Hey There
Ok just unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP and Magisk and on the most recent updates
On previous one plus phones I used Custom Roms but sticking with stock this time
So restored apps via Google drive and just have a few issues
Scrolling through the settings and apps some I dont want to appear there. Example I have 3 Titanium apps?? On regular one Titatnium Back up add on and one Titanium Back up Pro. Another example is Nova Launcher and Nova Settings.
How can I remove some of these apps?
Using Titanium I tried to remove the apps I dont need like Google Play movies, Netflix etc. Removed them but still showing?. However when I try to remove others eg Digital Wellbeing I get failed to locate the apk file?? Do I have to remove apps and install from scratch rather than have back ups from previous phone(OP5 on old rom)
Using Magisk and want to install You Tube Vanced. I have downloaded this and can see its installed but cannot see it on the list of apps?
Final one simple thing trying to get the settings for phone. I pull down the top screen and I can see that the phone is set on vibrate but how can I change settings to silent, ring etc.
Still trying to figure the above out if anyone can assist some maybe DAH questions I should know but just seeking assistance
Cheers

You talking about the app drawer? If you have nova, you can hide anything you don't want to see through Nova settings. If you are talking about completely removing some system apps, find a debloater. Pretty sure there is one on here, and there is also xXx-nolimits magisk rom that can also debloat and add things (like YouTube vanced).
You might have YouTube vanced installed, but I believe you need to uninstall any updates to actual YouTube. Might even need to delete it entirely. Not too sure as Ive never used vanced as I don't see the point.
The switch on the side of the phone may be on vibrate. Try pushing it all the way up or down. Other than that, should just be in sound settings.
Yes, for Youtube Vanced you need to go into the app details for Youtube and uninstall all updates then uncheck the box for auto updates.

When trying to remove bloat from my phone with titanium backup I freeze the apps. After freezing them they still are in the app drawer and in the market. I can't open them up or anything anymore, but do anyone else know if there is a special setting or something I need to use to get it out of the app drawer?

That's because freezing only prevents the app from running, it doesn't do what you're thinking it does. You can disable apps you don't want in Settings -> Apps -> All if you still want to keeps the apps around on your phone (but hidden from the app drawer) or you can uninstall them directly from Titanium Backup
On my previous phone freezing hid the apps from the drawer AND it explicitly says when you freeze them that they are now hidden from the app drawer. It is supposed to hide it like its uninstalled but be easy to unfreeze. That's the whole point of it...

Obviously I don't know as much as I think I do
Well if nothing else your post let's me know that others are experiencing the same problem even if they don't realize it is a problem?
Which apps? Everything I've frozen with Titanium gets removed just fine from the app drawer. This includes all the AT&T bloat: anything with "AT&T" in it, MOG, Top HD Games, Yellow Pages, and a couple others.
All of that crap. For example I have all the ATT stuff frozen but they still show up.
1 did you specify any different settings for titanium?
2 what launcher are you using? I'm looking in launcher pro
Nevermind updating appears to have fixed the problem.
I'm not sure this is the right forum to post this question, if not please direct me to the proper place.
Is there an easy way to uninstall multiple apps with TBP? I tried to delete the pesky ones like Car Home, Fota Kill, Live Wallpaper, Magic Smoke, Music Visual Wallpaper, Pico TTS, Setup Wizard, etc., but once I reboot, they are back again, SO I tried removing a couple by long pressing each one and selecting the option of Force Remove app but it is going to take a while if eerytime I choose one it has to restart. Is there a way to do a multiple Froce Removal?
You could uninstall apps from the launcher itself (i don't think the stock launcher can do that), but in launchers like go launcher, next launcher, u just long press on the app and it shows a cross mark on top of it. Just hit that it will uninstall.
Or you can go to manage apps in settings, and do it there.
Are they system apps.? If so you should use any root browser and go into system /app and delete em.
Don't delete random apps. You might mess it up.
And BTW, this should be in Q & A. Not general

This are system apps that came with the CWM7. ADW doesn't allow me to uninstall them. Going into settings>manage apps doesn't give me the option to uninstall.
I've frozen the apps to make sure I am able to delete them with out any problems. I've uninstalled a couple one by one via TBP Force Removal BUT it would take forever because it reboots twice every time I remove an app.
Moderator can you please tranfer this to Q&A??? Sorry about that

As I said, use a root browser, go to system/app, delete apps from there. And after deleting all the apps u wanted to, do a reboot (not mandatory though)

Hello,
Rooted my Note Pro but have no ideas what to do now.
Any suggestions how to make the tablet more productive now?
Any cool apps I can install and also how can I customise my lock screen?
Thanks.
I'd say start with Titanium Backup. Run a full backup of all apps and system data, then save a copy of that offline somewhere. Personally I did both that and an nandroid backup in TWRP (see the development section) prior to doing anything.
Then I'd go into Titanium Backup and start freezing applications that are unwanted. Personally I never uninstall them straight off, instead I freeze and see how the device responds to that. If all goes well I keep the app frozen, if not I defrost it. Since I'm not pressed for storage space yet I have not uninstalled any system apps, merely froze them. If you do decide to uninstall things be sure that this is something you want to do and that there will be no ill effects.
I'd also grab Xposed Installer and start experimenting with modules (there's a thread in the apps and themes section about Wanam, I think I listed some modules that I use there).
I've done so many tweaks to my tablet I've lost track lol.

Thanks for the help!
I've seen you decreased the DPI on your Note Pro, so basically you have more space now as all items are smaller?
Yeah there's different schools of thoughts when it comes to the DPI setting. Out of the box what you're seeing equates to a setting of 320 (as far as I know).
One school of thought is globally change this setting to a lower value making things render at a smaller scale thereby giving you more things on screen in ALL applications. The other method is to use Xposed module App Settings to change DPI settings on a per application basis.
There's pro's and cons to both, and you could potentially do a hybrid of that. All depends on what you want to accomplish. What I've found is some of my applications don't play nice with lower DPI settings, for example Next Issue refuses to load some magazines. Other issues include anomalies in graphical elements like when I set Chrome to a lower DPI setting and then minimize it in window mode the circle icon for Chrome is not rendered properly.
So for myself I've settled on a per-app basis and I'm living with the anomalies like the Chrome icon one. One setting I like is changing the com.sec.android.app.flashbarservice DPI down to a low number like 256 or so which gives the right side bar tray for multiwindow apps a much smaller icon size. In landscape I now can see 7 rows of icons. I'd like to find a way to do the same to the notification/quick settings panel on an individual basis but I haven't found it yet.
Adaway, Trickster MOD kernal settings, busybox, and xposed.
those are my go-to.
As suggested, wanam xposed, to add more apps to multi-window.
Same here. Xposed with Wanam and App Settings. Also use Exynos Overclock. (It doesn't Overclock yet, but you can disable cores etc. Working with the dev to get GPU control working on Exynos 5420.)

Every time I try to edit the apps on my favorites panel I just get an error after a few minutes saying favorite apps panel has stopped. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
Thanks

I'm seeing this too. I was able to remove all the shortcuts except contacts and camera. When I try to remove those, I get the app panel has stopped error.
In trying to troubleshoot, I did a factory reset. With a clean boot, the favorites panel works fine and I was able to remove all the shortcuts. This means that it has to do with possibly one of the following:
1) The number of apps I have installed (I have a lot)
2) Xposed and modules
3) Apps I've frozen
4) Another app that is causing a problem
Is your ROM rooted? Any similarities?
I am ussing ntt docomo carrier one. Rom is offical
I tryed do factory reset them install left than 100 apps it ok. But more than 100 apps it got error has stopped.

Well I guess we got our answer. Hopefully they will fix this limitation soon.
I do not have this issue (I have the Sprint version) even tough I have quite a few apps. The only thing that bugs me is wanting to put an app in the favorite panel that is already in a folder. can't seem to do it unless I take it out of the folder first. But that's for another thread.

What is "quite a few"? More than 100 or less (user apps, not system apps)?
148 at last count.

Well, guess that debunks the >100 app theory. To confirm, are you able to remove *all* of the shortcuts including camera and contacts with no problems?
No, don't want you to get the wrong idea. I read it wrong. (I was reading too many threads at once) I was referring to total number of apps on my device. My bad.
On the Edit favorite app selection screen, there are 84 apps and on the panel itself there are 16. So yeah that 100 limit still stands. And you can only add 20 apps to that panel. Although, if you group them in folders all 100 can go in here.
TS
I can now report that >100 apps it not true. I first experienced this problem on my T-Mo Edge with 200+ apps. I just started to setup my Sprint Edge with the same collection of apps. It works just fine. I am able to add/remove any apps with no FC.
For those who have problems, let's try to figure out the commonalities:
1) Have you frozen/disabled any apps? If yes, what?
2) Have you used Autostarts or similar apps to stop apps from being triggered? If yes, what?
3) Do you have Xposed installed?
4) Do you use Wanam or other modules? What others?
I solved my problem. Not directly, but it worked.
I TiBu'ed the data from my Sprint Edge (Favorite Apps panel) and restored it on the T-Mo Edge. Viola, the two apps I couldn't remove are gone and I was able to fully utilize the Favorite Apps panel.
same problem
I'm also experiencing the issue. It won't even let me get to the page for editing either favorites panel. And I only have 84 apps!
Less than 100 apps here too and I can't remove gallery without the force close. All other apps can be removed with no problem.
A way to fix this error is to boot the phone with volume down pressed (safe mode). This way you can enter Favorite Apps Panel to edit (add/remove) some app links (those originally in rom I think).
PD: I would like to know where the current settings of Favorite Apps Panel are stored to make a backup of the file or try to edit it externally.
Recently, thanks to @strongst I learned that I could freeze the System Update app to get rid of notifications (using Titanium Pro).
This made me wonder… Wow, what else could be frozen, or uninstalled?
So what do y'all see as essential things to freeze for system performance?
Here is a list I found on a 6T thread, no idea if it's still applicable.
