Hey guys,
I'm having an issue here with my beloved Mate 9.
Whenever I turn off Bluetooth. I notice that currently connected devices are still attached. Regardless of which method I use to turn off BT albeit toggle from pull down or going into settings and turning it off my main toggle.
It seems my phone refuses to shut it off.
Which firmware are you running? Which model?
I never had that problem on all versions since b138
Goto apps more and show system processes.
Find bluetooth stop and clear cache and data.
Maybe this helps
My device: Mate 9 supersu B190 Mediapad X2 GEM 701->703 B212 KangVIP (AJ mod)
There might be another program running that forces bluetooth on.

Thanks for the replies.
I cleared the cache and data but unfortunately no go.
I'm thinking it's a possible hardware problem. However, the issue started recently. When I toggle it from the shade, there's no response. When I pull up the notification shade then pull it back down the icon will change but Bluetooth resumes on as connected devices (tested a few) When I disable or enable from settings, it just turns greyed out then I'm forced to hold down from the shade toggle to re-enter the menu.
I'm on MHA-L29c56 running B190. Considering rooting at this point for further troubleshooting.

Has anyone figured out the solution for notification issue on Mate 9 AL00.
Currently on: B153
Android Authority said today that an update is coming to fix that, but I haven't read that anywhere else.
They said it in the article about Mate 9 issues and how to fix them, also the touchscreen issue.

I'm on B156 too... The problem still there... We have to wait a little more.... For now you have to lock all the apps that you get notifications to recent apps...
Notification bug:
The aggressive RAM management and battery optimizations that cause the issue with third party launchers (mentioned above) also results in notifications not coming through. An update to fix this problem is rolling out now, and you should receive it shortly.

I've got the same problem with AL29 B126.
In fact if I don't receive notifications after some hours the system will close automatically the app.

Yes I sold it two weeks ago.
I've bought a Moto Z Play, android stock. No issue.
Push notifications
Pushover still not working on B183. I have configured to allow notifications, priority display, etc. Its set to 'Dont Close' in the battery manager lock screen power savings section. I have it as 'Allowed' in the Exempt from battery optimization...
Has anyone got push notifications to work?

where did you get B183 Im still on B175 in my AL00 and Im able to receive notifications once I locked the apps I want to receive notifications from
I hate being that guy but for the record I have no notification issues.
I've set Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Trigger, etc. to not close on screen lock and after a month of owning it I guess EMUI's learning algorithm got a hang of how I use my device and now it never kills those processes from memory.
I did find that after not using WhatsApp for a couple of months it DID start killing it from memory so it does seem to be constantly evaluating my usage patterns.
I'm on B156.

Hallo, last night I received B182 update , install it , and now everything seems to be solved
I briefly want to describe my experience to help those who are getting crazy with that issue like us .
Got my Mate 9 one week ago and immediately get the bad experience of notification problems (Whatsapp at first, Telegram later. I'm not a Fb user) . Delay of all notifications when the phone were in stand by mode (screen off) after 10 minutes. I've tried ALL that was described in the several forums I searched to solve the issue and that you confirmed: NO WAY to get rid of that
I've noticed that when the function - "app gemella" sorry- "dual app" was on (I use two sim's and whatsapp account) the problem was really big. I tried phone hard reset, reinstall latest version of Whatsapp apk but nothing changed. Yesterday I contacted Huawei service assistance but they were only able to tell me to wait for an upgrade that fix this bug... They even didn't know when the upgrade could sort...
And magically , last night , it came the new MHA-L29C432 B182 . The phone seems to be re-born , very fast and reliable in giving all the notifications I got.. If I think that I was about to sell it...
it was working fine with me on B186 (chinese version) but after fw update to B213 gapps notification and auto sync are acting up, sometimes I got some notifications but not all the time, I re-applied all the settings as described in other forums and still issues is not fix
Update: after reapplying notifications and permissions settings to the apps I want to get notifications, deleting and adding my google accounts, lock them in my phone, complete depleting my phone battery and charge it again..my phone is back to normal again, battery last the usual 2 days under moderate/high usage, notifications and autosync working, not sure but I'm under the impression that after a major update it takes some time to the AI of the phone to get back to what it used to be or maybe I was just lucky, still Mate 9 rocks !!!

Not sure if my issue is the same but I'm losing notifications randomly. I've tried loads of things also from forums but it seems without any lasting success. However after a restart I'm keeping the notifications for the moment and they're not randomly disappearing.
Not sure if this is of any lasting help mind and that they will again start disappearing randomly.
My next step is a factory reset but what a pain that is!
I'm on B182.
Update: so far so good. I now have notifications that are 12hrs old and still visible. I'm wondering that if you make settings changes, they aren't picked up unless you do a restart!?

I got it from FF updater, some also got it from HiCare/Update app
I updated my honor 8 to B360 (OTA , I didnt do factory reset after update..)
I sometimes have bugs like text in notifications dissapears or gets glitched , also pull down for status bar gesture (on scanner) sometimes doesnt work ?
Is it because I didnt do factory reset or B360 is a bit buggy ... These are minor bugs but can be anoying
I m loving update

I accidentally discovered a "fix" for the notification panel bug. Sometimes it doesn't pull down with the finger eh? I set my smartkey to do nothing when pressed once. When the panel glitch occurs, I just press the smartkey once, and then the swipe down action will start working again.
Well it's essentially recommended to do a factory reset after upgrade.
I'm running it and i have no bugs, just do a factory reset from recovery. It's a major update so bugs like this appears sometimes if you dont do a factory reset.
The nifty tether without root hack is now patched.
In MM you pop the sim card out... Turn on tether... Pop the sim back in and presto tethering.... This worked great but 7.0 blocked it... Anyone found a work around without root
What happened to me on Nougat is when I receive like multiple consecutive WhatsApp messages, and I pull down the notifications (you know, to read the message without sending the read receipt ), I only see the last message, not the ones before, so I'm obliged to open the whole convo...
This and other little things like battery life made me roll back to MM.
is that real that on honor 8, the gyroscope stops working when you update to nougat and you have to roll back the previews update to use vr apps, pokèmon go and so on?
this can be my new device and this is the only thing that stops me becouse i use vr a lot.

I realized, when you leave huawei "Health" app installed, gyroscope is not freezing. Have you tried that?

Are the apps fully compatible with Oreo?
Stock widgets or any?
I've had several weather widgets as well as KWGT widgets and all update. I'm on 8.0.0.360(c636), 360a from FF.
The folks at business calendar say the problem is EMUI 8, not Oreo. I have several widgets that won't update since the upgrade: MyStocks, Business Calendar, Today weather. In addition, a program US Topo Maps, that would record hikes now stops recording as soon as the screen goes off, even though I have exempted it from battery optimization. I exempted all of the apps whose widgets are not working, no help. It makes me want to install a ROM without EMUI.
Changing the screen resolution forces widgets to update.
I like the Huawei Mate 9 and its camera is excellent. The only thing I don't like about it is EMUI. Huawei is its own worst enemy in this respect.
Same on P10. After update to oreo /emui8 widgets stop updating. Havent found any solution.
For me they update, the only problem I have is with fonts not sticking.
It always uses the default font. Guess I'll have to do that factory reset soon..
Huawei has taken a supermachine with Nougat to set it like a Nokia 3300 with Oreo.
Yes, I also have this frustrating issue. Rotating the phone causes the widgets to update.
it doesn't matter what UI I use - EMUI or NOVA.
What is very frustrating is that several updates have been applied since Oreo, time passes, but Huawei doesn't do anything to solve this important bug.
I wonder if the problem is also present on the P20 with Oreo 8.1.
Widgets doesn't update automatically P20 Pro EMUI 8.1
The problem still perist in EMUI 8.1
I installed AOSP, guide at entry 22 of
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/help/request-guide-t3774615
and my widgets update, have March security update, but headphones don't work. Whack-a-mole.
Update: If I plug in the headphones first, and then play music, headphones work. If I plug headphones in while music is playing, they don't. So the problem is switching rather than playing, which I can live with.
same problem here mate 9 .Stock also .Nova launcher
EMUI 8.1
I was also having this issue when I updated to emui 8.1. my apps stopped refreshing/updating so I started playing around and may have found the solution.
This fix has solved the widgets not refreshing issue for me.
- Go to Settings, Apps and Notifications, Apps.
- Choose the app that you are using as widgets
- Go to battery option in the app, click app launch, and then turn off 'manage automatically'
- Manage manually: all options turned on.
Hope this helps everyone.
Hey,
I've got the problem that some of my apps running, for example familionet (a location sharing app in which someone can request your location), stop running in background. As I saw a possible solution somewhere, I tried opening up settings - battery - the specific app and turn on manual for all the options instead of automatically manage battery settings, but this doesn't seem to work.
Is this a known problem? Is there any solution for this problem? The Huawai P20 Lite is currently running Oreo 8.0, not rooted.
Hi all,
I have been facing a weird issue of notifications not being pushed (some apps) on my S22U.
It was bearable in the beginning but now I am missing notifications of MS Teams and other important apps. Which quickly turns it into a nuisance.
I am rooted with latest magisk, lsposed - zygisk.
I would like to resolve it without reflashing my firmware again. Any help is appreciated.
Few things I have tried.
Checking if the notifications settings is on of the app.
Checking if I have not accidentally enabled DND (which is off)
Restarting the device.
Googling if someone have similar issue.
Reinstalling the app.
Clearing app data.
Disabling and re-enabling the notifications.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure battery optimization is turned off on the affected apps & that you have data enabled in the background as well on each affected app.

How about in the phone's device care/battery settings? Is the power saving option turned on?
Just spit-balling here, but, I myself forget to turn it off (sometimes) on a new device set-up/after a factory reset. Guessing power saving option turned on could possibly affect timely notifications.....
Checked. Power saving is off. Appreciate the spit-balling, never know what will work.
same issue here, i hear notification sounds, but never pop-up message or screen wake-ups.
just beeps...no solution found so far
I don't even get the chimes. I have watch 4 too. Thought if not on phone it might get pushed on watch, but no luck there too

This happens to me with LinkedIn: I get notif sound, but no pop up and icon on top bar. If I swipe down the notification is there though.
I am not getting any indication, no notification in statusbar and notification bar and no notif sounds. Weird that it is happening on some apps. I think some magisk module might be culprit but not certain.
