Charger for Honor 8 - Honor 8 Accessories

I'm the proud honor of Honor 8 I stole for 150 bucks! I go to charge it and I see that it has a LG charger with similar, but not same specs as the OEM. Is this significant in the charging capability or how fast it would charge?

yes, but other chargers with same 9V/2A quick charging won't charge the device as fast as the stock honor charger with 9V/2A quick charging.

You sure it's not just your unit having this problem? When you charge the phone let's say from 20% left, how long was the estimate for it to get fully charged?

I think that's fast charge already because H8 only managed to receive charge at 2A maximum. in theory it would take 90 minutes to fully charge a 3000mah battery but usually maximum charge only occurs from 0-50% then it slows down gradually.
Mine also take 1 and half hour to fully charge when plugged in to stock 2A charger.

Huawei Mate 8 Quick Charge.

Hi.
I have a question about Mate quick charge:
I found that Mate 8 has quick charge future. This future is in the phone or in the charger?
How can I switch between quick charge and normal charge?(there is a label on the charger "Quick charge", So for normal charge I should buy a new charger?)
Will quick charge harm the battery(In long usage and compare to normal charge)?

you can use a certified quick charger or normal charger. Its just the normal charger will take longer..
They have made the quick charge work in a way that it charges fast until it reaches 80%, and then gradually decreases to 'normal' up to 100% full, so in the long run it should have no harm to the battery.

there is no option. you can either use a QuickCharger or a normal charger..
But as i said with a quickcharger it Automatically changes the amperage as it gets more full, so as to protect the battery.

That's nonsense.
Any charger will do. Not every charger will charge the phone as fast as the original one though.
Using an Anker 5-ports charger here, without any issues, obviously.
Really!? Two damaged battery of HTC devices after use Samsung chargers about a mont. Personal experience!!!

OK, i don't want to argue with you. Just share opinion. And for some reason the manufacturer pay attention to use genuine chargers (attached pictures).

those warnings are for non technical minds.. because they done pay attention to technicalities.
Any charger will work, but you do need to take note of the output Voltage mainly...
Amperage will just mean how fast or slow it will charge..
- If i were to use a 9v 2A charger on a 5v 2A phone, i think it may cause harm.
- a 5v 1A charger on a phone 5V 2A, will just mean it will charge half as fast...
- just like when you plug your phone to computer USB port, it charges at 5V 500mAh (0.5A), hence why it charges slowly
Useful info for everyone.

No Quick Charge

I think it's a bit deceiving to give the impression this phone charges fast. It states 5V/2a fast charging. That's not considered fast charging if you ask me. It doesn't support quick charge I can tell you that much for certain. I guess they get away with it by saying fast charging instead of quick charging. Kind of a bummer not to be able to quick charge with such a large battery.
I was surprised too.
Yeah I noticed that on my L24.. but it does seem faster than my kiwi?
It is however pretty quick... About 2 hours to full.

Yes because it was 1A charger for Kiwi and this time is 5V/2A charger.

Yup.
Do not expect the fast charging to charge the phone in 30 minutes or 60 minutes because its 5V/2A charger and not 9V/2A charger, it may charge the phone bit faster than the traditional charger but nothing out of the box here. If you use, 9v/2a cahrger, you may see little difference not much. but once the full 3340 mAh is charged here, you may get a better standby time.
they state 100 minutes for 100 percent.. its good, no big issue for me. tho I'm living with the honor 5x with 2 and a half h needed for a full charge,
it's definitely an upgrade, considering honor 5x
Well having this cheap phone and asking for premium features such as quick charge is a bit too much, don't you think so?
You can't expect Dash Charging at this price point.
That is strange as vmall states that the Honor 6X has quick charge technology.

Ah!
as per Honor India official page on facebook this phone supports upto 9V/2A (18W) input. that makes it 8W more than the standard 10W (5V/2A) supplied charger. that should lessen the charging time.

Honor 6x charger related.

Is it ok to use 5v and 3.4 amp approximately 17.5 watts output charger to charge my honor 6x bln-l21 model? Or it will damage my battery life. I have tested it it charge my mobile but I want to know that it would b ok to charge my mobile with it? Company recommendation is 9v 2amp output charger.
Please help me thanks in advance.

I think you should use stock charger....
Otherwise it will decrease the life of your battery..also can decrease your battery backup..
But the company said it supports fast charging upto 18 watts. And the one I talking about is 17.5 watts charger. Also the stock charger came with smart phone charges very slow 3.30 hour to be fully charged.

It may damage in long term but now a days batteries are designed in such a way that they will suck only power as per there design and architecture. Even if you use 10A charge it may damage but battery will just use the rated power it designed for. It wont accept entire 10A.
You may use 9V/2A charger..if using high rated one, it will just make little difference not charge in half time
Thank you all for your reply and your precious time...
Read this http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries when you'll have 10 minutes like to dedicate on reading these declarations on li-po batteries, to understand better good and bad points that rotates about fast charging personally i never used it, it'd be possible through a custom kernel but in my case, 40-50 minutes to obtain a 40% (that is also what i use daily, more or less...) is more than enough.

you can buy it from honor india website...its available for 750 only
Yes it makes a difference.. As i have both the chargers.. The old one i.e the one came withthe phone charges phone way slowly.. And the phones charge decreases while playing high intensity games like MC5 etc even with charger plugged in to phone. Original Huawei Fast Charger P9 Lite p10 lite p8 nova 2 2i Honor 8 9 MATE 8 y6 2017 phone QC 2.0 QUICK CHARGE adapter
http://s.aliexpress.com/QV3U7Bza?fromSns=Copy to Clipboard
(from AliExpress Android)
I suggest getting just the power brick and not the USB cable, because the cable isn't of great quality (mine got spoilt in a month). However, the power brick is 100% original and works brilliantly.
AliExpress goods take approx a month to deliver though.

[CONFIRMED] .152 Firmware Update ENABLE QC 3.0 Fast Charging.

EDIT : Confirmed. This phone support QC 3.0 now.
Come a bit as surprise,
Updated my P20 Pro C636 to .152 Firmware,
And noticed right away that now IT DETECT my QC 3.0 battery pack charger as Fast Charge (Two Thunder Icon Appear) and it charge with High Current,
Someone who already on .152 and have QC 3.0 charger in their belonging might want to test it as well.
But anyway, this is good addition for me. Since now i can have one battery pack to fast charging all my phones.
Bellow i attached the picture

By "wall quick charger" is it QC 3.0 ? Or 2.0 or standard fast charger ?
Because this phone wasn't meant to support QC standard to begin with, and supposed only work with Huawei Proprietary Supercharge technology, thats why i quite surprise when it now show it as fast charging when am using my QC 3.0 charger.

Not to burst the bubble but fast charge through Huawei's own charge gives up to 4.5A, yours only gets 2.5A and that's not fast charge but possible quick charge that Qualcomm uses.

Yes, that i know. LoL
but prior to this, even using QC 3.0 charger will only give me less than 2A, since it only act as normal fast charging,
so, this might be not doing any miracle,
but at least now i know my QC charger will fast my phone faster than it previously does.

That calculation on the screen is innacurate for most of the time. Because it fluctuate often.
And since his battery is on 70 its normal that the charger doesnt supply full current/volt,
That just how it designed.
And you are right,
For most of the case, our phone will be fully charged in around 2 Hrs using supplied charger
Stock Huawei charger includes both supercharged capable adapter, and cable (look for purple ends)
Outputs 2A, 5A, 4.5A
Uhmm that's interesting.

I don't know if the powerbank lies, or the cables, but I tried different ones.
