Hey all.
Iv recently subcribed to facebook sms alerts and its working great.
However the messages i get sent are from slightly different numbers
eg. 32230004 or 32230010, the 3223 is the facebook address but the 0010 is the message number.
This is screwing up my threaded messages as its threading each individual message instead of grouping them.
Is there anyway i can thread a range of numbers so all the facebook messages get grouped eg 3223**** or 32230000-32239999
Thanks in advance
I manage a large group of people (175 members total) who communicate primarily by text messages. There are times when I must create, forward and or edit text messages to disseminate to the group. In the last 2 months, I have installed and uninstalled every application available in order to help the texting process be more efficient for me and the group. TO DATE, NOTHING HAS WORKED! Each application crashes my phone or simply can not handle the amount of messages sent out at one time. Nor can it handle the frequency of messages sent out in a minimal amount of time. Even after increasing the elapsed time between sent messages (which is counter productive for me), I still receive error messages or crashing problems. I have even tried creating smaller groups of people using the standard text feature on the EVO and I still receive the same problems.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME....Or can you suggest a phone that has mass texting capabilities with the option to edit text messages that are being forwarded and more importantly......IT WILL NOT CRASH!
Thanks
Skydoll
I’ve been getting a few group texts from friends and coworkers but I don’t understated how it is helpful and it did not seem like the M7 did it like this. My main issue is that something seems to be wrong as group texts don’t seem to be playing the notification sound and are not setting the text notification icon at the top of the screen. So I open the messages app to find bold unread messages and multiple threads for single accounts because it creates a new thread every time that user sends me a group text with a different combination of people in the group.
Bump. Anyone, seen this?
Hi there, I am currently having a bit of an urgent dilemma.
Basically, I'm wanting to send messages to a group of people, however every time I get this message propping up that there is a large number of messages.
Additionally, how on earth are you even meant to send group messages to people that you have grouped under the same group in contacts??? I'm lost with this new GUI.
Someone PLEASE save me.
inb4 search the forums - i definitely did
using the default essaging app on a google pixel on verizon.
when i initially send or receive a group text, i'm clearly in a group text. but my replies to that thread get divided and sent out as individual replies effectively taking me out of the group text. the other recipients therefore cannot tell to what i am replying. the HTC One didn't do this - group messages were group messages, individual messages were individual messages.
what am i not understanding about how to reply in and stay in group texts?
thanks!
Its the way it was designed, it should say it when writing a new group text.
'This is a mass text, Each recipient will receive an SMS messages from you, Replies will appear in individual conversions.'

Click to collapse
To fix this click on the three dots in the top right corner, go to settings, then click on advanced. The first option should be group messaging and you can change this to use group mms instead of a mass text.
Shows how much I've use a group message lol . thanks for info
