[Q] HTC Inspire AT&T no carrier

I just flashed to LeeDroid V3.2.1 on my HTC Inspire. Upon install I have been unable to connect to the AT&T network to place any phone or data connections. I have attempted to change the radio/ril but have seen none of them take care of this issue, when I go through setup to select a carrier, I actually have no company to choose from. Hopefully you can assist me. Thanks in advance

I recently flashed to this rom as well with the same phone without issues. When you say "setup a carrier" i assume you are going to settings --> wireless and networks --> Mobile Networks --> Network Operators and then in here either going "search networks" or "select automatically"?
If this yields no results then I would recommend rolling back to prior rom and then attempting flash again.
If this doesn't work perhaps go back to stock then re-root and attempt flash again.
I know going back to stock can fix a lot of issues such as sound, reception, slow downloads that's why I recommend that option. Also, stock radio should work fine.

EDIT: Also look at the APN settings here is a link to it for your phone could be something there.

I also was going to suggest taking a look at the APN settings.

Sorted this issue out with a web due moment, I had the cover off and didn't realize it had a pair of contacts that were required to have the sim card seated. Sometimes It's the simplest answers.

[Q] MIUI without data?

Hey everyone
i'm pretty new to the whole nexus s scene, as i've had this device for about a week now. I've rooted my phone successfully and i'm running MIUI's latest ROM..1.8.5 i believe. Now for the problem..
For some odd reason I'm unable to connect to my 3G network at all (yes, data is enabled in the settings, and set to 3g prefered/2g/only 3g..still nothing). Usually there'd be that green "3G" on top bar of my screen, but it doesn't show up. Now i rely on wifi to go online, which isnt a problem...but it feels like my money's being cheated if i dont use my data in occasional situations. I've tried flashing it again and again, but no results. I've flashed my phone to the Oxygen ROM, and the little 3G icon appeared, indicating that data is enabled (i forgot to actually check if it worked LOL). I haven't found anyone else experiencing this problem with MIUI, but i've found threads on them having some sort of difficulty with their data. If anyone could help me out, or direct me to a thread that has a possible solution, i would really appreciate it ~ thank you in advance.
Also, I'm on Fido.....if that helps.

I'm on the latest miui and I don't have that issue try toggling the airline mode to see if it will kick it in. If not really download the Tom and do a clean install see if that works.

What happens when you try to connect with just 3G (what type of error do you receive)? Miui's stock 3G icon is white

He meant rom, auto correct changes the word rom, I think you need to wipe and reflash the rom.

hey, i've just tried reflashing the rom...and still no 3g ): !
also, when i enable data, and set it to 3g..there's no error. there's simply no "3g" icon on the top, and i can't connect.

Did u try manually inputting your apn? Sometimes providers don't push the settings to you

Go to menu>settings>system>mobile network setting>access point names. Do u have an entry there? You should. If not, you need to check with your network provider for the settings.

i've just tried putting in the APN settings (copied the stuff from the APN settings when 3g works on the oxygen ROM). is there anything else i havent filled in and should? cuz....it still doesnt work

Not really. Create it, fill it, save it, choose it and restart. Should work, it always did for me

How's the battery life on that rom

Seems ok to me. 3g uses alot of juice since the service is crappy in my country. Otherwise, best rom I tried

dang :/ still nothing... i've noticed something though. when im on my oxygen rom and search for networks..the option "Fido" pops up. when im on MIUI, the option "Rogers Wierless" pops up in the place of "Fido" .___." that may have something to do with it...

Same problem here on desire s.
When I try to change the apn setting I get a force close.

Can't enable data in phone information menu

Hey guys, despite having the correct APN I can't enable data on my wifes Sensation.
Tried my own SIM to no avail and tried different firmware to make sure it wasn't an incompatible radio or RIL.
S-off, Super CID, created SIM data in HBoot but wondering if I should maybe repeat that step again or should I try something else?
I'd tried GSM/CDMA auto PRL because it always switches to WCDMA preferred after flagging a new firmware but I can't enable a data connection no matter what. If someone fixes this I'll throw them an immediate reward via Paypal. New to the Sensation and poised for time unfortunately. My wife really needs this working so thanks in advance. I'll keep researching.

first open the dialer
Type *#*#4636#*#*
select phone info
look for the only drop down box - hit it - choose wcdma prefered - hit back 3 times
Go to menu settings woreless and networks
hit mobile network - it need to be ticked
hit mobile networkS hit APN or Access point names - hit the menu button - choose reset to defaults
go back to mobile networks - choose network mode, select wcdma only - look for the 3G or h sign when it shows go back and choose gsm/wcdma auto
if that fails do a manual net work selection - choose your networks 3G option

Not sure if you fixed this yet.
If johnerz method did not help,try deleting your APN values,reboot,then re-install them...

Sweet mother of pearl it's still not working! Even got Rogers to do a network re-registration and nothing. Trying everything again with a new SIM card, new ROM and different firmware. This is exhausting.
Thanks for the help though, guys! I'll keep trying those steps.

All right, flashed a new ROM and repeated the abovementioned and it WORKED!!! I think someone was messed up with the Virtuous ROM I was using. They updated it and I downloaded it and that worked. I re-downloaded it earlier through my computer and checked the MD5 sum and it was good. Very weird.
In any event, flashed the appropriate firmware with a good radio and RIL and she's got great reception! So stoked. Now I just have to make sure she doesn't go over her data plan because that'll cost me a fortune as well... women!! lol

Installed custom ROM, now I can't access the web using data

Hey everyone,
I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere else, so I'm going to post my issue here.
I purchased a Nexus S today through a private sale, and rooted it and all that good stuff...and I installed the "Apex ICS ROM". Everything seems to be working okay except for my data plan. I can access web pages only when on Wi-Fi, but when I disconnect from Wi-Fi I get nothing.
I know the issue must reside in the ROM, because earlier today the phone was running Gingerbread (2.3.6) and everything was working perfectly.
If anybody has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it!

Reflash back to stock and try again

You just need to enter your carriers data settings.
Menu > System Settings > More.. > Mobile networks > Access point names > Menu > New APN > {enter server info from carriers site} > Menu > Save
Data should work after that.

make sure you have the right apn setting for your carrier, so i suggest you to go on internet and look for appropriate settings, or gimme your carrier and i will help you to solve the problem. if you're 100% sure with your carrier settings, flash a new radio. hope this helps.

[Q] Lost data signal randomly, what can I do? (solved)

I was walking around school today, listening to slacker radio. Out of no where, the music stopped. I looked at my phone, and it said there was no signal. I didn't think much of it. I figured there was some sort of outage. When I got home and put my SIM in my old phone, I found it did indeed have a data signal. So I put my SIM back into my galaxy and again, no data. I can still make calls and send mms, but I can't connect to the internet, my email, the store etc. I have tried flashing between the stock ICS rom and CM9. I don't know what else to do. I was going to try flashing a different kernel, but would that even make a difference? Can someone help me?
Also, I did check the settings to make sure data was turned on and all that jazz.

same hir a couple week ago .i have my data connection.. and evry day i always flaahing and testing a new rom. and my data betwork.is still working.. but 1 week aho i lost my data connection.. i also try to flash stock rom.. and re activate my data network but still not working

Well, I tried re-flashing the kernel, with no results. My next step is gonna be flashing a new modem unless someone else has a better idea.

Try fixing permissions. Also are you sure TMOB didn't cut your data for some reason?

I'm not on TMOB. I had to unlock my phone so I could get it on a local carrier. It worked fine for a day, then just quit.
Just tried fixing permissions; does not help.

Fixing permissions never hurts anything. It's good to at least once a week anyway. The next thing I would try is checking your APN to make sure it matches what your carriers settings are. Flashing another modem wouldn't hurt anything either but if the one you had was working fine I'd look at the APN setting first.

Stands for Access point name:
All Hail Wiki
You can find it under settings>wireless networks more>mobile networks>Access Point Names. You'll have to do a google search for your carriers correct APN settings. Just make sure they match if not hit left soft key. New APN and enter the correct info. Then left soft key again to save it. Then select it and reboot.

You sir are a genius. Thank you a ton. I called my carrier, and got the settings. My phone works great. Now to try new roms.
