Hi,
I want to create a watch face for my S3 so that the background will be an Omega seamaster black (like my regular watch) and have the following metrics displayed on the screen:
1. Date DD/MM/YY
2. Daily activity data: steps, distance (meters), floors climbed
3. Altitude (ft)
4. Barometric pressure (hPa)
5. Battery status
I tried using the Gear Watch Designer for windows and could not find the majority of the above.
I'd appreciate your help.

Hi.
As far as I know, metrics 3 & 4 are not available to be selected or shown on the watchface in the current Gear Designer (v1.5.0beta). Someone else might know better. The other metrics are available, I believe.
If you can post a screen shot of the version of the watch you want (as there are no. of variations), I can see if it's available for easy editing.
Thanks.
Omega watch face
Hi tha700,
The watch model is ref: 212.30.41.61.01.001
Omega Seamaster 300m Quartz
Caliber Omega 1538
Case diameter 41mm
For some reason I'm unable to upload it here, but here's the sample image name in high res: omega-seamaster-diver-300m-black-bezel-ladies-bracelet-watch-p324-15438_image.jpg which is available via google (again, sorry, no laziness on my part).
Another face option could be one of the following Breitling Professional models (which I still don't have):
CHRONOSPACE MILITARY
EXOSPACE B55
EMERGENCY
COCKPIT B50
Thank you for you help.
I tried playing with the GWD, which is easy enough, but most of the metrics I want are not available there and I don't know where to find the resources.
After creating this face, I'd like to explore on my own.
Thanks!

Hi.
I have copied the dial and hands for the Omega watch. Assuming you know how to put these together in Gear designer.
Regarding the metrics, Samsung does not allow you to put weather metrics together with health/sports metrics on the same watch face. So, you can select one set or the other, not both. These are available on the Components side bar on the left; in both Complications and TexT, where you can pick the ones you want.
Also, I suggest you hide these so as not to lose the beauty of the dial. This is done by moving the dial image on top of the complications in the timeline sidebar (bottom left). The complications won't show, but they will pop-up when you touch the area of the dial where you have placed them.
I hope that helps.
Thanks.

This is great, thank you.
Yesterday I fiddled a bit with the complications (what a strange definition) but not with the text. I also found how to use the panel on the right.
I'll give it another go tonight.
Would it be too much trouble to try and lighten a bit the lower portion of the dial? I don't know how to use Photoshop.
Many thanks.

Hi.
Here are some more modified pics. Do you know how to use MS Powerpoint? If so, then I can show you how to edit images (i.e. dials, hands etc), more easily there.
On the right side, after you have chosen the date from the complications on the left, you can then modify the date format. Select the date first and look for Type on the right. The ICU format is where you can change it. The default is dd, and if you click the arrows, it will show you other options, plus More. Select More to see the full format options. You will be able to change to get your ddmmyyyy.
Thanks.
I saved the bottom one and imported into GWD.
Resized the picture so that it fits perfectly into the guide circle. However I must be doing something wrong, as the 3 time hands (which are centered to the guide, of course) do not fully cover the center hole.
[edit]
I played a bit with the location but it's still not perfectly aligned (it protrudes in the top left quadrant).
Disregard the counters I placed.

Hi.
It's a common problem because the hands are not built for that particular dial. The fix is to cover the hole with a black circle. Here's a quick way to achieve that.
Go to complications and select the date - the 2nd one - as that has a black round shape behind the date. Delete the date as you just need the circle shape. Move the circle to the centre (there's a centre button for that under the word File at the top), and re-size. I think it defaults to 30, so make it 35x35.
That should cover the hole.
Also, I copied the correct Omega hands for you for this watch. If you want to use them, do the following:
Put your mouse over each and right click (in this post) to save them first (sorry if you already know this). Then, in Gear Designer, select Watch Hand from the Component sidebar. Then select Import Image at the top. Once the image comes in, you can move it in place. Because you brought it in as a watch hand, it will assume all the attributes of a watch hand. You then select from the right to set the image as Hour, Minute, Second. One thing, you will need to set the pivot for each hand, which is easier than it sounds.
First, go to the main pull-down menu (at the top) and select View. In view, select show pivot. Now when you bring in any hand, it will show you a star shape on or near the hand which is its pivot. When you have moved/aligned the hand to the correct place, make sure the pivot is in the centre, as the hand will rotate on this pivot. Do that with your mouse and also press shift to maintain the aspect ratio. To make it easier to align, you can also select from View - Show Coordinate Axis - which helps a lot as it shows you the horizontal and vertical axis and where the centre is.
Bring in each hand and set as hour, minute and second from the right. The second's hand has a sweep option, so set that in [Movement Effect] to get the sweeping motion of an automatic watch - if you want.
The pivot is important when you start adding chrono hands to subdials, as you will need to properly set the pivot for each smaller hand in the subdial - but that's more advanced stuff that you can try later.
Anyway, Good luck.
p.s. In case the ordering of items has not fully sunk in, I can just add that the Timeline (bottom left) shows you the list of every item you have in the main window. By selecting any item in the timeline (which highlights with blue), you can then move it up or down. The topmost item will be most in front in your main window - a bit like layering or a hierarchy. That's how you can hide the complications on your dial (i.e. Battery %, Heart Rate etc.). If the dial image is above these in the list, then they will appear hidden, but when you build the watchface, you can then tap the screen where they are located on your watch and they will show, in most cases.
Thanks.
Got it.
Thanks!

Hi, I have created a simple app that visualizes your SMS inbox as a cloud of words (size based on word usage) - currently I seek for few users with 2.2 device for beta tests. Please check Visual Words at Market (free) and report your experiences in this thread. Thanks for help!
PS. The app may behave strange depending on your SMS inbox size and content - if you see blank black screen only please try clicking the screen to change visualization settings (check on the app webpage for details).
Only Froyo is supported? Sounds like a fun app to toy with a little.
Niice idea , yeah i'll beta test if you want't
ill beta test too if you want. angeldelaguarda [at] gmail(dot)com
I installed and played around with the app. It has some entertaining possibilities. Some things I noticed..
(Nexus one running rooted eViL 1.15)
-Words are tiny.
Suggestion: Show words that are used the most, maybe even bigger words based on how often they occur. (Doesn't seem to do that at this point.)
-Some times it includes the (1/3) (2/3) parts of the messages.
Suggestion: I'm not really a fan, perhaps removing them would bring a little more polish. Not a really a big deal though.
-Words do not fill the screen.
Suggestion: I have over 400 text messages but it only fills just the corners of the screens. There is a HUGE black area in the middle thats not doing anything, would be nice to try and fill the screen as much as possible.
I'm still playing with it, I'll let you know if I come across anything else.
Some screen captures:

Thanks for the test - I am quite surprised that all words seem to have exactly same font size ... I think/hope that changing the scale to logarithmical in options and clicking then when it displays the screen touch it according to the instructions below should help:
* Top left will decrease the number of words while top right will increase it (starting at 500, increase by 20%, decrease by 10%, 5 words minimum).
* Bottom left will decrease the font range, bottom right will increase it (starting from 10pt to 60pt, increase by 20% decrease by 10%, 6pt to 36pt minimum).
* Center Left will decrease the logarithmical scale, Center Right will increase it (making the “scale curve” more steep). It requires plenty of clicks - changes are relatively slow at the beginning (increase with each click though).
please check by clicking - increase word count few times (upper right corner) and increase font size few times (bottom right corner).
thanks for the comments on (1/x) - I have a list of words being removed will add few of these.
For all others willing to test - the app is in the market - look for "Visual Words" - feedback is highly appreciated - make sure to touch the screen to change the settings.
Increased and decreased font size, and pretty much messed with UI to get it to break, everything seems like its working as intended.
(This was what I was expecting with the first image of words.)
Thanks for the effort on testing - I will surely look into what can be done to have the right scale from the very beginning. (not very simple as the inboxes across the globe will vary significantly)
Second point on my todo list is giving the user ability to fliter words (I do have a small "filter list" but looking at your screenshot I see much more, and it actually will be language dependent) ...
Third will be the sender filter I think.
Thanks again and I hope you had fun playing with it.
PS. posting a comment on Market that it actually works will help to countermeasure the comment I got from initial version where there was no option to scale via user interface...
Added a comment to the market, also marked the other as unhelpful since it's no longer valid.
Keep it up
Seems to work as intended. I must be thick, but I don't understand what it does...I mean, I do...but I don't see how this is going to benefit me.

I'd love to give this a test, how can I get hold of it? PM me if possible.
This concept seems like a good idea for a livewallpaper. Ill beta in a minute downloading now (if it's not gonna work on any phone it wont work on mine) and post a logcat if applicable.
Edit: Works well on HTC Dream with modified lcd density, added review and marked unhelpful one as such.

That would be pretty nice actually, just change the background when a new text message is received... humm...
Once I fiddled with the corner touching I was able to get a nice picture.
My suggestions:
Auto detect screen size and render at an appropriate size by default.
Provide an OSD with buttons for the adjustments (similar to zoom on stock browser)
Default to logarithmic scaling.
Provide a spinner to let us know the application is doing something.
Run the calculation in a background thread as to not block the UI and possible cause a Force Close prompt.
Ran it on some friends phones with equally awesome results. All that's needed is general UI polish and you'll have a really clever application.
what does this do?
I am down for beta testing but aside from guessing it has something to do with txt messages I have no idea what this app does...can someone explain?

Sure, I'll do my best.
Visual Words reads the words from the SMS messages on your phone and places them on the screen in no particular order. When you touch the center of the screen a different set of random words will fill the screen. Press in the bottom left corner and the words shrink, bottom right, and they get bigger. (Some words are bigger then others when they are used more frequently, so over time, you could be able to see which words you favor in your text vocabulary.)
This application is merely entertainment, just more of a artsy kind of entertainment. This isn't something that is going to do your math homework for you, or complete your project deadlines.
But at this point, who knows where playground is going to go with this, the code itself has to be pretty interesting if nothing else.

Thanks that was a very good description of the app. I think seesmic was doing something similar to this in their pc client for twitter.
So is this an app that you open and then it has those effects or does it run in the background and you have words floating around your screen all the time or does it just pop up when ever you get a txt message...how does it work?
I like it
I wonder how big the word viagra would be if it worked on email.
i would like to be a beta tester for your application it looks really amazing.

!!! NOW FREE IN THE MARKET !!!
This is a LiveWallpaper app based on the Nexus LiveWallpaper from Google, but with full controls over everything you can imagine giving you full control over this wallpaper without the need of a themer or developer to modify it for you.
This is an FAQ/Instruction type post which outlines the capabilities and controls of Pl3x Wallpaper 4.x
Why would I stop charging for this app and give it out for free? I've learned that people love free things, and are more apt to try my works if I offer them for free. Later down the road, when I publish more apps I might throw a paid app back out there.
Now on to the good stuff! How to work this thing!
The Wallpaper Items:
There are 3 main parts to this wallpaper, the images. We'll cover those first, as the rest of the controls dont mean squat unless you pick these images wisely.
The Background Image
This one is quite obvious. Its the actual wallpaper of this application, and is automatically resized to 854x960 for you (will upscale/downscale from there for different devices automatically), so you can feel free to use images from your Camera's save folder. If you use an image that is not in this 854x960 aspect ratio (8:9) it will automatically be stretched and skewed to fit. (better ratio/size controls will be introduced in v5)
The Sprite Image
The Sprite is the "square dot" on the Nexus LWP, or the Circle 3 in the above left screenshot. It is a small image, at only 64x64. You can use larger images if you want, they will be automatically resized to 64x64 for you. Just be careful of stretching/skewing!
This image is very special, as its not used straight up as you might expect. Google uses their private API named RenderScript to modify this image heavily, giving it a "glow" effect of a light. In that regard, it acts just like an actual light. White would be the brightest of all colors, while black is technically no light at all so it doesnt show up at all (black is transparent). Darker colors are effected by this too, as they appear to be more "See through" or "opague" than brighter colors because of this rendering effect. I have tried many times and many different ways to disable this effect so we can use black as a Sprite color, but sadly I keep failing. As I progress in this project, I continue to dissect Google's RenderScript API (which is not documented at all) looking for a way to allow dark/black colors.
The Trail Image
This image is the long trailing color behind the sprite that slowly appears to fade out to nothing. This is also a fairly small image, but it is NOT in the size you would expect. It is 128x128 and a simple gradient FG->Transparent. I usually dont change this image, and dont recommend changing it either, but I hate limiting people on their controls, so I have included it in this app.
The coloring of the trail is the same color as its sprite it is attached too, and also goes under the same RenderScript effects as the sprite.
The length (or size) of the trail can be adjusted, shorter or longer. The width can also be adjusted smaller or wider. However, its not as simple as it sounds. The two are somehow tied very closely together, and I havent looked into the equation to figure it out yet. Play with the settings until you find what suits you best.
The Controls:
Selecting an Image
Selecting an image is really simple. Just click on Background/Sprite/Trail at the top of the main screen to open the Image Selector screen.
Here you will see a list of folders to visually navigate through. Clicking on folders will open them, pressing the back button or "[parent folder]" will go back a folder. Pressing back on the root (/) directory will close the Image Selector screen and return you to the main screen.
If a folder contains any images, they will be presented to you at the bottom of your screen in a Gallery View. Scroll/Flick through this Gallery to select your image. The Gallery populates itself and caches thumbnails to your SDCard. You can clear the cache at any time, instructions for that are down towards the bottom of this post.
The Image Confirmation screen will show you a small, resized (if larger than screen) preview of the image you just clicked on. Click the Set button to set this and go back to the main screen. Click Cancel to go back to the Image Selector screen to pick another image file.
The Color Controls
There are 4 colors that can be adjusted to anything you want. Have them all the same, or all different. Its up to you. All 16.7 million colors are available to you.
There is a row of 4 large, colored dots. Click on one to bring up a color wheel. Drag your finger around the wheel until the center dot displays the color that you want. Or you can type in the Hex # if you want. Click that center dot to set that color. Do the same for all 4 colors.
Number of Sprites
This allows you to set how many free floating Sprites there are on the screen.
Max Number of Sprites on Tap
When you Tap on the screen (not in preview mode) 4 Sprites shoot out in all directions from where your finger is. You can have so many Extra Sprites on the screen at any given time. The default is 20, so after 5 quick taps it stops drawing extra Sprites until the previous ones disappear offscreen. Raise this to raise that limit.
Speed
This is the set speed of how fast the Sprites are moving across the screen.
Speed Variance
Notice not all Sprites move at the same speed, some slower, some faster. This setting controls that. It is a Variance control, meaning it goes both high and low of the set speed. If speed is 5, and variance is 2, then your sprites will randomly be set at speeds between 3 and 7.
Max Redraw Offscreen Delay
This is how long the Sprites stay "alive" while offscreen before they are redrawn.
Trail Length
This is the trail's length control.
Trail Width
This is the trail's width control.
Allow Tap
You can allow the Tap that was mentioned previously or not. Jus tuncheck this and taps ont he screen will no longer draw extra Sprites.
Menu Button Controls
The following settings are found by pressing your device's Menu button.
Color Schemes
I have included the standard color schemes that can be found in CM's Nexus LWP mod, plus a few more (more will be added with each version). These are a named set of 4 colors, predefined in the app. Select one from the list, and the colors will automatically be set on the main screen. You can then decide to use these colors, or modify them with the above mentioned Color Controls.
Load Defaults
This will simply unset any custom images you have set, and restore all slider/checkbox values to their default preset values.
Clear Cache
This clears the Gallery View images from the cache located on the SDCard
------------------
If you have any issues at all with this wallpaper app, please report the bug to me in PM, and as a temporary fix try clearing the Pl3x Wallpaper data.

I'll be working on this soon. I thought it was best to get Fresco on the market sooner rather than later.
Congrats on the realease. I just bought this last night and started working with it and I must say.....I LOVE IT!!

Great, thanks for your support. I hope you enjoy the extra features that weren't in the beta.
Has a little issue of the line breaking up when i draw slowly, zoomed in around 250% or more on the xoom. Could also use a number value next to the slider for changing brush size, as well as some smoothing on the brushes to help with jagged edges. This app has some great potential, I can't stand sketchbook mobile on honeycomb, glad to see someone finally putting an alternative out with layers and a good interface, bought the pro version and will definitely be watching for updates.
We need to be able to select colors by hex value, I know that's an easy thing to add and would make things easier when selecting colors
You should have a sale for the app and make it .99 and see how it does in sales over the weekend...people like sales hehe

Glad you like the app! Well spotted, I can confirm the slow drawing bug on my device. I imagine there's a rounding error somewhere that's causing this when calculating the position of the brush stroke. Values for the brush configuration screen does sound like a good idea.
Are you getting jagged edges always or with certain brush sizes? Fresco includes line smoothing at the moment.

I was thinking about adding another tab to the color dialog screen that would contain red/blue/green sliders and a button for entering a hex value. Thanks for the advice about pricing.
Does anyone reading use a Samsung Galaxy S 2? I just had a vague error report that pressing undo makes black boxes appear on the canvas which is a show stopping bug to have. Can anyone reproduce this?
Just noticed this, but why is there such a gap? Left side of the image...
Sent from my Bolt using XDA Premium App

I'll try it in a minute. I'd love to be able to draw something as good as you've done in the screenshots, but I'm pretty much limited to stick figures
EDIT: Yep, big black box taking up a rectangle around the entire area just drawn pops up.

I'm not seeing a gap although there is a 1 pixel wide outline around the image.

Oh dear. What happens if you draw several strokes in different places, undo several times and then redo everything? Can you draw something, return to the gallery while saving your image and then load your image successfully?
Edit: Do you know if you've got the Exynos 4210 "GT-i9100" or the Tegra 2 model? I know the app works fine on the Xoom's Tegra 2 so I'm wondering if it's the former that's the problem.

Are you running an ad-blocker? The Lite version has ads at the top. I can see why the black box would be confusing though.

Introduction
Smart Car Dock is a new car dock launcher. It allows you i.a. to add apps and shortcuts to buttons for triggering them more easy in car, like other car dock launchers do. But Smart Car Dock has, compared to other car launcher apps, many more features.
Features
The apps has 1 to 8 pages and each page has 1 to 16 buttons. The user can set the page and button number like he/she wants to. The motivation for this: Less buttons can have more space, get larger and are easier to click in car. Devices with larger screens, like tablets, can hold more buttons with an appropriate size.
The following assignments are possible for any button:
launch apps, shortcuts (f.i. short-dialer), and show widgets (two per page). I don't know of any other car dock launcher that can add widgets
a gps view like velocity (mph/kmh), altimeter (ft./m) and driving direction (en/ger)
time (am-pm/24h) and date view (us/eu)
multimedia player shortcuts like play/pause, stop, next and previous song (Not any player supports this!)
shortcuts to raise/lower volume, mute/unmute device and speaker on/off
shortcut to trigger voice commands (Google voice search or voice dialer-if installed on device)
exit app
More functions:
Drag and drop buttons (by long-clicking text)
Change image and label of buttons
Clicking on a gps-, time- or date display launches a cockpit-view. In this view you can see the current velocity, altimeter, driving direction, time and date. Depending on which mentioned element was clicked in the main-app, this element will be as large as possible in the center of the cockpit-view. All the other mentioned elements are placed around this element. The cockpit-view can be left again by clicking anywhere on the screen.
Current location visible in action-bar and cockpit-view
Swiping down triggers a voice control. If you say "right" or "rechts" (ger) you scroll to the right page. If you say "left" or "links" (ger) you scroll to the left page. Any button on the current page gets a number on the upper left. If you say this number the button will be triggered. You can also jump directly to a page. For instance if you say "page 6" or "Seite 6" (ger), you switch to page 6 directly, regardless on which page you currently are. If you left the app by triggering a button, you return to the app by saying "home" or "zurück" (ger). The control will be restarted automatically until you say "finished" or "fertig" (ger) or until you swipe up in the app. It is necessary for this control to have a proper speech recognition installed on the android device. It is also recommended to install offline speech recognition packages in case there is no internet connection available.
Automatic screenrotation
chose englisch and german language
activate car-dock-mode on power-, on bluetooth-connection, on magnet-detection, or always on app-start
unlock screen on app-start
sound/vibration on click
Automatically answering calls in car-dock-mode
Automatically reply to sms messages in car-dock-mode
chose the visible number of pages from 1 to 8 (note: there is a limitation of max. 2 and 4 pages on older devices with low heap memory)
chose between 1 to 16 visible buttons per page (note: there is a limitation of max. 8 buttons on older devices with low heap memory)
automatically switch between day-, night-colors and brightness by light-sensor (if available) or by time
change any color of any element in the app by a color picker
scale images of buttons by 5 different sizes
change the language of the currently shown location to 7 different languages (if available by google) or to the language of the country you are currently in
change the location-detection accuracy
import and export all setttings and assignements
....and much more!

No root required
App is free
In-App-Billing: Buying a pro version is possible. It'll remove advertisement and unlocks locked features (configuring page and button number)
I hope you like my app. I' m thankful for any download and positive rating. Please inform me of any ideas to improve this app.
Kind regards

Update Version 2.6:
Now certain bluetooth device selectable for activating car-dock-mode
Now selectable: Deactivate screen-timeout while app is active (important for devices that do not deactivate it by itself in car-dock-mode)
added 'location on/off'-button to enable/disable location-view for saving data-usage
Looks ok but what about material design?

Which elements do you think have a lack of material design? I have no control over the app and shortcut symbols, since they come from the users android os. Do you mean the button symbols i created myself, the buttons under section "More" ? Or do you mean the buttons itself? The style of them can be configured a lot by the user (colors, shape, gradient color, solid color,.....). And that' s why i am a litlle limited, since the styling must be changeable programmatically by java and not by xml. Or do you mean the settings or dialoges or the cockpit-view?
Can you give me a hint what you would do different? I`d appreciate it very much and see what i can do!
thx

take a look at android material design spec. may you use card view instead of your self painted black and white background in cockpit view. I think shadows would be great to get a plasitcal optic
I have one idea:
Can you make it possible to have another dialer.
I mean directly in the app great buttons with the numbers 0 to 9.
So you can touch them easily.
Thanks.
Good

Hi Dtrieb,
a big-button-dialer could be possible, but not inside the button-view. Maybe in another Activity like the cockpit-view. But then, it wouldnt be such a great feature, since you can just add some third-party big-button-dialer to a button in Smart Car Dock......
Version 2.8 released
Hey everyone,
i released the version 2.8 with more styling options.
Release message from the store:
- Selectable gradient background color (behind buttons/views) for Button-View & Cockpit-View
- Selectable gradient color inside views of cockpit-view

- Changed default colors (Please reset colors to see it, if you have downloaded this app before - Maybe export a backup before)
- Solved a bug

Hi,
I've finally managed to publish my free Defilmirz watchface on Samsung apps.
IMHO it is an interesting idea because it is very customizable with a settings app on the phone (Android) side.
Since it is free, I assume it is legal to mention it here. If I'm wrong, please let me know.
The watchface is accessible on Samsung Apps with name "Defilmirz"
Please let me know if you have any interesting idea to add on this watchface. I will try to add anything requested which is possible within my capabilities.
Here is a video of its usage and some screenshots:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

And the Android settings app is here:

Very nice especially with phone color config. Very very.... annoying all this faces wich change color as soon as you fingers tap the screen What a shame that don not works also on S2
I just uploaded a version for S2. Once the Samsung testers approve it , you can get it for your S2.
thanks for your feedback.
Nice face. Feedback:
1. The center where the hands meet is an odd grey that looks like a dirty screen. I don't know what to change it to, but other faces address it.
2. the second color only sticks on the always on screen. when the screen is on, the entire second color section is a significantly lighter color and not what I would ever want to look at.
I have published another version of the watchface. It is called "Defilmirz F"
It has the same concept and features. Just a different organization of the screen.

Thanks for your feedback. I would like to fix what you've seen as a problem.
But I need some clarification and ideas;
1. I could put a static imaghe on the center. Like a dot or circle. Would that be nice ? What color it should be ? Black ?
2. The second color is used for the background of the digital information. But over that part I added a transparent and shiny layer which makes the color lighter. Now if I remove that layer, the shiny light effect will be gone. Maybe I can try to change the effect to be darker.
Meanwhile, as a workaround, you can try to select the color darker.
Having a few more days to play with various watch faces, I can appreciate the artistic challenge of two designs that need to compliment each other and the technical challenge of AOD battery consumption and interacting with the various APIs.
That said, when I look at a bunch of faces, the center painting is made easier by decreasing rings for each hand. The stock Blue Pop does it well. By avoiding solid areas, you can mix in the background color (black). Look at enough and you'll see.
The white overlay now makes sense. I'm too type A to suggest color tuning. There's a happy solution there somewhere.
I do like the companion app that takes us away from Samsung's software. I think there is some real power to be had.
Just installed this and looks great but unfortunately steps count is not showing.

it starts from 0 when you load/reload the face. Then you have to walk/run to make a positive number.
if that doesn't work for you , then you might have stopped the generic step count feature of the watch. Please enable it in S Health.
thx.

Pretty cool. Almost all the information I want access to on a watchface without a bunch of extras.
Some ideas to consider or not:
- Tasker compatibility to use a dynamic variable as the scrolling text (could be a reminder, appointment, or anything... limitless possibilities)
- temperature
- tap icon to open battery/health/weather/etc

these are all good ideas. specially I liked the Tasker integration. But I don't know how to write a tasker plugin. Do you have any source on that ?
temperature would be nice, but which source should be used ? getting from weather.com or any other weather information site like wunderground ?
I assume there is no temperature sensor on the Gear S2 or S3 (?)
icon to open battery/health is easy. but it could affect the user experience in a bad way. (unwillingly touching the screen)
maybe I should add it as an option...

Regarding Tasker, start here. The plug in would be for your phone companion app of course, with the goal of the "scrolling text" field to accept a tasker variable.
I use the wunderground api in my apps and just parse out what I need. You could technically grab a hundred different items and offer your users the choice, but temp would be good enough for me.

I've checked the Tasker developer resources, but could not find an easy way to integrate it in my app. They shared the sdk from some other app vendor named twofourtyfouram and it is in Gradle format for Android studio which I don't use. (I am still developing in Eclipse)
Anyway I tried to migrate the SDK to Eclipse but it has references to other libraries from the same vendor (twofourtyfouram) and they are missing.
So I am looking for a ready sdk to use in Eclipse.
timezone issue has been fixed and update is published by Samsung.
