Updating to Lollipop - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone just a quick question here, is it possible to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.1 to Lollipop and if so how can I do it, its such a ashamed that Samsung stopped OS firmware updates for this tablet. Also would I loose out on any functions assuming I upgrade. Also I read where this will stop the screen flickering issue, I find that this screen flickering issue on mine only seems to happen when the battery starts running low, even with mine it starts doing this rebooting cycle very annoying

Bluetooth disconnecting?

I have an android wear watch. G watch R. Never had any issues with it. Since getting S6 the phone will occasionally disconnect for a short while and the reconnect. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing Bluetooth issues?

glad its not just me but sorry you are having issues. I think the Bluetooth is weaker on this phone.
it is really annoying. My watch spends more time disconnected than connected!!

Actually, both the wifi and bluetooth is bugged and keep scanning nearly all times and battery draining quick. I guess some may also experienced wifi and bluetooth disconnection because of this.
My Pebble loses its pairing to my S6 occasionally. Very annoying. Hopefully its fixed in the next firmware update for the S6.
Had the same issue since I got the phone early April.
I was really loving my G Watch R until the S6 has totally ruined the experience. Worked perfectly with my HTC M8.
I know there's a minor update coming v soon which supposedly fixes the messed up RAM management issue. Hopefully it'll fix this incredibly poor Bluetooth issue too. I'm actually surprised a flagship phone got through quality control without them noticing bluetooth and ram management are so badly screwed up.
If they don't fix it, then I'll be even more annoyed if it's true that LG won't enable the wifi on the watch.
Just got the G925FXXU1AOE3 update om my GSM S6 Edge (SM-G925F).
One of the things listed was an improvement in connectivity with accessories so I'm hoping this will be resolved now! So far so good.

Didn't fix sh** on my watch. The first few hours was a false dawn. I have the phone on a desk next to my laptop and within 10cm of my watch and it keeps randomly disconnecting and reconnecting.
Sometimes the phone just will not reconnect and the only way I can reconnect is by turning bluetooth off and back on.
Totally ruined my experience of my watch. Feel like just taking it off now as it's become useless, hoping the latest Android Wear update whenever it comes for the G Watch R may fix the issue but that's wishful thinking as I'm convinced it's a Samsung issue as I had zero issues on my M8.
I use my S6 and my Gear S all the time, never have any issues.
My Tmobile S6 has started doing this again. It did it about a month ago so I did a factory reset which cured it, until yesterday. Now its started again, seemingly out of the blue. Nothing has changed for anything, yet its doing it again. Anyone find a real cure for this? On 5.1.1.
My AT&T S6 still has this issue, any know how to resolve this issue???
I use a moto360 (1st gen). Same issue. Only solution that works for me is a reboot of the phone. The disconnects happen on all my devices, so my car (2015 mercedes) and heartrate monitor (Scosche) have disconnects as well. Therefore this has to be a problem with the S6 itself. Maybe it's not very happy with a 24x7 connection with the watch, as this issue seems to only/mostly affect Android Wear users.
I wish there was an autoreboot app that could reboot the phone every night.

Should I upgrade to 5.1?????

Hi,
Did upgrade to 5.1, started having the usual issues as WiFi not connecting, cellular network issues. Sent the the phone to LG, they replaced it with a new PCB/motherboard. Came back with 5.0.1. Now, the 5.1 is available to upgrade. Should I or stay with 5.0.1?
Every time the phone goes for service, I stuck with an iPhone or blackberry. I hate both devices.

I don't see why shouldn't you, upgrading your Android won't destroy your devices motherboard, it makes your software better and more secure.

You must. In the name of science. So we all, that get those issues, know where the problem is.
Definitely upgrade. 5.1 addresses numerous issues, including a memory leak that was pretty bad, it doesn't completely fix then leak, but it does help. 5.1 runs substantially more stable, and it's also been show to dramatically increase battery duration on mobiles.
But a lot of us have remained with kitkat because of the many reported problems with lollipop. Have these problems been fixed now? Is lollipop better than kitkat? How?
Do xprivacy and gravitybox now work in Lollipop?
Thanks.

[Q] 5.1.1 Update Features

Hey all,
I received the 5.1.1 update for my S6 Edge (Sprint). I've read articles that talk about features like a "Guest mode" (which is available on my Galaxy Tab S Pro 10.5), and other design changes, such as quick panel buttons. I do not see any changes at all in the design or the guest mode feature. Can anyone confirm what actually changed? I see that I am running the 5.1.1 in my device properties, but I can't tell anything else different.
Also, I noticed my camera makes a weird hissing/lens focusing noise every time I open the app. I never experienced that before, seems a bit unsettling. Deciding if I need to do a factory reset or if this is indeed the update. I also noticed some heat issues and the phone may turn off at times. Let me know your thoughts!
The main things I've seen are that you can change the wallpaper motion affect on or off and you can disable the s-finder and quick settings. Other than that its kinda bland and boring (thanks sprint)

Yea, doesn't seem as useful compared to Google's 5.1.1 update for the N5. I'm still running on 5.0.2.

Desperate for help

Hey guys!
I have posted before but since then the issue has exacerbated to the point where I'm at my wit's end.
I have the SM-P907A AT&T version of this tablet. I bought it second hand and started experiencing issues almost immediately, although nothing as bad as what I'm going through now.
It began with the odd blue-screen and very rare restart. It quickly escalated when I created multiple profiles (user ids). The restarts would happen entirely randomly but without fail within 10 minutes of operation no matter what I did. Oddly enough, it would NEVER restart when connected to a power supply, though I have drawn very little from that.
Thusly, I factory reset my tablet and hoped that would fix the issue; to no avail. Then I decided to Odin flash the stock ROM. Again no joy. Restarts were persistent and regular when the tablet wasn't connected to a power supply. I then rooted the tablet, installed Titanium Backup Pro and proceeded to freeze all apps/odex-es related to Samsung Knox. As some have posted, doing this helped them out. Not lucky enough, I guess.
My questions:
Did my setting up multiple users somehow mess with the tablet in such a deep and integrated way that even factory resetting, re-flashing stock would not help? Is that even possible? My firmware version is P907AUCU1AND7. I'm going to manually update to Lollipop but if my meddling with the multiple users "broke" something essential, will that help?
No, proppably not

I don't think that using the multi user functionality has anything to do with the issues you are experiencing. I have 3 user on my tablet and using it for a year now. Both on KitKat and Lollipop that I am using now. Both rooted, KitKat with Xposed also. Never had issues with blue screens and reboots.
Issues with US devices have been posted regularly and explanations have been posted. Don't focus on multiuser for the issues you experience.
I' am using the SM-P905 International version (EUR)
PDA: P905XXUABOG1
CSC: P905EURABOG1
Ridiculous
Okay guys. Seriously ridiculous. I downloaded the lollipop ROM but got an error when adb sideloading it because it requires the previous firmware P907AUCU1ANK2 for it to update properly whereas I have the one older than that: P907AUCU1AND7.
Can someone help a brotha out? Post a link from where I can download it?! Maybe share their stock rom file?! Pretty please? I've managed to find only TWO results on google. One is a mobilefileserver result requiring that I Pay $60. The other is a Chinese site requiring that I pay significantly less but in a way which is baffling me at the moment.
Any good guy out there who can help??????
A member posted links to it in 5.1.1 upgrade posts...

Random restart is the problem of cracked battery connector. Re solder the battery connector will fix it permanently.
Read the thread " Flickering Screen " in Galaxy Note or Tab Pro, you will see they all have similar problem like yours and the fix is simple.
No software or upgrade will fix the hardware problem, regardless Kitkat or Lollipop.

Lenovo TB-X705f P10 tablet random crashes lockups

As the title says, There is no rhyme or reason. open an app crash to home screen. try again tablet reboots. Works fine for days then constant reboots and crashes. Love the tablet but when major apps like facebook. twitter, youtube, just starts crashing and rebooting the tablet something must be wrong. I did just reset the Cache and will see if that helps. I was thinking about rooting and looking for a custom rom. Found the guide for rooting but am not sure if there is a custom rom for this yet.
Anyone else with this tablet experiencing this? I still have a month and a half left on warranty service. Should I attempt to try and get Lenovo to authorize a send to repair or is it not worth the hassle?
Thanks in advance for any help.
You are not the only one as I have the same tablet and therefore have the same problems. It seems like Lenovo is done supporting this hardware. The only way to get around these problems is to install custom firmware.

I have exactly the same problem, although for me it never really works fine for days, at most it last for one hour, then it just crashes for no reason or patron and it makes a sound (it is not a sound of a normal restart, not digital, but it sounds like disconecting a computer from the power supply, like a hardware matter) anyway, did it work for you? I still have one month on warranty service, but It was bought in Finland and now I am currently in Peru, I fear that I wont be able to fulfill my warranty rights.
I will try the solution our friend Bwildered01 suggest us. Good luck and thank you so much!
I just stumbled across this thread...
I have had two of these tablets since 2019 and for the most part they've been great. I use them a LOT and I would say 90% of the time they behave. Sure, every now and again something wonky happens and I have to reboot. However, I think that's true of every computer type device I've ever used.
I don't know if it's a Lenovo thing or a Android Pie thing, but sometimes memory management ****s the bed. Chrome and a few other background processes will slow it down to a crawl. I use a system monitor when this happens and I kill greedy apps that are eating up resources even though I thought I had closed them. That seems to make the tablet happy again.
Are you guys using the latest firmware? Right now you should be at Android 9 with the most recent OTA update from November. The current version is: TB-X705F_S210164_201119_R0W
