Charger for Honor 8

I'm the proud honor of Honor 8 I stole for 150 bucks! I go to charge it and I see that it has a LG charger with similar, but not same specs as the OEM. Is this significant in the charging capability or how fast it would charge?
yes, but other chargers with same 9V/2A quick charging won't charge the device as fast as the stock honor charger with 9V/2A quick charging.

You sure it's not just your unit having this problem? When you charge the phone let's say from 20% left, how long was the estimate for it to get fully charged?

I think that's fast charge already because H8 only managed to receive charge at 2A maximum. in theory it would take 90 minutes to fully charge a 3000mah battery but usually maximum charge only occurs from 0-50% then it slows down gradually.
Mine also take 1 and half hour to fully charge when plugged in to stock 2A charger.

Try the original charger or another cable or another charger. I had this issue on other phones with a 5 in 1 charger (it was bleeding power all over). If that fails try to carefully clean the usb port, and if that fails consider taking it to a waranty to be replaced. But it's most likely the charger.

So now MI A1 has fast charging in oreo beta build

Now Oreo beta build supports Qualcomm quick charge. Details here: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-a1-android-oreo-fast-charging/
Interesting and weird that this was never a hardware limitation

It's sadly true, like the FM Radio available but not easily accessible from app
On my OnePlus charger (5v, 2000 mA), my phone draws 1930 mA on average with Oreo (which is significantly higher than the 900~ mA it did on N).
It did 2000ma with in box charger in my N

I use this to measure and with Nougat, get close to 2A/5v.

The charging current fluctuates while charging, so it might be low when you measured Android N's power draw in mi a1

Well, it isn't proved until someone gets the perfect readings, all when using a QC charger.

Indeed, still gsmarena is a reliable source, also XDA has a article regarding this without quoting gsmarena. Btw, for me current charge time of this device is also decent.

Do we know if the USB-C cable included with the phone is QC compatible? I have a QC charger that I can try to measure with tonight. The Choetech cables that I have are only 5V/2.4A compatible.

Try with a QC compatible cable from a friend or something... And I assume. You are already having the Oreo beta build?
Can I try to flash Oreo with the UpdateEngine magisk module or should I wait for official release?

I think it might be since it can handle the 5v 2amps charging with the original brick that came with the mobile. QC v2 just uses variable (5v/9v) voltage to quickly charge a mobile without needing to go higher than 2amps.
I watched a video on YouTube where that guy tried charging the phone with a quick charger but it didn't work...
It still took 2 odd hours to charge completely

Not on Oreo yet but we need a baseline using the same hardware setup for testing on Nougat before we can have any reliable data on Oreo to compare with.
I'll test with Nougat later, maybe consider going to next Oreo beta (whenever that is). Really don't want to move to Oreo until xPosed is ready though.

How well does it hold the watch in place then? Would it be easy to accidentally bump the watch band and cause the charging to stop?
Not available here yet in UK
Mobile fun say it’s due in 1-2 weeks and will cost £86 with VAT

That’s good as the one that was out with note 9 didn’t come with any cables
Is this thread about the official charger?

How many mA is the charger capable of?

Might be the cable I have as I don't get more than 1400ish mA?
i got close to 6 amps with WARP

Thanks! Found it wierd that there wasn't included a cable. The package was sealed too.
Edit: Found it. DOH, I think I have to go for a check up.
