Rooting of Device / keeping OEM ROM - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi XDA-Guys,
Simple question:
I want to root my device but keep my OEM ROM installed as I don't feel the need for a different one.
My Sony Xperia Z2 which I rooted 3 years ago without any backups or whatsever, lost the DRM keys of course and I don't want to lose them now on my Sony Xperia Z5 and thats why I'm asking for you help.
Is there any pre-caution I should be aware of? I just want my device rooted., no custom ROM or other stuff ^^
My Device: Sony Xperia Z5 Dual (E6633)
Android: 7.1.1
ROM: Stock OEM with DRM Keys
Regards,
Alex

Unfortunatell without unlock bootloader u can't root device. There is a long procedure. U need to read and do one by one.

Your linked guide is not really helpful. I don't want a custom ROM and the guide does not state anything about saving DRM keys...

Hello Seal666,
If you have followed every step correctly, the only logic conclusion is that Doomlord's toolkit doesn't support your device and firmware. You can try a few other tools, and maybe Google a bit more. A few options are: http://srsroot.com, http://cydiaimpactor.com, and http://unlockroot.com.
Cheers, and good luck!
Make Sure USB Debugging is On
Everything was on, but thank You for replies I managed to unlock BL and root my Xperia J
Now I'm moving through this forum to learn about android theming rom's etc.
Thank once more!!

root for z3 Dual D6633 on MM ! SLOVED

Hello , i updated my D6633 for the last release 6.0.1 rolled out a few days ago .
is there any way to root it with easy steps ?
follow all the steps on this link
it will work for LP for MM i suggest you to download a custom rom
for rooting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
for custom rom i suggest RXSW fully debloated one and supper fast and the battery life will increase by 1.5x or 2x
other than that fell free to see other custom rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development
and make sure it is for locked bootloader
i unlocked my bootloader
Root now is available with kingroot 4.90 on unlocked bootloader D6633 android 6.0.1

Can Z5 be rooted while is still locked? i mean...ever?

I find out now is probably not possible - - What about the future , is there like some tecguy with great skill working on it? I just really want there is a way to root my Z5 and do not need to unlock...
Pardon me for my lousy english...
No u can't but u can unlock it without losing any features by backing up your DRM keys and restoring it back..
What makes these keys lost actually is this in unlocking BL progress - and for unknown reasons - the keys are being deleted so what we do is after unlocking we just push back these keys so we don't get any losses or bad things after the unlocking progress
SS is from my XZ5 with bootloader unlocked and as u can see image processing is still here and working fine, so don't be afraid and just unlock it but don't forget your DRM keys!!
