anyone facing the same problem?
Is there any way to fix this??
I'm running stock rom global, no root, locked bl, and haven't change anything after the update.
Thanks for reply.

It seems the problem is coming from service Google play... What can I do?

Factory reset. You should do that every time you do a major OS update anyway.

lol yea right. complete reset everytime because of an update? if thats needed, then android is unusable and complete crap.
ive never done that on my phones and never had any issues.
its most likely some badly optimized app, that keeps the phone awake.

No not every time you get an update. Just every major OS update. What's that, once a year maybe? Not a big deal at all.

Rooted Android Oreo - Play Store Payment Crash

Hey folks, I'm currently on the official Android Oreo build with root and noticed, that whenever I want to buy an app the play store crashes. Anyone experienced something similar?

Yes. Unrooted and it crashes with purchases. Tried wiping cache and data for play store. Thinking of doing a factory reset. On Pixel XL.

I had something similar in the past couple of days. Try searching Google on play store and then have a look at any Google apps that need updating, particularly Android system Web view

That is the culprit. Try wiping data and cache in app. Or maybe uninstalling it and reinstalling straight away? I was able to enable it so just suggestions here. Keep trying.

Maybe a coincidence then. Have you tried logging out of your Google account? Or wiping all your account settings and logging in again?

No success again. Is there a way to remove root on the Oreo builds? Couldn't find anything since this topic is pretty new at all. Will fastboot flashing the boot img from the Oreo build be sufficient?

There's nothing wrong with your web view. It's that way by design. It has been since Nougat. By default Nougat and Oreo use Chrome instead of Android System WebView. That's why you can't enable it right now. You can change it so it uses WebView instead in developer options.
Google explains how Chrome will become WebView in Android 7.0

Ever find a solution? I haven't had a chance to factory reset yet, will likely do so this weekend unless an alternative solution exists.

Did a factory reset, didn't help though. Had to reflash the Oreo image. Rooted again and play store works fine now.

Cellular services dropping out constantly

For the past month or so the cellular services on my one plus one have been not working 100%. It drops out often. I've tried factory resetting and flashing new roms to no avail and switched my sim card into a new phone to see if it's the sim or the phone, which it looks like it's pointing to the phone :/
Anyone else had these issues? It's not 100% failing just very often.

No Idea - I've been using an old phone today and it seems to have constant cellular service which makes me to think that something inside my oneplus one is not working correctly.

Are you sure you didn't flash the kitkat/lp ones? On what rom are you?
I'm on lineage OS 14.1. What would you recommend here? I can flash to oxygen if it makes it easier?

Sound issue in Oreo Beta 3

Hi,
I've got my phone 2 days ago and the first thing I did was to update to Oreo Beta 3 from the official site. I find that the sound stops working every once in a while, unless I reboot the phone. Anybody else face this issue too?

I never upgrade the phone to another OS before I test it out completely because if you update, then you never know if anything was broken before the upgrade. Back to your question, I am on beta 3 and sound is fine, but it depends which sound you are referring too.

I refer to the whole system sound, everything including ringtone volume and media and alarm. Nothing works when I try to play a song or a video. But when I reboot it, it's working!

I suspect its an app.
Try running with no apps then install one at a time.

Hello, I also had this problem until my first factory reset. I haven't had this issue since. It seems things can get messy when you upgrade to Oreo without a full wipe. Try that if all else fails. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. But I uninstalled GCMod5 (Google Camera port) the other day and I haven't found the issue ever since. Though I didn't flash it through the recovery, looks like it was affecting my phone somehow, and now it's gone! As of now, the problem is solved.

More information needed.
Bootloader state unlocked or not, MIUI version or custom Rom version, Magisk used or not, what were you doing right before auto rebooting, what is the state now (in bootloop/recovery/fastboot or in system)... etc. Screenshots better.
You can try to update the system if there is update available.
Same here. I'm using TWRP + EU ROM 12.0.6.0 Global + Unlock Bootloader. System was reboot randomly without any notice. At first i install Magist and root device but right now no root and already uninstall Magisk. But system still automatically reboot in randomly times usually about 2-3 times reboot in a day.

Try a complete clean flash with current version which will format all data. Backup your stuff if you want to do this.
If after clean flash the issue persist, it's likely Rom's problem.
If after clean flash the issue vanished, problem is likely due to apps you use.

I was facing this problem on PPUI rom and assumed that issue was with the rom so installed MIUI EU 12.5.1 version which seems to have fixed the issue. But it seems cause was not the ROM but something different.

I already tried factory reset for like two times. Didn't help. Lemme try to flash another firmware and see if it resolves. Thanks
I also have the reboot issue. I don't have any other issues. My phone has the official firmware, I didn't flash any custom rom.
The problem first showed up for me a few days after the November firmware update.

For me now all problems have subsided. I haven't encountered any problems since last week. I didn't even update. The problem just vanished. Thank goodness. Btw, keep an eye out for One UI 4 Android 12 update. It's fix most of the problems. And might bring new problems too lmao
Oh amazing!! I'm happy for you! I most certainly will, I'm looking forward to the update. The weirdness is that it only happens very occasionally! Like, in total I've encountered it less than 10 times I guess. It happened three days ago and again today (while I certainly use my phone a few hours a day).

Let's hope your phone also would get better soon. It's not like a software problem or anything. I don't know what kind of sorcery this is. Samsung must have put a spell on these phones
Haha thank you! I still hope that it's a random and weird software issue, so that it can be solved in the next update lol.
