tried to look for you, haven't found any, anywhere. Seems like the fact thats it's such an unpopular and fairly new product makes parts availability almost 0.

is it unpopular? i dont think so... I think its because lcd replacement is not very easy on a waterproff device...

Euhh no. Difficulty of replacing a device's screen has nothing to do with availability. It's about sellers stocking up on sellable items, which the sw2 is not very sellable for replacement parts.

I have replaced displays in laptops and have seen screen replacements on phones and tablets, but I am wondering if a user screen replacement of the SmartWatch 2 would be something anyone would want to tackle due to the possibility it would not be water-resistant anymore. I have seen people complain about the entire watch body becoming loose and re-gluing that... but I'd worry about completely hosing the watch by messing with the screen.
Have you communicated with Sony about the cost (if any... eg, covered by warranty) of them repairing?

Until a thorough guide comes out on how to properly disassemble the watch, it is a possibility of having to give up the IP57 features. And although i did not call Sony about any quotes, i'm pretty sure it would be at least between 100-150$.

Replacement Phone Housing

I wonder if anyone knows where to buy a replacement phone housing for the Desire HD. I have dropped my Desire HD by accident and now the shell is badly dented and scratched. Brought the phone back to HTC and they said it would cost $150 just to replace it as the warranty does not cover user faults.
Check the box your phone came in.
If it says 'HTC Desire HD' on the box, you can get a free replacement at any phone shop that has one in stock until midnight tonight 13th October.
How exactly did you manage to scratch a phone which hasn't been released yet?

why cant you replace the battery
Make a picture of the phone using a mirror.. or 2 mirrors..
God....you lot are not being helpful now are you?
to the op, I believe your only chance is to wait a couple of weeks and I am sure ebay will soon be filled with replacement covers and housings.
Until then your best option is to buy a case to cover it up.

Firstly, good effort for resurrecting a pretty dead thread.
Secondly, realise that the guy is claiming he had a DHD before anyone else had one.
Thirdly, he claims the battery cannot be replaced - only on the DHD it can be (and if you take the cover off, it literally falls out!)
So while we would like to help the guy, he's not exactly provided believable evidence.

Why would anyone lie about something like that?
It is more likely the indentation is so bad the battery simply wont come out. Also I believe there are a select few who get to test devices long before they hit the shelves, I dont think he/she is one however I do believe it may be a test device.
I am also interested to know this. Nothing on ebay yet. Anyone know a retailer likely to sell housings? Unless anyone wants to swap a black for a brown?
Not sure why everyone here so adamant the op is lying... it's not like it's a big deal.
Mobile phones are often finished months in advance of a public release for testing, PR purposes, sales purposes (you don't think a mobile network gets to see and play with a device before deciding to stock it?) etc etc
I had the very first colour mobile about almost a year before it was available to the public and even months before anybody knew it existed. Why? I was working on developing a marketing campaign for it. It was one of only two in existence and it was buggy as hell....
Also he may not of realised that the battery compartment is separate from the sim card and not noticed it...
Btw - I want to know about a new housing too... this phone is so smooth it gives the expression dropping calls a whole new meaning....

Not to let this drag on or anything - of course there are versions and prototypes and ready for market versions of the phone, but would they be handing out a model of this hotly anticipated phone to someone who doesn't realise there's a battery compartment (which is a different colour to the rest of the casing, no less)? I think not.
Housings will probably take a while to filter down, the more obvious 'immediate' accessories like micro USB cables and docks are being churned out at 1000 a minute at the moment.
Well People , i got my Stock from Vodafone Australia not a joke either .

[Q] Broken LCD Glass :(

Anyone know where I can get a replacement LCD glass for my Desire HD
I believe it's just the glass as the screen seems to still work.
If there's a place in or around London that can replace it for me even better, if not anyone know how difficult it is to replace.
I've noticed a few places on Ebay (China/HK) selling digitizers and complete LCD's but ideally I want somewhere in the UK.
thanks
Elliot
Hi,
I went through a similar experience less than 2 weeks ago, you can even see images here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834335
I rang around several places, none could commit to using GENUINE HTC parts. The only people I found were: www.htcrepairs.co.uk/ - and they even offer a walk in service whereas I found most others did not.
Unfortunately they don't have the parts I require in stock, maybe you can try them.
At the moment, they're the only people I've found in the London area that I'd be willing to give my phone in to...
Did you have any luck with finding anyone else?
Maybe contacting HTC? They can probably repair it for you but it can be pretty expensive though.
Maybe you got some pics?
You could try, as said above, get the glass/screen from eBay.
Repaired my SE K800i with it, where the glass could easily be removed and the new one could be installed within 5minutes.
Don't know how the HTC will disassemble though.
I'm going to try this place on the way home from work: http://www.spsmobile.co.uk I'll let you know how they go. They've got the parts and will charge me £60 for either the lcd or digitzer including fitting.
Here's some pictures. I think they'll get away with just fixing the glass, although it looks bad the lcd still seems to work ok.
Can anyone recommend a case surround?

How did it go?
Did they fix it whilst you wait, or retain the device to work on for a day or two?
More importantly, are they using genuine HTC parts ?
They fix while you wait, they're near Staples Corner (which is a bit of a walk from the tube at Brent Cross).
I need to go back tonight as they messed up and thought I had a Desire and not a HD, they're hoping to get the HD part in today, they're charging me the Desire price.
According to their website they use official parts, but who knows.
Warranty
* We give 3 months warranty on every repair excluding liquid / water damage and physical damage
* Every warranty handset is security sealed. Tampering with the security seal will void the warranty LCD / SCREEN warranty. We fit original screens only and they are security labeled
* Every handset is tested for 24 hours and comes with engineers report
I plan to visit these SPS guys tonight. Lets hope they manage to fix my phone.
I'm hoping to wait around so I can ensure genuine parts are used...
SPS didn't manage to get a Desire HD digitizer for me, they've got 1 on order. They're a little difficult to find (at least they were in the dark) they're behind Staples industrial state, in room 207, small little office. They seemed ok though they.

Got my Legend fixed earlier this evening by these guys: http://www.spsmobile.co.uk/
They were one of few who were adament they use genuine parts [they allowed me to inspect the parts before installation] AND allowed me to wait whilst they work on it.
Abolutely disgusting/poor customer service and general attitute towards their customers... though the main thing is my Legend is all well again !
Oh, it cost £70 for display + digitizer + installation.

Screen Repair

My Sony Smartwatch MN2 has got two pretty major parallel scratches on the screen and some slight peeling under the screen in the top right, it doesnt affect the operation of the device but severely hinders the view.
Does anyone know where to take it for repair in the UK and prospective costs or anywhere that offers replacement screens for a DIY job?
I've already got my Smartwatch 2 SW2 so its no big deal but I'd love to give the MN2 to my younger brother.

Broken Touch Screen Replacement?

Hello guys,
I from Brazil, and um forum threads and sites here, I'm finding lots of people complaining about how I easy is to get your phone touch screen broked... Like happened to me... =(
It's very hard to found someone to replace, and when it's very expensive when you found, like half the price of the phone!
As I like to do thing by myself, anyone knows a online store to buy a replacement? I was told that I'll need a new lcd and touch, because they are attached together.
Tks!

Seems the touch screen issue is pretty much normal lately. Does the touch screen of Moto G has been really easy to get brokened?
It's very easy to get you moto g broken! I read about phone broked after drops from 30cm!
There is a video showing how to disassemble?? Is it easy?
To be honest you might be better off saving yourself the hassle and just buying a new moto g at this point. New screen+digitizer is almost half the price of a new phone.

Yeah, I have a small crack and a 2 cm scratch already. From what, I don't know. I treated it like royalty.
Turns out that unbreakable and unscratchable screen is both breakable and scratchable....
Well I really can't believe it's that easy to break the screen. One thing for sure, it's not "unbreakable and unscratchable", it's scratch resistant (which simply means that it can survive more than "normal" glass, but it's not something magical).
And how come do you notice that it's broken, if you say you "treated it like royalty"? I mean, it's all OK one time, and the next time you take a look, it's broken? Well that's some magic.

I'm quite aware of that, but the way they hype this crap, it sounds like it can survived a nuclear holocaust. I've cracked my fair share of digitizers, so I have a fair understanding of how much punishment they can take. And this is one of the weaker ones.

Basically that's what happened. I didn't see anything a day earlier when I cleaned off the screen. I have honestly no idea what happened. The only thing I can think of is that I had my pass card in the same pocket for maybe an hour. But is seriously doubt it can scratch, not to mention crack, a digitizer.
As for how I found it. I was soldering and left the phone next to the soldering station. I pushed the magnifier aside and when I looked back at the phone I saw the crack though the lens. Its minimal, a maybe 1-1.5 mm X shaped crack. Can't even see it without looking for it in direct light. But its there.

New (to me) Gear S3 Frontier, with black smudge on screen - suggestions?

Hi all.
I just received my Gear S3, an ebay purchase, and really happy with it. I knew about the issue on the screen, and as such, the watch was a lot cheaper than all others available.
How would I be able to sort the issue out?

Oh , I think I have seen this issue somewhere, don't have the link, but I am pretty sure its because the battery inside the watch is expanding and putting pressure on the LCD/OLED panel, I would suggest getting warranty repair or change the battery.
Either way get a warranty repair going. Though if you want to repair it by yourself try tracking down that thread, I believe it was on reddit.

Oh so you CAN see things, just darker? That really does sound like the battery is putting pressure on the display ( like putting pressure on a computer monitor screen) .

So you can buy new one...

Edit 1.
Maybe for "easy" test it would be enough to remove 4 Y Screws from Backplate/Rear Cover...
And if drunken enough... You could remove carefully Rear Cover...
Maybe this is enough to lower the pressure...
any updates ? solution ?
