Hello,
Is Gear Sport safe for use in sea salt water? Mediterranean or Red Sea.
From my mechanical watches past I remember recommendation to put a watch in a fresh water after sea bathing, to remove salt.
Is it the same for Gear Sport?
Thanks!
Hmmmm.
You could try...
But maybe look at this, about Quality... Gear S3:

Only as hint.
So at your own risk to test your SM-R600 in salt water...
Best Regards
Yes reading all the reviews that mention it it should be safe to use in sea water, probably worth rinsing off with fresh water afterwards though.
The sport was made with saltwater in mind. It is the only Gear watch that claims to be protected from it, so you should be fine.

I am looking for a wateproof case for this phone. I know it is supposed to have water resistant abilities, but I am a runner who goes out in the rain a lot and I always take my phone for music. I want this phone, but I need to be able to get something for it to let me have it all the time.

I use a drybag with an armband that was designed for the Samsung S5 (perfect size). If you use bluetooth then you can fully close it and even take it in the pool. If you are going to have the headphones popping through, then a ziplock might be just as good.

Do you have the specific brand of dry bag? I want one that someone says they know works I need it to survive rain, but I like my old S4 Active because I never have to worry about it getting wet. I don't understand why there isn't a market for waterproof cases like the LifeProof case for more phones.

I have not dropped this one in the water, but for sweat and rain it is proven to work for me. I use with a blutooth if I want headphones, but I mostly carry it in a jersey pocket while cycling and no headphones.
Here are initial photos of my Classic with different watch faces.
I will post more photos after changing my watch straps, but so far, I'm loving this smartwatch!
Rolling a brown leather strap (don't care for black leather on a black watch) and a Captain America face I made on Mr. TimeMaker
Here is mine with watch faces I made with MrTimeMaker.
I will be getting two brown straps soon, will post an updates. :good:
Got a new strap!
My dark brown leather strap arrived today!
I say it looks much better than the default black strap!

Very nice Watch faces, too!
Where did you get them?
-ThyMaster
It's called Gear O'Clock Swiss Sense.
You can change background colors also on that watch face.

Gear O'Clock Swiss Sense.
Matching watch face!
It's fun to match the watch face designs to the dark brown leather strap.
Here's what I had for a group presentation today.
The watch face name is "Fusion."
Here are some photos of my classic.

That is a gorgeous strap, where did you get it. I am just about to pull the trigger on my first SW. Figured the GS2 will pair up nicely with my Note 5

I got the strap from Amazon. If you search for ceramic 20mm, you will find it. It comes from China so it takes awhile to be delivered.

That looks wonderful!
I have ordered the same band a couple of weeks ago and am waiting patiently while enjoying the brown leather strap for now.
Does everyone here have small wrists, I'd say mine are average male but the watch look tiny.
In all the photos here the watches look nice and chunky
Post a picture of your arm.
Might not be as average as you think.
Anyway, the watch is big enough. Bigger and you cant wear it in the gym,
which is a sellingpoint for me. My watch from Certina is just a little bit bigger.

It's a question of personal taste. I've got used to large watches but I figured the Gear S2 classic would be perfect since I have small wrists. Once I got it though, my first thought was that it was so small lol. Tbh I would prefer it if it was slightly larger, but it's not really a "small" watch...If anything, it's standard size but may be too small for anyone used to the oversized watches currently in style. My two cents, in the end it comes down to what you want on your wrist I guess

True is the same as a few of my watches but I think the measly 20 mm strap don't help.
I found my Gear 2 was big and could not slide under my shirt cuffs, be nice trying the S2 out tomorrow.
Ceramic strap just arrived!
Gear S2 Classic looks great with my newly arrived ceramic strap.
The surface finish of the strap fits well with the Gear S2 Classic's ceramic coated surface, as if it's made for the watch originally! Love it~
Have had my Samsung Gear S2 SM-R720 Smartwatch from new for 6 weeks. Last night I got up from my chair, returned to sit down and saw my Watch lying on the chair, could have happened outside the house, anywhere... The Rubber Vulcanizing, or Glue? manufacturing process, to the stainless steel fixing clip had come adrift. I did manage after a while to get the fixing clip off the Watch. Apparently I am not alone with this fault and hope that Samsung has now opened a Data Base on this recurring Design Fault and that it is not a "Water" etc problem.
Has anyone found a more reliable Strap on the market please? Donny5
The non Samsung silicone ones on Ebay have worked great for me. Picked one up for like $10.

Have found another good supplier of Watchstrap for my Samsung Gear S2 , it's MoKo from Amazon. I had a hassle with Samsung, have to book in and return whole watch for a known common fault on the strap link with the Watch.
TIP: Before you connect the new strap put the slighest smear of Vaseline on the oblong fixing hole associated small plunger. I hope that Samsung have a Data Base set up and and are recording all these known mechanical faults.

Does the Gear S2 have any swimming strokes tracking either inbuilt or third party?
Thanks!
Since the watch is not water proof I wouldn't recommend wearing it while swimming. If it gets water in it you won't be able to make a warranty claim

Happy to take my chances. If anyone knows if there are any let me know.
Thanks!
Recently i noticed on gear s3 site, marking classic version as not water resistant

That's odd I have the classic version and it is water resistant. I have put it under water fine with no problems. That was a selling point of the watch for me and as the only thing that was different from the watches was the body language. I'll check my oem box at home and see if it says water resistant
I just checked the box of my classic gear s3 and its IP68 waterproof - has anyone gone swimming with it?
Just checked mines and it is ip68. I haven't gone swimming with it but showering or washing the watch is perfectly fine
I am looking to purchase the gear S3 and I'm doing one of those rugged maniac races in June - does anywhere here know if the watch will survive being dunked in puddles or possibly muddy water for short period of times? It won't be submerged for long time and no more than a foot submerged I believe. I see on the website that it is ip68 and I researched what that means, but still kind of skeptical.

Someone may have better info but they do have warnings about the "ports" that work for the altimeter and barometer and the speaker. Water probably dries but muddy water might leave deposits. Download the pdf manual.

I agree with the above poster. I've had mine under water several times without harm, but what you're talking about would make me hesitant. Dirty water is one thing but you're probably talking about extremely muddy water.
