Swapping back and menu button on stock ROM - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So the title says it all. I've been looking all around the internet to find a way to reorganize my navbar (like you can do in custom ROMs) but can't seem to find an elegant solution which doesn't rely on shady developers' google play apps which don't even work in most cases. Is there a way to do to it over ADB or flashing a magisk module perhaps? My phone is rooted with magisk and I wouldn't mind using xposed if needed.
Thanks in advance

Okay nevermind, I actually did it with an app from play store (Custom Navigation Bar, rated 3.8), it required root or ADB connection.

[Q] hide apps on stock?

Hello everyone,
My friend has a T-Mobile One S that is completely stock and unrooted.
I was wondering if there is a way to be able to hide applications from the app drawer without rooting the device.
Does anyone know a way of doing this with the default launcher?
I have looked at a few apps in the play store and couldn't find anything.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.
Thank you.
As far as I know this is not possible without using Xposed modules or third party apps and both requires root. An alternative is to use a different Launcher that has the "hide app" option included but that might not be desired

How Can I Disable ALL Apps from App Settings?

We know that since KitKat it is possible to disable in built system apps, but there are some system apps that cannot be disabled, like Google Play Services for example. If I want to enable/disable it I have to keep my phone rooted, but I'm a '90s kid and I like playing Pokemon GO, which is not working on rooted devices. So, is it possible to extend to all apps the enable/disable feature in app settings? In this way I could enable/disable core system apps without rooting everytime.
By the way, I love root, but with a custom ROM I barely use this function. I root my phone once in a while just update AdAway, then remove it to play PoGO. I have a OnePlus 2 with RR 5.8.0 (ResurrectionRemix-N-v5.8.0-20161209-oneplus2).
Any tips or hints on how this thing works would be helpful. How Android knows which apps you can disable or not?
Thanks in advance!

You can't disable system core apps on your non rooted android.
If you disable core apps to your rooted android then it makes your system unstable.

SystemUI calling OpenCamera?

Hi, all.
I'm running a new Blu Life One X3, rooted with TWRP (package:/data/app/me.twrp.twrpapp-2/base.apk=me.twrp.twrpapp) as bootloader and Magisk (package:/data/app/com.topjohnwu.magisk-1/base.apk=com.topjohnwu.magisk) as root. I installed Greenify (package:/data/app/com.oasisfeng.greenify-1/base.apk=com.oasisfeng.greenify).
{ASIDE: Why is the forum removing the link to Magisk, replacing it with a bunch of stars?}
I've got the systemless Xposed Framework (package:/system/priv-app/XposedInstaller/XposedInstaller.apk=de.robv.android.xposed.installer) installed as a module in Magisk. Inside the Xposed Framework I installed the Greenify Experimental Features.
I stripped out a lot of the Google pre-install apps and used others. I documented my rooting and configuring the phone here:

One of the Google apps I removed was the camera, replacing it with Open Camera (package:/mnt/expand/91bb70b1-bf59-4845-ae03-48415870e87b/app/net.sourceforge.opencamera-1/base.apk=net.sourceforge.opencamera).
I occasionally see Greenify pop up a notification which says "SystemUI is using Open Camera"... does anyone know what's causing this? Could it be because I've put the Open Camera icon in the Quick Settings menu? I've looked at the Activities, Services, Receivers, Providers and Permissions for Open Camera in Disable Application [ROOT] (package:/data/app/com.iamaner.oneclickfreeze-1/base.apk=com.iamaner.oneclickfreeze), and see nothing nefarious.
Well, after a bit of testing, I've answered my own question... yes, putting the Open Camera icon in the Quick Settings menu causes Greenify to issue a notification that "SystemUI is using Open Camera".

[Resolved] How to force an app to NOT be in fullscreen or suggest me a non fullscreen paint-like

Hello, I want to have something extremely simple yet I can't find a working way to have it: I just want to be able to solve some sudoku-like puzzles where I have to shade some cells using a paint bucket tool on png files just like on windows paint, but I want to see if wifi is available while doing so, but the irony is I struggled to find a paint-like that does such a simple thing, it's called PhotoSuite and the problem is that it hides the notification bar.
So do you know an alternative to this app ? Or a way to force the app to not be in fullscreen or at least show wifi signal on overlay (and if possible icon notification that may appear from a game telling me it's my turn to play) ? I tried a module of xposed but the problem is that with last stable or even experimental version the framework is still not installed after download and reboot. Bird bar, Smart Statusbar, Swipe status bar, "open notification bar", also don't do it. My phone is on android 4.1.2.

You cant expect everything to work with 4.1.2, 4.1.2 isn't really supported anymore, most of today's apps are for 4.4 and newer.
If you want to use current apps and software, may I suggest you upgrade to a more recent device that has at least 4.4 or 5.0. It doesn't have to be a new device, there are plenty of used devices with 4.4 and newer software.

Well xposed is actually something that works better, if not only, with android 4, so unless my phone specifically don't work with it for some reason it should have worked. But alternatively, I'm pretty sure there must be some very basic paint-like apps that works on my phone, actually I'm pretty sure some were made even for android 1 given how basic that is.
Since I really don't want much from my phone (I almost never went to the google play store) I don't want to buy a more recent one and the one I have doesn't have any custom rom to upgrade it, unlike a galaxy s I have (but it's way slower and have less ram).
There we go: I tried many other paint softwares, none did what I wanted, so instead I tried to make xposed framework work, it works perfectly on my older phone but on this one all I had to do was to check "Disabled resource hooks". I'm still surprised by the fact that it's way easier to force an app to be in fullscreen than to prevent it.

Rooted with Stock few Questions

Hey There
Ok just unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP and Magisk and on the most recent updates
On previous one plus phones I used Custom Roms but sticking with stock this time
So restored apps via Google drive and just have a few issues
Scrolling through the settings and apps some I dont want to appear there. Example I have 3 Titanium apps?? On regular one Titatnium Back up add on and one Titanium Back up Pro. Another example is Nova Launcher and Nova Settings.
How can I remove some of these apps?
Using Titanium I tried to remove the apps I dont need like Google Play movies, Netflix etc. Removed them but still showing?. However when I try to remove others eg Digital Wellbeing I get failed to locate the apk file?? Do I have to remove apps and install from scratch rather than have back ups from previous phone(OP5 on old rom)
Using Magisk and want to install You Tube Vanced. I have downloaded this and can see its installed but cannot see it on the list of apps?
Final one simple thing trying to get the settings for phone. I pull down the top screen and I can see that the phone is set on vibrate but how can I change settings to silent, ring etc.
Still trying to figure the above out if anyone can assist some maybe DAH questions I should know but just seeking assistance
Cheers

You talking about the app drawer? If you have nova, you can hide anything you don't want to see through Nova settings. If you are talking about completely removing some system apps, find a debloater. Pretty sure there is one on here, and there is also xXx-nolimits magisk rom that can also debloat and add things (like YouTube vanced).
You might have YouTube vanced installed, but I believe you need to uninstall any updates to actual YouTube. Might even need to delete it entirely. Not too sure as Ive never used vanced as I don't see the point.
The switch on the side of the phone may be on vibrate. Try pushing it all the way up or down. Other than that, should just be in sound settings.
Yes, for Youtube Vanced you need to go into the app details for Youtube and uninstall all updates then uncheck the box for auto updates.
