Hello guys,
I've had this problem ever since I bought my Diamond last year where every now and then, the touchscreen suddenly becomes misaligned and the phone becomes unusable. Until now, I could always just apply pressure to the screen by rubbing it against my shirt and it got better within 1 or 2 minutes.
However, over the past few days, it's just suddenly gotten a lot worse. The phone's touchscreen suddenly stops responding for a long time, perhaps about an hour (i didnt time it but its bad) and this is a serious problem.
My phone is slightly past warranty and so I don't think HTC will repair it for free. Of course, I'm really regretting not having it repaired during warranty because now they are saying it will cost roughly £90 to get repaired.
My question is, are there any alternative routes I can take to get my phone working properly again? And, if I send my phone to HTC and they send it back unfixed, will they charge me another £90 if I send it back? (the person on the phone was useless at explaining). Also, does HTC still even manufacture Diamonds?
If its out of warranty, and you don't want to spend so much money on it, you can always try to fix it yourself. Digitizers (the piece laid above the screen that detects presses) are pretty cheap on ebay, and I've fixed a few broken phones with them.
Hi,
I own a moto g which accedentally dropped in water. i took it off and it was working fine for few min. After some time i noticed some water inside my screen and my touch was not working. I left my phone for some time. After an hour when i restarted my phone my touch was working. To dry down the water, i kept my phone under shady sun light for about 2 hours. Now when i try to switch it on the led light is blinking 3 times as if it do when the battery drains. I tried to charge my phone and now the LED light is blinking and later it stopped.
my doubt is If my circuits are crashed will the LED light blink. Because i used my phone before if completely dried off.
Can any one say weather to keep hopes on my phone of getting it back or not.
I also had the same problem on the same day you faced, On 31st jan 2015, by mistake I dropped my phone inside a tub full with water, I took it out immediately it was working fine then but after 10 minutes the battery % got down from 30% to 11% suddenly, then I dried it off in the sunlight for almost 2 hours and also kept it in rice for 2 to 3 hours it worked fine but at night when I was talking to a friend the phone suddenly got disconnected and no sims detected message came up then I switched it off and tried restarting it but it never did, then I removed the sims and kept it open under the fan for the whole night and next day I went to the official service centre and handed it over to them it is now in the service centre and they told me that the motherboard is damaged, I did not mentioned anything about the water damage actually, I told them only that my phone is not restarting, since my phone is under warranty the company will provide the motherboard chip and I don't have to pay anything but the thing is that I am very sad because I had recently updated it to lollipop 5.0.2 which was amazing I was really enjoying it but suddenly this happened and I don't think my phone will be the same which it was......:crying::crying
Posted in the wrong thread.
@sivasis Also its not right to deceive moto, you dropped in water and didn't tell them. It was your fault that its damaged not theirs. That's fraud bud.

@alex_is_the_1 I am not blaming Motorola company the thing Is I am just sad that I had many important things in my phone and I loved my phone, the service centre people are taking a lot of time to repair it any day I call them they will just answer that it will take 10 more days and I am pissed. :crying: :crying: :crying: , I am feeling very bad without my phone actually.

I never said you blamed them, I simply said you are deceiving them. If you look under the warranty conditions warranty is void of you caused the malfunction. Which you did by dropping it in water. It may have been an accident but moto does not legally have to fix your mess up. Understand?

You must have had disassemble the device (specially the battery) first then clean it with lacquer thinner before you dry.
Or better to take it in Service Center.
@alex_is_the_1 Whatever be the matter the good thing is today I got my mobile fully repaired and I did not have to pay anything and the bad thing is it has kitkat 4.4.4 version, I have to again download that lollipop update
Last week I dropped my phone in the water. The day after, I disassembled it and put it in some rice. Everything is working fine except for the touchscreen (tested it with a computer mouse). Do you guys think replacing the screen or motherboard will solve the problem? Both are relatively expensive parts so I don't want to waste money if it's not gonna fix the problem. Thanks :good:
I've wiped, I've cleared the cache, I've done just about everything. Please someone help me <3 I'm on a US Verizon S8+ and the touchscreen just doesn't work, it boots to the phone setup then I can't touch anything.
Edit: after a few soft restarts I got the touchscreen working for short periods of time in which I setup the phone, now every couple restarts the touchscreen will work for 30 seconds to 5 minutes.

Take it to Best Buy. Samsung factory authorized repair center. Screen replacement will cost $249.
If it's not cracked and doesn't have any major dents, you could get it repaired for free under warranty. All current S8/S8+ are under warranty since the phone was released not even a year ago. If you dropped your phone and it wasn't bad enough to damage anything, but touch doesn't work, then the phone is very weak. Personally, for a 1200$ device to act up like that, I would treat it as a defect.
2 weeks ago suddenly my phones touch screen from bottom stopped working, I thought it was temporary issue but it's moving on upward, now my touchscreen from right side is also stopped working. All navigation keys are working properly, as well display is working. 2 weeks ago I used my phone in rain for calls but I immediately wiped it off. I have already tried wiping data which didn't help . what should I do now?
Sounds like a hardware failure. Unless your S7 has for some reason lost its waterproofing and water got in the phone, you should take it back to your telco, although it's gonna cost a bit of coin to get the screen replaced if you've voided the warranty.

It's out of warranty, is it possible to replace only touchscreen as display is working fine?
