i have a ps3. i used to stream movies saved on my desktop to my HD screen through ps3 using a program on the computer called ps3 media share.
Can i do the same using my galaxy note over wifi. I am asking both ways like working as a reciver and a server. can i make ps3 play movies on my note wirelessly.

i acctually found aVia. I managed to watch movies stored in comp on the nice note screen. it has problems with fullHD movies ones larger than 5Gb. but not a big deal i can live with it. i think mobile wifi connection is a bit slow and this is the reason.
2nd i tried to browse mobile content from ps3, ps3 found a device call note but cant see any files inside. i really care for the first more, but why not make it all work

Hey what do you guys like for video streaming? What about Jetflix? I am thinking about trying it but Im not sure
Not sure peoples obsession with netflix lately, hell im watching netlfix right now!, i did use it on my htc incredible which was fully supported, untill they get it running on the charge i will continue to use Plex for video streaming i Love my PLEX available from market, used with a plex media server available plexapp.com on my windows 7 server with decent specs. I stream ANY of my 4 terabytes of video content stored on local hard drives. to my droid charge, if you have decent home internet along with a decent video collection i highly recommend it
Hey dabomb...ive been trying.to set up plex as well ..but for claritys sake, youre streaming your videos to your phone outside of your home network to your phone via 3g/4g? Or just within your home network?

I really like Emit Free but it only works locally right now. (WiFi only)
I've tried PlayOn, VLC, Gmote, SAMBA, etc, and never found a really acceptable solution for this until now.
Plex is in one word awesome. It works great inside and outside your home network. If you are having trouble accessing plex outside your local network go into advanced settings on your plex app flush the cache. This is a known issue and they are working on a fix for the next release.
I am assuming you have already forward your ports from your router.

Okay so my main reasoning to purchasing this tablet was primarily based on the fact you can view pdf's for school like books and such...
Which brings me to the question of?...
Wireless Flash Drive?
Now i want to be able to wireless sync the tablet as a flash drive and transfer files for school instead of carrying around a flash drive is this possible by any means??... (Needs to be MAC compatible or no to little software towards the computer because i do not have Administrator Access on the computer side..)
Wireless streaming Solutions?
okay so i figured out a way to browse the files on my computer using my tablet using an application called File Manager but how do i stream video and music from my tablet the opposite way? (use my computers monitor and speakers wirelessly from the tablet?)
this might be what you are searching... make use of allshare...

BubbleUPnP will probably do the trick, assuming you have a client on the computer that supports DLNA/UPnP streaming.

Use "VLC Direct" you can stream music and video both ways... tablet to computer, or computer to tablet. Its not on the market right now, it got kicked off when google messed up there market and everyone accounts. go to vlcdirect.com, you should be able to download it from there and read about how to use it. Its a great app I use it daily
You do need the pro version to use all of the features

I couldn't get bubble upnp or skifta to work properly remotely. Try subsonic, it is java based and set up through a browser, so I think it should be Mac compatible. Works great to stream music and video to Android devices over 3g. As far as the files, maybe look into setting up a ftp server or just use dropbox

Hi all,
Recently i created a thread about some remote connections that were not really working out that well on the TF300..
Nobody gave me a response so i try it again ..
Somehow remote connections wont work properly on the TF300.
Unified remote and DLNA features wont work. Sometimes i can see my laptop and stream music to it but an hour later i have to reboot, restart apps, enable wifi disable, whatever to get it to work.
This problem is also in the unified remote app.
Now this can't be a problem on the tablet because my dad, with exactly the same tablet got exactly the same problems..
Come on XDA help me
Few things first....
My net app of Asus is crap... use bubble upnp
Don't use WiFi direct... it is not supported yet in jelly bean

So what do you think is the best app for DLNA playback ?
Bubble upnp

Upnplay : free from the market. Lousy interface, but fast and reliable. Has ability to have unlimited cache (=available memory) to load song and video listings.
I also often use J River Media Center (paid windows app) combined with Gizmo (free on market) on Android. That's the only solution which works fast enough with a very large (>100.000 songs) music collection. You need to leave your pc on and have JRiver running though, but it works great for all music, video & pictures that you manage on the pc through JRiver. Really, really fast.

i've been using similar apps like Skifta or twonky beam to serve videos from my tablet to my DLNA smart TV.
one limitation i realized is that they either only stream LOCAL files (on tablet), or stream from selected websites only.
is there any app that allows true mirroring of the tablet screen to my TV? i.e. there should be no restriction in the website i want to stream from.
i'm using HP touchpad on the latest CM nightly build.
TIA!
anyone knows?
I would like to know but as long as I've searched I didn't find anything that would mirror ur phone screen to TV, maybe vlc (the way it's fine one computers)
As for streaming any website it may be possible but no app as of now

seeing how Airplay is a huge success on apple devices, i'm confused why android doesn't offer a similar solution. still on the lookout for an app that can mirror anything that i stream from a website, from tablet to TV.
Imediashare is great. Not sure if it can do any website though..

any other suggestions? have yet to find an all in one solution yet.
thanks.
Would it be possible to cast whatever is on your tv to your phone? Looking at vr headgear and wondering if there is a way to play xbox on my tv, cast to my phone then split the image in half so i could play vr xbox one idea sounds simple but wondering if it would be possible. And sorry if it has been asked before or if I come across as a noob but simple question.

Unless you have 300Mbps Internet access for your phone and your Xbox, you'll be limited to playing it within 20 meters of your Xbox with a ping of 2 seconds. This is a terrible idea in real life, but theoretically you could get a video capture card to a pc to get your output from your xbox into a pc which could then broadcast the video to wherever you want.
I simply want to stay in the same room as my tv and stream whatever image or video is on my tv screen to my phone screen. A reverse chrome cast i guess. Then once the video stream is on my phone simply cut the screen in half and have both portions run the same stream. So you could place your phone in the Google cardboard and have vr or 3d of whatever is on the tv. Would you need a transmitter on the tv or Bluetooth maybe or thru wifi. Hope what I'm saying makes since

Found app trinus vr in app store. Install it and then install on your pc. Allows you to cast whatever is on your pc to your phone so you can view in vr on the Google cardboard. Windows 10 allows you to hook your pc up and stream xbox to your pc. So this app is doing exactly what i was looking for. Figure i would give a heads up to anyone interested.
