Hello Seal666,
If you have followed every step correctly, the only logic conclusion is that Doomlord's toolkit doesn't support your device and firmware. You can try a few other tools, and maybe Google a bit more. A few options are: http://srsroot.com, http://cydiaimpactor.com, and http://unlockroot.com.
Cheers, and good luck!

Make Sure USB Debugging is On

Everything was on, but thank You for replies I managed to unlock BL and root my Xperia J
Now I'm moving through this forum to learn about android theming rom's etc.
Thank once more!!

Troubles Installing Custom ROM on my MBI I7

Hi everyone !
As mentioned, I currently own a MDI I7 Phone with Android lollipop 5.1.
I would like to completely reset my Phone by rolling back its official ROM.
But the device being quite unpopular, I can't find the right tutorial to follow.
Beside, being a noob in the Android game doesn't help much.
So far I've tried to follow these guides :
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-custom-rom-android/
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-flash-install-custom-recovery/
Unfortunately I stumbled upon some troubles, especially when I tried to unlock the bootloader or to Install a custom recovery that could work on my phone.
Moreover I also tried to follow the instructions on the website where I found the ROM I would like to install, but without success
https://www.needrom.com/download/mbi-i7/
I have been stuck on step 8) with the following Error :

I feel kinda lost.
Is there somewhere a step by step guide I could use or someone who could assist me in the process ?

Rooting of Device / keeping OEM ROM

Hi XDA-Guys,
Simple question:
I want to root my device but keep my OEM ROM installed as I don't feel the need for a different one.
My Sony Xperia Z2 which I rooted 3 years ago without any backups or whatsever, lost the DRM keys of course and I don't want to lose them now on my Sony Xperia Z5 and thats why I'm asking for you help.
Is there any pre-caution I should be aware of? I just want my device rooted., no custom ROM or other stuff ^^
My Device: Sony Xperia Z5 Dual (E6633)
Android: 7.1.1
ROM: Stock OEM with DRM Keys
Regards,
Alex
Unfortunatell without unlock bootloader u can't root device. There is a long procedure. U need to read and do one by one.

Your linked guide is not really helpful. I don't want a custom ROM and the guide does not state anything about saving DRM keys...

Xperia 5 root method?

No development for the Xperia 5?
Has anyone tried this root method from the Xperia 1?

Just wait for Sony to add it to the open device list. I did see a method on the Xperia 1 forum that claimed to work for both, but I'd be a little apprehensive at the moment

Xperia 5 is on the open device list now.
Let's hope working root method will be available soon.

Kobo Arc K107

I have (and am in fact posting from) a Kobo Arc K107 E-Reader... I can't actually get past the setup bc it seems the servers are down for this e-reader (who could of guessed)... I am posting this because I found a exploit to get to settings with the low battery prompt. I was looking to see if I could get a android 5 custom ROM at least for this e-reader so I can make it useful, heres a few cpu-z screenshots
