Can't open "mobile network" in settings to check the apn. - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

It's rooted with Ephemeral 9 Rom so I am asking there but just in case it's not related to that I'll ask here. Phone is working fine but in case I need to check the settings or if there is another issue I would like to access the apn. Does it need a hard reset or something? I read in another post with a different Huawei that's what someone did.

Skyfire not working with cooked rom

Hi,
I have tried everything I can think of from changing the data settings to disabling HSDPA. When I use a custom ROM (and I have tried many different ROMs), there are times that I cannot connect to the internet through Skyfire or Opera (and some times PIE). This does not happen all the time, it seems to happen more when I am connected through HSDPA; yet turning HSDPA off does not change anything. Does anyone know if AT&T USA needs a special connection setting? I show that I am connected through "MEdia Net (HSDPA)" when this happens and not 3G or E.
[[edit]] The reason it is posted in the Rom forum is becasue this only happens when using a cooked ROM
You are correct you this post will most probably be booted from here since you should post the problem in the specific rom development thread, but there are no special settings for at&t it should work right off the bat, try establishing a connection with IE first and see if that fixes anything. Also you may want to check and see if the proxy is enabled if so disable it, the at&t proxy does sometimes stop connections with certain programs, i know it stopped the weather app for a while.
Definitely will not work right out of the box. erandhawa is on the right track with the ATT settings. you do need to kill off the proxy.
it sounds like you go from cooked rom to stock just to get your phone working. with that in mind it would seam also that your not changing the radio. make sure that your changing the radio too as just about every rom performs differently with every radio.
I did not post it in the spicific Rom thread becasue this happens on 5 of the roms I use. Well after talking to Skyfire for a while it turns out I do need to disable the proxy (thanks Erandhawa and Peterfnet). As soon as I disabeled the proxy {Start --> Settings --> Connections --> Connections --> Advanced --> Select networks --> MEdia Net --> Edit... --> Proxy Settings --> Uncheck "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet"} I than soft reset and it works great. I also now get weather and my active sync still works. Thanks guys
I know this is a simular post to another skyfire, the difference is this only happened with custom roms.
good to see things worked...just remember everytime u flash a new rom ur gonna have to disable that proxy...also didn't mean an offence i've just seen mods toss posts because they are in the wrong section but the good thing is u got it resolved before the posts got tossed

[Q] After "No Service" it cannot recover

I'm having problem with my Nexus S. When I'm in a place where signals are very bad, my NS will become "No Service" or "Not registered on network". But after i move to a place where signals are back, the phone doesn't automatically recover to online mode but stays as "No Service". I tried to turn on then turn off airplane mode, or go to Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Mobile networks -> Network operators, none of them works. The only solution I had was reboot the phone, which is very convenient. Can you let me know what goes wrong, or anyone else has seen similar problem?
P.S. my ROM is 2.3.2, i didn't do anything to it except auto update from google. My phone is not rooted, either.

This is a WELL-KNOWN bug on the SNS. Download NoBars from the market as a work around. Also, please search before you post questions in the future. It is forum policy.
Thanks very much. Sorry that i haven't done enough reading before posting. I tried to search related posts again and found several posts with your reply I should learn how to use correct keywords next time.

I'm glad you found your answer. NoBars works great but its still rather pathetic that we have to use an app to maintain phone functionality out of our $500 phone =/
i consider downloading an app to make a phone like this operate like the first nokia phone..pathetic. this is not a solution.

Can't restore forgotten wifi network

Hi,
I selected "forget" on one of my home wifi networks and there's nothing I can do to restore it back.
My phone: Atrix 2 ATT running stock 2.3.6
Thanks for any help
Manually re-entering the info is the only way. Once it "forgets" it forgets.

Tried that, it did not help. I can see a new network with that name but there is no signal
From other devices I can see and use the network.

Try a factory reset. I know it is a PIA, but most of the time, that fixes a lot of these oddities.
(1) Try *#*#4636#*#* then go to Wifi API, choose enableNetwork and enter SSID manually.
(2) Change some parameter of the wifi network (since this is your home network I assume it is under your control), last option being the SSID itself, but the pain is, you may have to update all your other devices.

WOW, that might be a painful way to go... try the factory reset before you go to all that trouble. I know it will be painful if I had to make a change to my SSID or anything that major on my netowrk, I would have to change my firewalls as well (2 checkpoint firewall one servers on 2 Sun ultra 10 servers). I know that is not typical, but even anyone who has more than 3-5 devices might regret having to go to each device and changing thier settings just to get thier phone back to seeing the wifi. when and factory reset should fix it.

Thank you all guys. My senses tell me that factory reset should do the job but since the ICS update is so close, I will save the trouble and wait for it, assuming it should work as well.
Just wanted to update everyone. I went on vacation and have connected to many different networks. When I can back, my lost network popped again on my device. My guess is it was hidden inside an internal queue, and once that queue overflowed it popped again.
Perhaps you can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51180156&postcount=2
This works on my I337 NI1 Unlocked Rooted. I uses ES Explorer with Root Explorer enabled.
I went to the "system " folder in the device, scrolled down until I found "build prop" then edited using ES Explorer Note Editor.
Greatly appreciated and high credit to dajumper's work !!

If you look at the post directly above yours you'll see that this was fixed over two years ago. Also, the link you posted is either dead or incorrect as it just goes to "404: page not found". That's not even to mention that this is the forum for the Motorola Atrix 2 so your post is in the wrong forum anyway. If you're just trying to get passed your 10 post requirement then please try to do so in a more constructive way. Thanks.

no mobile data with new roms

Hi, I flashed cyanogenmod 7.2 the other night and everything went great, no problems. Today I wanted to try a couple different roms, I tried Buglees Beast and Codename Android 3.2, both flashed fine but I have no mobile data on either of them. If I restore back to Cyanogenmod everything works fine. Does anyone have any ideas why this may be? Thanks
Just reflashed bugless beast and still same thing, no mobile data. Then flashed cm 9.0 everythin great. I would still like to try the other roms if I can get them to work.
When u flash another ROM and u will have no data connection, go to; settings/more/mobile networks/access point name/ and check if there is access point name of the network u on, if not y need to make APN for ur network.
you have to input your specific carrier settings, check it by going to the carrier website, there should be a section where they list all the necessary settings for the internet to work. you can input it by going to settings->under wireless and networks, choose more->mobile networks->Access point names->menu button, and click on more. after inputting, make sure you enable it. hope this helps. if still doesn't work, try a new radio.

a simple question

hi all a simple question in the version Slimbox v12.2How can I enable or disable TCP/IPv6 ? I want the steps correctly
May I ask what OS slimbox is?
Forget it, try this:
Tap on “Network & Internet”
Tap on “Mobile network”
Tap on “Advanced"
Tap on “Access Point Names”
Tap on the APN you are currently using
Tap on “APN Protocol”
Choose IPV4, which disables ipv6
X96Air
CPU: Amlogic S905X3 GPU: G31™ MP2
slimboxtv.ru
Soz, beat you to it, look at post above the one above this
Let me know if it works.
The method I reported does not work with X96Air
Thanks, maybe someone will come and tell me the right way
You reported a method? Or do you mean what I posted, does not work?
Are you connected via wifi or ethernet?
Regardless, this IS how to, but then perhaps they've updated and removed the possibility to disable ipv6 by removing the choice. I've also read it's isp dependant wether you can or not...
I believe Volte can also be activated/deactivated using mtk engineer tools, but is your box mtk?
welcome
Type of connection via wireless
What I mean is that the method you mentioned does not work with the system X96 Air
I got that, just had to clarify, but tell me can you find ipv4 to begin with?
I'd look closer at mtk engineer tools, you'll have better success, I KNOW the 3.3.3 version of mtk tools has Volte activation/deactivation, but wether it works on your box or not..?
Edit, getting tired lol, forget the volte part, (wrong post) go to network/wifi settings, look for advanced, check for any form of ipv, be it 4 0r 6. Until you find your ipv's in the first place, I cant help if you cant find them?
I will work with you on this, but now I need to rest, been here 6 hours or more lol, dont give up.
WHEN you see ipv 4 OR 6 it's just a matter of selecting ipv4, but I know they intended on removing ipv4 once and for all (sony now attempting to block internet when using ipv4 is the start of this..)
Cya tomorow, dont give up, and dont make more threads asking same question, or you'll get lost like I did trying to help you. keep it here, and we'll get you sorted.
Away to sleep in a low constant earthquake lol....
installed MTK Engineer Mode 3.3.3 APK TCP/IPv4 or TCP/IPv6 Unfortunately it did not appear
thanks for the help
Like I say, If your isp 'sells' you it, you'd see it.
So did you find your nework connection?
It's in there.
Cant help further until you at least find it..?
