Hi,
I went abroad on vacation and turned off the data connection on my Nexus S (GT-i9023). While on vacation a friend figured out my pattern to unlock my phone. Because of that I changed the pattern and of course couldn't remember the new pattern which led to my phone getting locked. To unlock it I have to sign in to my Google account but like I wrote I turned of data connection before I went abroad so I can't log in to my Google acoount. =(
Is there a way to force activate data connection or WiFi without USB debugging enabled? If not, is there a way to force activate USB debugging and then force activate data connection or WiFi? If I can get either one of them working I guess I would be able to unlock the phone by entering my Google account information.
Is there another way of recovering my pictures and videos from the phone maybe? I really really would like to be able to save all pictures and videos that I took on my vacation up until I looked it out.
Please please help and thank you very much in advance!!
Is your phone rooted?
sent from my so icey ns4G
No it's not rooted.
Have you tried entering "null" without the quotes for your password?
Yes I have tried with null as password and with and without @gmail.com with my username.
I have tried to connect it with ADB but the device is not found. I don't think the USB-debugging is activated so I guess that's why I can't see it. Isn't there any tool to force activate USB-debugging or get around that somehow? Atleast then I would have a chance.
Please, any tips?
I also contacted Samsung support but the only answer i get from them is that i have to reset my phone or send it to them so they can reset it and I don't want to do that.
There must be a way? If I connect the usb-cable while in the boot menu I can see it in the device manager as "Android phone - Android ADB Interface". But if I type adb devices the "List of devices" ends up empty.
Is there really no way? I'm totally new to this but it doesn't make sense that there is no way what so ever to get a connection to the phone. Please help, I'll try anything.
Hi,
I have tried factory reset from recovery, after I resetted it i can not setup my phone. It says something like "Unable to access Wi-Fi AP. An unauthorized factory reset has been performed on this device. Can not access the sign-in page." Any solutions? since i have resetted it i can not use odin because of frp lock.
Thank you

I tried wiping the cache from the recovery mode. and it did the work. Maybe a flow in the code ?
Hi I've the same problem! Did you manage to fix your phone?
I forgot my password to start phone so did factory reset only to be told the same as above. I'm abroad so can't even contact my provider/Samsung so am really stuck.
Any help is appreciated
Using either WiFi or Mobile data you should always have access to sign back into your Google account, which is what it is asking you to do
The phone asks you to connect to WiFi before sign in anyway
dose it helped as detection said?
You just need to login the same gmail ac which you previously using in that phone.
I have the same issue, and the problem is that it won't allow you to connect to the Wi-Fi to even get to the internet. As soon as you connect on the Wireless network, the "Unable to access web browser for Wi-Fi sign in due to an unauthorized factory reset" message appears. And for whatever reason, the cellular network is not available either.
Before you do a factory reset, log out from your google account, also from your Samsung account, just to be sure. Better to remove all your added fingerprints and also your screen lock.
Now, if you did not do that, and you already made a factory reset, and you get that message, just enter your google email and your password. Sometimes this is just not enough, and I found that if you sign in from the same IP, you were previously on, when you reset your device, it will do the trick. Weird, but try, it may work.
If nothing works, your safe bet is to reflash your specific firmware with Odin.
Download the firmware from SamMobile, it will work without errors, Knox still 0x0, don't worry about it.
Also you can fix the: Cannot Update Software, Your Device has been modified message, by reflashing with Odin.
This message can appear on your phone if you unlock your Developer Options on your device and play with adb, or sideload some shady applications to modify your device settings, even if you are not rooted, your device can still show: Status: Custom message.
So, log out from every account before a factory reset. If something goes wrong, use Odin.
Hello,
In this situation, you CANNOT enter your Google information, because you can't get that far. After the hard factory reset, and the phone boots to the Welcome screen, you press the Start button and immediately get the message “An unauthorized attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings. Connect to a Wi-Fi or mobile network to verify your identity”, then when you turn Wi-Fi on, and connect to a network you get the message "unable to sign in to wi-fi ap an unauthorized factory reset has been performed on this device". Even after a reboot you get "unable to access web browser for wi-fi sign in due to an unauthorized factory reset". There is no option to skip, and Next is greyed out.
My phone has never been rooted and I was just performing a routine Wipe to make it faster. The only thing I can think of is that I did not remove the account from the phone first, and then perform a soft factory reset (I just hard reset it from the firmware menu). Or, that I did not remove the device from Google webpage before the reset (but I don't think this is the problem since I can't even get to the internet to log-in).
I tried flashing with the original firmware but the phone has FRP on, so flashing is blocked.
The information on the Samsung site states to send/bring the phone to a Samsung Authorized Repair center along with the original proof of purchase.
There must be a better way?
Like I told you. Use the same Wi-Fi. It WORKS.
Worked for me, so do it.
Or try Smart Switch.
Before I posted I verified that I am on the same Wi-Fi network that I was on when I Factory Reset the device. I used ODIN and the latest firmware from SamMobile, it failed because FRP Lock is on. I tried Smart Switch and it give me the "Unsupported Device" message so I used Recovery mode, entered in my model and SN, and it downloaded and installed the firmware (latest?).
Just for fun (given the response above that "it WORKS".) I went through all of the steps again, with no success.
After recovery using Smart Switch, I rebooted and the problem still exists. "An unauthorized attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings. Connect to a Wi-Fi or mobile network to verify your identity." I choose the Wi-Fi network that I want, and it gives the message "unable to access web browser for wi-fi sign in due to an unauthorized factory reset"
Any advice is appreciated.

Flash a much older firmware that has a FRP bypass method on youtube and follow that
Good luck.
I found a j3 on the freeway during a flat tire issue. Samsung said that I should give it to them or police. Police departments sell them at monthly auctions. Samsung will just resell it after they fix it and I am the one assumed to be a criminal in this case?
So here's what I'm thinking

Charge it, see if you can access the phone book, call someone on the phone book or wait for a call from the owner
If the above is impossible, give it to the cops, you can claim it back at X months if it is not claimed (At least over here)
heyy, I have the same problem. "Unable to access web browser for Wi-Fi sign in due to an unauthorized factory reset" what to do?
unathorized reset not connecting to internet SOLVED, 2 SECONDS.
I had the same pronblem. I couldn't connect to the internet after a unathorized resett. I was suck trying to connect to the internet inorder to out in my google information. But kept getting can not connect to the internet ap is locked can not connect. Therefore i couldn't sign on with my google information unlocking my phone. Nothing i tried, Flashing stock with Odin, erasing the partition in recovery mode, factory resetting, changiing the ip address via advance wifi settings. Everything. Even tried every you tube trick none of them worked. It wasn't untill i went into a open network. Meaning one that doesn't need to be signed into. I went to Mcdonalds user there wifi. Don't need to sign in ,it's a automatic connection. See you need your AP to make the connection. But if you did like i did a unathorized factory reset. Then your AP IS non funtioning. It cant make the the connectiion. Connecting to a open network ,one that doesnt need a sign in. Mcdonalds , Starbucks or anyother open network. i am writing this with the device with the problem. Problem solved.

unauthorized factory reset wifi ap blocked
Sm-j737p 8.0 j737pvpu2arj2. I got one of these 2 days ago. It had been reset from recovery. It wants the original uicc to verify identity. The wifi will not connect cus browser is denied to access. I.cannot try using the ap that was last used so idk about that. If you put a sim in (I used diff network) it will act like its connecting but is updating system after which the same cycle starts over. The Eng SBoot (frp by***s)combination files will work but oreo updates were so erradict that you will have to use your own boot with.
P.s.-If your getting the "unauthorized" message then the FRP and OEM locks are on. I will play with it and let ya know. I enjoy a challenge and galaxy is my specialty.
My phone was network locked, so I gave it to a technician to help me unlock it. The problem is now my phone restarts (I can use it, open apps ...) just after a few minutes which makes it unusable. I probably should do a factory reset but I still have some precious data on my phone that I don't wanna lose. Since the phone keeps restarting, I don't know how to copy said data before performing the factory reset. Another info that might be useful, my micro-usb port isn't working, which makes my problem worse. Can anybody help me with this?
If you have a second hand phone, try transferring all the data needed via Smartswitch
Hello all,
i have a strange Problem with my A71 which i use as a work phone. We got the order to migrate some internal stuff which makes it necessary to reset the mobile phone. in the description i think they missed one important point, delete / unenroll the google account first and then make a reset...but i'm not sure.
Because now after i done the reset it's not possible to get to the screen where it is possible to enter the google credentials. Means the telephone starts, i enter the PIN from the SIM, accept the User terms and conditions, log into my W-LAN, the phone search for updates, ask me if i might be restore data from an old phone. After that a quick screen pops up with the note "Checking" and then i see the error
Log in not possible
There was a problem communicating with the Google servers, please try again later.
In addition. When i try to connect with the normal mobile network, it says thats not possible to connect with the internet
What we have here?
is it the FRP or any other "the phone is locked" thing? and how i can resolve this problem?
Because the SIM is working fine...tested with another phone. And the W-LAN is working as well.
Thanks in advance
Greetings

Hmm... If it's the device of your company, they should help you.
If it's your private device, then try to do the factory reset again in recovery mode. Hopefully it helps.

go download the fosctory FW from sammobile.com/firmware and use samfirm to actually download it (its literally 4x faster than directly from the site) and flash it with the CSC instead of the HOME_CSC. Once you do that, itll think its a brand new phone and itll truly factory reset it which recovery factory reset doesnt do really. If you were wanting to keep your data on the device, youd use HOME_CSC. Thats the only difference between the two, but its a BIG difference and ive seen people use the wrong one multiple times LOL myself included LOLOLOL
My EV PAD 5 was acting up giving me an error 708 which didn't allow me to watch anything, so i factory reset it.
However after factory resetting it and logging into the wifi, which did connect, i was unable to actually use the internet.
If i press 6868 on the remote it tells me ''error 1004'', and if i go on google to go to 6868hx, it tells me ''you're offline/not connected to the internet''.
But the thing is, i did connect to the wifi and when i go to settings, the wifi does show up as connected and my wifi works, so what can i do at this moment?
Would appreciate the advice. Thanks!
