Hi guys, I have this weird problem with my zenfone 4 max: if I am in a car my I get poor quality audio if I use the microphone of the phone (like vocal notes whatsapp, telegram or silmpy if I try to record audio).
The audio quality is so bad that my voice is incomprhensible. If Imake a call the quality is perfect and of course if I record something outside the car everything works good.
What kind of problem can be? I've been thinking about some wind filter that don't like low frequency engine humbling...
Any idea?

Is anybody else getting horrible audio quality with headphones after the update? Even at low volumes, my music is distorted and very tinny.
Before the update, the audio quality was excellent with headphones in, but it's unbearable now
I tested this with Pandora, Google Music, and Doubletwist, so it's not a software issue.
Music et sound through my headphones are just as good as it was before the update. The speakers themselves were never good, but I see no change in output on my headphones or external speakers
I cant comment on that but I did notice that my speaker output levels are different now. They are about 65/35 right dominant. I don't think it was like that before.
No changes for me: external speakers are the same (not the best, but evenly distributed) and headphone sound is good enough.
I had the same problem after the update. Offline update for a second time without any success.
Resetting the device to factory defaults solved the sound problem.

Hello,
I have a relatively severe issue with the Bluetooth audio quality on my phone. It sounds pretty much exactly like 64kbits MP3, you can especially hear it in the high frequencies. It's somehow distorted and unclear and extremely annoying as it ruins the experience totally. Everyone who heard sound over my Bluetooth devices has heard this.
The weird thing: I experienced this with both my Galaxy S5 (G900F) and my Galaxy S6 (G920F) and every single Bluetooth device that is connected to them. I tried it with my Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter, Denon AVR X1100W, Logitech Boombox and my car stereo Kennwood KDC-BT35U. The audio quality is always the same.
However, with my Nexus 5, my Galaxy Tab S8.4 and my Laptop, the audio quality over Bluetooth is great! Also, if I use the headphone jack on my Galaxys, it sounds just fine. I mostly use Spotify and Google Play Music, but the problem is not there since it sounds great when using a cord.
I asked the Samsung Support about this and of course they didn't know anything. They offered replacing the device but I don't think that this makes a difference since I had the same problem on my Galaxy.
Now I am asking everyone else who has the Galaxy S5 or S6, have you experienced something like this? Any solutions? It is very frustrating.
I just solved this mystery. For a long time I have been using the Mi Fitness Band, and I was wearing it all the time, so whenever that is connected to the phone the audio quality gets very bad. At least I know what it is now!
Same here!
If my Mi Band 2 is paired in the Mi Fit app, the audio quality of ANY connected bluetooth device (aux speaker, car audio etc.) is distorted (especially high sounds)
I reinsatlled the Mi Fit app, even reseted the whole phone, nothing changes. Only if I unpair the Mi Band in the mi fit app, is the bluetooth audio quality ok.

Good audio quality at Bluetooth playback
Guys,
I experienced the same when i playback via Bluetooth in my car. Since i installed Poweramp beta, you can choose some different type of audio playback quality. I set mine at 24 bit playback, 192 khz. I can hear some slight difference but i think you can not expect much of it.
Second option might be Viper4android and Dolby Atmos. These will increase earsgasm at your desire.
Give it a try and report feedback!
Here is a screenshot of it.
Poweramp has unbelivable awesome effects, but it does not eliminate the base problem: miband (or any Bluetooth LE stuff?) affects the bluetooth audio transmission.

That is true and sadly a known problem of android in general. See http://www.androidauthority.com/android-wear-ruining-bluetooth-speaker-headset-sound-656300/
Solution
I might have a solution for some of you. Good luck.
Find it in my reddit post. I can't post URL's because i am new here. I only created this account for sharing the solution.
under r/miband, ''POSSIBLE SOLUTION for the BT Audio quality problem when you connect to both Miband + Audio device''
I own an ASUS Zenpad 370 CG phablet and a bluetooth headset Plantronics Voyager Legend. Android version is 5.0.2.
Here is my problem:
Earlier I was using this bluetooth with Samsung Galaxy SIII. The voice quality was great at both ends. But when I switched to Zenpad, I started hearing complaints from those with whom I was talking. I could hear them alright, but they complained of unclear sound.
I did the check by being at the other end. My wife called me, using the bluetooth, from SIII first and then from Zenpad. SIII sound was good, but Zenpad sound is faint. If she spoke up, I could hear her well. But at normal level of speech, I needed to strain my ear.
I checked bluetooth with Easy Voice Recorder and Skype. When I record with bluetooth on Easy Voice Recorder (Paid app), the voice is faint. But this app has a mic boost for bluetooth. When I boosted the mic, the sound came out loud enough and audio quality is also very good.
When I use bluetooth with Skype (Echo / sound testing service), my own voice (through bluetooth) played back to me is very clear.
I had one more interesting observation. I was talking to someone and needed to record the call. While talking to her, the sound quality at both ends wasn't great, but we could talk. But when I played back the recording, the sound quality of both of us was much better.
To me it seems that Zenpad's voice caller is somehow inferior to that in Samsung Galaxy SIII. I looked for bluetooth mic booster for voice calls. But there seems to be none such. I tried using other caller apps, but they also seem to use my built in app.
It seems that if I can somehow manipulate some settings in my caller app, or I can completely replace it with another caller app, I should be able to get very clear voice quality in Zenpad, like SIII.
What does the developer community here think? And what suggestion does it have, if any?
Thanks

Hello,
does anyone else experiences issues when calling over the internal Loudspeaker? The Person I'm calling with very often doesn't understand me clearly (often rather low Volume and a bit choppy).
But this only happens while calling via Loudspeaker (and mostly after few minutes of calling), as the Loudspeaker uses secondary microphone. Even in the test-menĂ¼ the recordings of the secondary microphone don't sound as clear as the recordings of primary mic.
This Problem also doesn't just affect the Z3 series (tested with 3 different Z3). Even my girlfriend with her Sony Z1 has the same Problem.
Is there a fix for this or a mod, which switches secondary mic with primary mic in Loudspeaker mode?
Thanks in advance
