Google assitant no longer recognizes songs after 8.1 - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Anyone else have this issue? It will sometimes show songs on lock screen if it recognizes it, but if I ask Google what son is playing I get "I can't identify songs yet." Did a full refresh, and still won't work. Tried my wife's Pixel, and now it's broken too. Worked perfect in 8.0

Bad Zune Pass bug?

Does anyone with Zune pass and Mango have this problem?
When playing songs/albums downloaded from Zune Pass, randomly it seems as though the player will lock up at the very end of a song, refuse to do anything else, and require a reboot if you want to continue listening to music. This does not happen with music transferred to the device. Very annoying.
HD7. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I often disable my data connection? Though it still seems to happen over wifi.
nope doesn't happen to me.

It could simply be a connection issue. If you are playing music off the Internet, it of course has to buffer and stream. This could simply be a result of a wonky internet connection, so your phone isn't able to get a reliable connection, so it's trying to get your next song for you, and that may unfortunately lock up your phone.
Probably a beta bug. But I've never experienced it at all.

That makes sense, but this is happening with music that I have downloaded to my HD7 with my Zune pass. Streaming music works perfectly, but downloaded music locks Zune up between tracks. Well it technically doesn't "lock" up, but it does refuse to play any other song and just sits on the last second of the track that locked. Perhaps it's trying to get data from the server or something even though it's already downloaded?

Oh I thought you were talking about streaming music with Zune Pass, downloaded Zune Pass tracks is something different.
I tested out a song and there was no lag at all.
I know that at some point, if you haven't sync'd your phone for a long time, my Zune HD would momentarily stall before playing a song I downloaded with Zune Pass. I assume its pegging the Zune server for license information to make sure I can still play it. But I haven't experienced that on Windows Phone, or even know if Windows Phone does that all (but its technically just Zune so I assume it does do it if I haven't sync'd in a long time). Though if you just upgraded to Mango, you have to plug in your phone for that just recently, so it can't be that.
Maybe just a bug? Corrupted installation? A hard reset might fix that.
nope doesn't happen to me.
I did hard reset my device, and the bug appeared to be gone; however, it has since started up again. Perhaps it happened when I synced my phone to OSX, I am not sure, but it is back. Very annoying, randomly freezing when listening to my albums. It still only applies to music downloaded on Zune Pass.

Yes, I have the same problem with 7712: It doesn`t related with data connection: I tested it with 3g+wifi, wifi without 3g, all data services off. There is the same result: player randomly stopped at the of song for a 5-10 seconds or locked at all.
PS: Phone is Samsung Omnia 7

I've had this problem since upgrading too. Although even since pre NoDo, sometimes tracks would randomly pause and then resume, and then repeat that a few times.
I'm using a Samsung Omnia 7.

[Q] Strange audio problems

I have a strange audio-related issue on my Droid Charge.
This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, I can't seem to track down the cause. When these problems happen, they tend to all happen at the same time as far as I can tell.
I have two custom tones I use, one for the phone ringtone and one for my text message notification. They work just fine, but suddenly and without warning they will stop working. So if my phone rings, it is just totally silent. If I go in to the settings to select a ringtone and choose my custom one, it is dead silent. If I choose any of the other ones that are on my phone, they play with no problem.
I have google voice as my voice mail provider. Sometimes when I go to check my voicemail, I get an error message that says "failed to download recording" See image here: i.imgur.com/IeXNL.jpg sorry you'll have to copy & paste into your address bar - since I'm a new user I can't post links.
When I go to play music, I'll sometimes get the error that says "Error playing the requested track" See image here: i.imgur.com/JjXoG.jpg sorry you'll have to copy & paste into your address bar - since I'm a new user I can't post links.
And this happens with every song in my library (not that i've tested them ALL, but just randomly picking songs out of my list they will all fail in the same way.)
I've noticed that some audio will still work - for example, the sounds in the game "Word With Friends" still works. The sound in the game "FieldRunners" still works. However, the sound in "Angry Birds" does NOT. Also, My email notification (which is NOT a custom sound) still comes through no problem.
If I reboot my phone, everything works just fine right up until it decides to fail again - which could be ANY time - I've had it work fine for a few days before.
I had done some searching on these problems, but didn't really find many related posts (here & general google searching). I found one thread where people were talking about downloading and using SDrescan and it fixed their problems. I did that and it does not help.
I really hate missing calls because I can't hear them. (Fortunately I haven't missed too many.) Then when I do check, I can't hear the voice mail message the caller left from google voice (unless I go to the web interface - then it will play through Moboplayer, but not through the Music app)
I have Rooted and ROMmed my phone, but just FYI, I did have the problem with the ring tones when everything was stock (I just got the phone on July 2). I didn't even set up google voice mail or put music on my phone before I had rooted it. I am using the GummyCharged ROM (v1.9).
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? Thank you - and let me know if any more information is needed to help diagnose this.
EDIT: I also just noticed that if I launch the amazon MP3 store, I cannot listen to any samples - there's no error message - the sample just never plays. The Amazon mp3 store player will also not successfully play any of my music that is stored locally - it just says "error playing song". I also have 2 songs stored in the amazon cloud - it will not play those, either and it gives the same message "error playing song."
EDIT: clarity and grammar - I'm typing like english is not my first language today
EDIT: fixed image links

[Q] Music Manager

My music manager was working fine until one day it decided to crap out and tell me that it couldn't connect to the Google play server when i know I have internet access.
Steps I have taken:
uninstalled and grabbed the newest version and did a fresh install.
Rebooted the PC
Called Google
sent log files to them
held shift when pressing retry and entered the code
called again
They told me it was passed on to a specialist who doesn't work on weekends and also never responds to email and that its been taken care of.
At this point i have convinced myself they don't know what they are doing or nothing is being done since its been 3 days since they have responded on an email with the specialist I have been talking to.
At this point I'm trying to do anything to get it to work so I can upload my new songs and listen on my phone when im in the car.
If anyone has had this issue and could tell me what they did to get it fix that would be great since Google is doing nothing.
Thanks all help is appreciated.

[Q] Google Play Movies

I have purchased some movies from Google play and I am unable to play them on my tablet. Has anyone else had this problem? I had tried both downloading and streaming and I only get the loading circle. Sometimes I will get an error message or the app will stop playing, recently I even had a forced reboot of the device. I have tried playing them on the computer and on my phone and they work just fine. Hope someone has a solution.

There are already threads about this, use the search button.
I myself even reported this to Google, as have others.. I went through their entire trouble shooting process, submitted logs, everything.. and they basically gave me the cold shoulder.
They do not care whatsoever and are not offering any fix or estimated fix date. I know several people have gotten refunds when they press the issue with Google but do not expect them to fix the app.
Bottom line is they don't care since there's not enough Tab 2 users.

Sound Search for Google Play not working.

Since Nougat arrived on my T-Mobile Galaxy S7, the Google sound search app crashes while recognizing the song title. Have installed and uninstalled the app with no success.
Anyone have any ideas?
Registered to reply here. Exact same deal. Cleared cache / data, uninstalled and reinstalled. Might have to find an alternative for the time being.
Exact problem is that it starts listening and plotting its graph, then just stops updating.
I have the same issue. Nothing online seems to address this. After update to Nougat, Sound Search began freezing at the point it recognizes the song. Tried uninstall/reinstall. Tried reboot phone. Nothing works. Very frustrating. Samsung Galaxy S7.
So my problem comes when I try to recognize any song and I go to google search and I say "ok, google" comes up and I tell google to listen to the music to recognize the song, the search starts doing its thing but never tells me the song is playing, any solution?
I've got the same problem. Was any of you able to solve it?
bump for help. widespread issue on nougat
Was anyone able to solve this problem?
