Hi all.
I just received my Gear S3, an ebay purchase, and really happy with it. I knew about the issue on the screen, and as such, the watch was a lot cheaper than all others available.
How would I be able to sort the issue out?

I see my pic isnt showing - any help on that too?

Probably only in a Samsung Repair Center.
If you make an hard reset that mark continues to appear?

I've reset it to factory settings, mark is still there...

Like I tought.
Try to check in a repair center the cost of it, it's the only way to solve that issue.

Can't see the pic on mobile, IMG tag is broken. You're missing a square bracket.

IMHO Display is dead... half dead...
I saw such device on Ebay...
But here is from German Forum... somebody who has similar problem...
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/samsung-gear-s3.2914/ploetzlicher-displayfehler.852663.html
IMHO Hardware damage...
New Display on Ebay costs... ca. 200 Euro...

Oh , I think I have seen this issue somewhere, don't have the link, but I am pretty sure its because the battery inside the watch is expanding and putting pressure on the LCD/OLED panel, I would suggest getting warranty repair or change the battery.
Either way get a warranty repair going. Though if you want to repair it by yourself try tracking down that thread, I believe it was on reddit.

This is really good idea...
because I remember such phenomenon with my SM-Z130H... Mobile... :good:
Yes, I agree... if battery blows up... then pressure is really amazing...
But my Z1 Display was not missing Pixel... it was only little bit darker... Display moved to Touch glass closer...
Added Pic from Ebay... SM-R770
So you are not alone...

If the one you saw on ebay was recent, then the one I have is the one you saw on ebay...
I dont really see the dot, was just wondering if there was a way to get rid of it. You can still see images and things through the dot, just dimmer...

Oh so you CAN see things, just darker? That really does sound like the battery is putting pressure on the display ( like putting pressure on a computer monitor screen) .
I have added SM-R770 Picture post above...
So I think you have SM.R760...
About theory about battery...
This Video I have used to open my dead SM-R770... :good: :good:
Thanx for this:

Battery is much cheaper as Display... around 20 Euro...
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Genuine-Sams...867536?hash=item5d754be890:g:3VcAAOSwB-1YwCR9
BUT... I am sure... your Display is more dead...
So I think it is irreversible...
If you go to Service Center... IMHO they will tell you repair between 250 Euro and higher...
So you can buy new one...
Best Regards
Is there another Samsung battery issue happening? Along the lines of the Note 7?

Edit 1.
Maybe for "easy" test it would be enough to remove 4 Y Screws from Backplate/Rear Cover...
And if drunken enough... You could remove carefully Rear Cover...
Maybe this is enough to lower the pressure...
any updates ? solution ?
my watch have similar problem now. any idea how to fix it ??

Hi guys,
I got my XL yesterday but I have just noticed a bright white small dot appears on my screen on black background but it is not visible in other colors
Is it a dead or stuck pixel ? Really needs help regarding that so I can check with the store to replace it if it is a defect

Try doing factory reset and check if it's going .
But I think it's a defect , So rush to Sony Service center soon and get the device "Replaced" .
If customer finds a defect in Sony mobiles within a week , then they have a policy to replace the device.

Thank you for your reply but I got it from a local shop.Do you think it can get worth or it may affect my phone ? I have read some posts saying that if it is not annoying you and you can live with it;then don't replace it.I am really afraid this option will be also hard as it was last piece available in the store and I believe it will be hard to replace it ?
PS: it is really so tiny white dot but I don't know if that means something wrong is there or just a small defect ?
and thanx again for your reply

have it replace, asap! that tiny white dot should not be included with the purchase of your unit.
a defect is a defect. if thats the last piece available. ask for a full refund. it could be the last piece because it has already been checked by someone and didn't get it.
btw, have you checked if the box is sealed and opened in front of you?
just my 2 cents.

First of all-thanx for your reply but all I meant that I have checked many stores in my area and they don't have it
So the problem now that I don't want another phone nor a refund. Also I don't trust repair center as they may get it worse !
It really doesn't annoy me but the only question I am worried it can be worse or affect my phone in the future ?
and again-really thank you guys-your community always helpful for android noobs like me :good:
if its ok with you or it doesn't matter you, then its fine.
my point is, of course we bought it with our hard earned money. we deserve to have it defect free.
I believe, it comes with a warranty? if it does goes worst. then have it warrantied

I came from S3 mini before having this Xperia L. All I can say is, XL is way way better than my previous one.
Rest assured that your XL will do fine, if your ok with that little tiny white dot. Unless of course bigger problem arises. Then thats the time you bring it for warranty. Sony service center will take care of it.
Does the store have the 7 days replacement policy or a full refund? If yes, I'd rather bring it back and wait for a replacement or have it refunded. And buy with other stores. For you to have peace of mind with your beloved XL.
Good luck.

tried to look for you, haven't found any, anywhere. Seems like the fact thats it's such an unpopular and fairly new product makes parts availability almost 0.
is it unpopular? i dont think so... I think its because lcd replacement is not very easy on a waterproff device...

Euhh no. Difficulty of replacing a device's screen has nothing to do with availability. It's about sellers stocking up on sellable items, which the sw2 is not very sellable for replacement parts.

I have replaced displays in laptops and have seen screen replacements on phones and tablets, but I am wondering if a user screen replacement of the SmartWatch 2 would be something anyone would want to tackle due to the possibility it would not be water-resistant anymore. I have seen people complain about the entire watch body becoming loose and re-gluing that... but I'd worry about completely hosing the watch by messing with the screen.
Have you communicated with Sony about the cost (if any... eg, covered by warranty) of them repairing?

Until a thorough guide comes out on how to properly disassemble the watch, it is a possibility of having to give up the IP57 features. And although i did not call Sony about any quotes, i'm pretty sure it would be at least between 100-150$.
This weekend I noticed when aiming towards the sun I get some kind of artefact, as if there is some reflection inside the camera module... Also noticable when pointing towards a lantern post or even lamp (inside darker surroundings). Attached 2 examples...
Also shot a movie where you can see the effect moving around, from bottom center left clockwise... So it doesn't look like a damage to the lens right? Anyone know what this is, if it can be fixed? Guess it's a trip to the shop for me though :/

Last night I took some pix of the sunset and a couple images had the exact same reflection or whatever it is. I hope Samsung comes up with a fix for this.
Somehuman
Well that won't be fixed with any update, it looks like some kind of fault with the anti reflective coating or the glass covering the lens, take it back point out to them what the problem is get it replaced & test again if this is the case with all S7's in direct light then i'll skip this phone & stick with the S6 as mine has no such problems.
It actually seems that it also happens on my S6, but less extreme. Also on another site I learned that it is not weird behavior, but also that I'm not the only one... The question is mainly if it's an above average manifestation and whether I can live with it
Attached another example...
Does somebody know if there is a plastic protection sticker on the camera sensor and the heartrate/flashlight sensor? Samsung told me there is, but I don't see one. Somebody can clear this up

On the 4th day, I just simply showed them a pure white image so they can see pink tint on the lower part of the screen when the brightness is below 40%. They also extended my 7 days replacement with another 7 days replacement. By the way, I talked with my local telco and not directly to Samsung since I got my unit from my telco.

Damn that's much better than the condition here. Instead of just extending the 7 days replacement period. Most dealers in Dubai will just tell us to review the new product at the moment we go for replacement and any problem raised after that day will be only considered under warranty. BTW Telco is a carrier?

Normal, around 40 to 50 degrees Celsius depending on the load, it's somewhat warm but not uncomfortably warm thanks to the heat pipe and the efficiency of the Exynos under high thermal load.

After only 2 months using the OnePlus 6 as a daily driver, dust came inside the camera lense. You can clearly see those particles and I tried wiping it off with a wet cloth but it remain there, so I'm definetly sure it's inside. How could this happen? I always used my op6 careful it never dropped.
I also saw another user in the op forums, he's having the same issue. (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/dust.867476/)
Anyone else? I will post some pics later.

Both it seems, also it seems to be first batch of phones from what I've read so far. I'm on month 1 with my device, it came with 5.1.9 out the box, 0 dust yet. I don't use the slider above the power button, one theory was that dust get through from there.
Sucks not to nokt being able to use it tho, I was starting to like it... But since OnePlus don't think this is falling under warranty for some it just makes me not want to risk it.. P. S I always have a case on.
