Hello , i updated my D6633 for the last release 6.0.1 rolled out a few days ago .
is there any way to root it with easy steps ?
follow all the steps on this link
it will work for LP for MM i suggest you to download a custom rom
for rooting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
for custom rom i suggest RXSW fully debloated one and supper fast and the battery life will increase by 1.5x or 2x
other than that fell free to see other custom rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development
and make sure it is for locked bootloader
i unlocked my bootloader
Root now is available with kingroot 4.90 on unlocked bootloader D6633 android 6.0.1

Hi,
I have a "DDE" S6 and used 5.0.2 with Ping Pong Root until now. I wanted to update to 6.0.1 now and read somewhere that I can preserve root and Knox 0x0 with FlashFire/EverRoot.
Does this work / has anybody done this/is there a good guide for that? (using full disk encryption, does that break something)
I wanted to do like this: ( not upgrading bootloader ofc ) http://imgur.com/a/hDkTp :

It won't boot, you need to flash new boot.img too. If you flash new boot.img, then you need to flash new bootloader.
Root on Android 6.0 without trip knox is impossible right not.
Thanks, whats the latest firmware I can run with old bootloader?
(mostly want to flash new modem firmware, as I saw a friend with the same network had LTE very often where I didnt)
Hi XDA-Guys,
Simple question:
I want to root my device but keep my OEM ROM installed as I don't feel the need for a different one.
My Sony Xperia Z2 which I rooted 3 years ago without any backups or whatsever, lost the DRM keys of course and I don't want to lose them now on my Sony Xperia Z5 and thats why I'm asking for you help.
Is there any pre-caution I should be aware of? I just want my device rooted., no custom ROM or other stuff ^^
My Device: Sony Xperia Z5 Dual (E6633)
Android: 7.1.1
ROM: Stock OEM with DRM Keys
Regards,
Alex
Unfortunatell without unlock bootloader u can't root device. There is a long procedure. U need to read and do one by one.

Your linked guide is not really helpful. I don't want a custom ROM and the guide does not state anything about saving DRM keys...

Hey guys ,
Mid 2018 , is there any root method for the 7.0 nougat official rom for the Verizon S6 ?
Any custom roms prerooted?
Is there anything up to date currently for this phone or there's no development going for the verizon variant ?
Converting would be nice cose there's a ton of stuff for the regular international s6 but boy this verizon with it's locked bootloader ...
I have searched the forums, seen a sketchy post about prerooted nougat rom, send you to a video with links but people conplaining it doesn't work , searched to see if there's a way to at least root it to install some mods like dual speaker , camera mod, but nope, ping pong doesn't work auto root doesnt work , nothing works for the 920V
Is there anything that does work ?
Im Trying to get twrp-3.5.2_9-0-dream2lte but i keep getting this error.
On the phone i get
Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed (RECOVERY)

You need to use safestrap twrp. The bootloader is locked down(I'm guessing you have the u.s version of the s8+? G955U
It would also be best to root your phone as installing twrp alone will void your warranty as a custom rom.
(Snapdragon) [ROM, TWRP, SUPERSU ROOT!] Samsung Galxy S8+ SM-G955U and SM-G955U1
This only works on the v7 and v8 bootloader(for now) I am proud to present a new rom pre-installed with supersu! Make sure to follow instructions. You will also be able to downgrade to 7.0 if you have 9.0 This tutorial is easy and will take a...
