I do not see previews of photos and movies when connected to the PC.
I've had that problem ever since mtp became standard.

Just recieved my otg cable and it works well when I hook up my ntfs hard drive to it using ntf mount app. However, I cannot figure out how to mount my digital camera so I can transfer pictures over. I'm using timat kernel with USB mass storage enable. What exactly so I need to do? I have a cannon digital rebel xti and it supports PTP. I've tried all the different kernels, currently using timat Riptide edition

Same question....anyone?
On an unrooted Xoom the camera shows up in gallery app and you can transfer pictures from there. I assume the same when rooted.
However I have yet to figure out anyway to transfer videos from my camera.

Hi, could I check whether the camera is mounted as a folder in the file system so that I can access photos on the camera using other apps?
Searched and couldnt find anything on this.
I am trying to import a bunch of photos and videos that I took with the GNex (4.0.2) to my computer (Win7 64bit). I have tried using MTP and also connecting my phone and using a media file importer (Windows Live Photo Viewer) and nothing seems to work. It is constantly freezing.
Anyone know any tricks to get this on my computer without using ADB?
Thanks...
Use a cloud service as an intermediate step. Upload the files from phone to Dropbox, for example, and download them from there to your PC.
i have a ps3. i used to stream movies saved on my desktop to my HD screen through ps3 using a program on the computer called ps3 media share.
Can i do the same using my galaxy note over wifi. I am asking both ways like working as a reciver and a server. can i make ps3 play movies on my note wirelessly.

i acctually found aVia. I managed to watch movies stored in comp on the nice note screen. it has problems with fullHD movies ones larger than 5Gb. but not a big deal i can live with it. i think mobile wifi connection is a bit slow and this is the reason.
2nd i tried to browse mobile content from ps3, ps3 found a device call note but cant see any files inside. i really care for the first more, but why not make it all work

I'm having a similar problem to one I noticed in a different post, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1987102 . I need to save HD video to an external storage device directly, as this guy wanted to do. However, every camera app I've tried, and ursafe media director doesn't recognize my usb otg hard drive as a location. the only way I can browse it is through file manager. Any suggestions? I have a Lenovo S-3000, takes 1080p video, and I want to be able to record directly to a thumb drive with it. Thanks in advance!
