No option to make calls from SIM 2 in Dialer app - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I want to be able to easily make calls from the stock Dialer app from my second SIM card. If i go into Settings>Dual SIM Settings and change the default SIM card I can make calls from each SIM. However I dont seem to have the ability (or I have missed it) to make a call from the non-primary SIM. Per the Huawei user guide (screenshot b.png) I should have 2 buttons in the Dialer app, I only see 1 (a.png). I tried explaining this to Huawei in the support chat but it was useless. They basically told me to to do a factory reset.
Any ideas?

Change your default calling SIM under the dual SIM settings to "Not set".

Well, I do not own a Mate 9 but I have one Huawei with emui 5.1, and in my case if I make a long press in the call button and then swipe to one side without lifting the finger I can change of SIM.
If you have emui 5.1 installed, try this.

You set the automatic power on/off, check it.
Deactivate it and reboot.

Mi band 2 on honor 8

Hi, i have an honor 8 since 1 month, and i can't recive notification from whatsapp whit the miband 2. The normal message's notification work perfectly, but not for whatsapp. Someone has that problem? Any ideas on how to solve it? I use mi fit app and mi band tools ( an app that is compatible whit mi band 2 , downloaded form play store) bat both aren't working. Thanks
Hi,
I have same configuration + I am Czech translator of MiFit, so I know this app deeply You need to set app, which you want to get notify from in Settings>Band Alerts of MiFit. Also, you should add MiFit to expections list ot not kill by EMUI (settings in battery).

Do you have enabled MiFit in exceptions, so it not will be killed? Also, what is notification settings of WhatsApp? I am recommending to uninstall WA and install it again. Then, enable it in MiFit again.

No, still no notification
Wow, in that case, Factory Reset must help. If not, then I am out of advices.. Maybe... What about DND (Do Not Disturb) mode? Isn't it still on?
Did you check notification center in settings to check mifit and miband tools and see what the apps settings are?
I had a similar issue using both the mi fit and mi band tools app for notifications and I had to play around with both notification center and battery settings to get them to work properly.

Notification bar auto hiding since update

This morning, my phone updated to 39.2.A.0.417, and since then, I've noticed that when on the home screen (and only the home screen I believe) the notification bar at the top seems to auto hide. This was not something it was previously set to, and I'm not even aware of a setting anywhere that does this.
Now, I've had a look through the settings to see if I missed something, and I can't see anything anywhere. So what I would like to know is if this has happened to anyone else? If so, how did you rectify it? If it does have a setting somewhere, where can I find it?
I'm finding this immensely annoying having to pull the notification bar down constantly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I actually tried half you advice, and just cleared the cache for the Home app. Just to save me the hassle of resetting up my home pages (lazy). Turns out that it was just something in the cache that screwed it up!
Completely forgot to even consider that as an option until your post. So thank you!

I RE-MAPPED THE JOVI BUTTON on my Chinese NEX

I had tried a few different button remaping tools and finally found one and the settings that worked. I'll update this post later from my PC with the steps I took, but for now, here are some basics - plus see screen shots.
The app: Buttons Remapper (no root)
The app config: From device settings , make sure you have all permissions turned on, all notifications enabled and high power consumption toggle on for this app. I'll post steps shortly.
The button Remapper config:
1. Open the app
2. Click the pink plus to add a new routine
3. Select " other" from the "key" drop down.
4. While on "other" ..push the Jovi button. This will produce a new entry in the "key" list. In my case it's " Key_308"
5. Select " long press" and set to 0.25. this is faster then Jovi responds so ...don't try something else or you may get Jovi to pop up first. It still can happen
6. Now under "action" select your desired action. I first tested "recent apps" which worked great. I then tested selecting the app " Google assistant" and then finally, I also tested selecting a Nova launcher action " Google assistant". All 3 worked.
So lastly, I went to the phones settings > Jovi > smart button > set this to " none "
Ok so I also tested with the app physically running in the back vs not, it seams to work better when the app is not manually closed. I did note that if you hold the button to long, I still get Jovi to pop.
Also, if you are on the always on screen and select the button, when you come out of unlock, Google assistant will be waiting there for you if that's the action you mapped to
That's all for now, I'll add more details when I am back to my PC!
Thank you, I will check.
Okay I am asking a siily question. Where do I find the Pink Plus.
I followed your instructions, work pretty well. Using it. Will see if I find any bugs
Confirmed working on Indian version too.
I had tried this app but it didn't work because i wasn't putting delay of 0.25 seconds. It works like charm now. Thanks man!!

Thanks for the quick reply and pic too. How did you go about getting Button Remapper to work under accessibility options. It keeps asking for me to log into my Vivo Account to allow it access to the system.
Good news. Also give permission to the app and Google Asistant woks great. I uninstall Jovi. [emoji1360]

Not sure about that part.. Indian version does not require a Vivo account. Wait for OP or any other chinese nex owner to reply.

Rebooting works well, but after a certain period of time, pressing the button again does not work.
I have an Indian Vivo Nex but strangely the side button when long pressed launches Google Assistant, and when pressed normally takes me to Google lens. No mods done whatsoever.

If your notifications aren't working, go to settings-developer settings

developer settings (tap MIUI 8 times to show this menu), then scroll to bottom and disable "MIUI 10 Optimization"
now your notifications will stick correctly

Same global HW and FW 10.0.11.0. doesn't work for android messages, even tried resetting the notification permissions. Even wont send sms out now.
(Edit)
Fixed sms by switching to default app then back to Android Messages. Still no notifications on Android Messages.

Same for me. Changing this setting broke Messages which had been working since I went to the weekly eu rom, it wouldn't send or receive so I went back to Textra.

Switching default SMS apps fixed my problem as far as the sending and receiving SMS, probably the same for you. Still no notifications if that's what you are talking about.

I was actually getting notifications as well since switching to the weekly build. I'll try switching back to Messages again tomorrow.

Odd, I only tired Textra and some other SMS apps and they all worked fine now
Go in setting-notification- app that u want n put urgent in priority

So all the developer setting change did for me was to reset all the stupid permissions I had to trawl through in the first place. What seems to fix notifications, at least on my setup, for Google Messages is to switch to Textra, then switch back to Messages, notifications work fine after that.
