Hi everyone,
I switched over only I cannot make/receive group SMS or send/receive MMS. I thought it wouldn't be a problem with the CDMA system both Verizon and T-Mobile use. I double checked my APN settings, but I can't find a section to input any info on SMS/MMS that is referenced here.
I have the following input:
Name - T-Mobile US
APN - fast.t-mobile.com
Proxy - not set
Port- not set
Username - Not set
Password - Not set
Server - wap.voicestream.com
MMSC - http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Multimedia message proxy - 216.155.165.50
Multimedia message port - Not set
MMC - 310
MNC - 260
Authentication type - Not set
APN type - default
APN protocol - IPv4
APN roaming protocol - IPv4
Turn APN on/off - ON
Bearer- Unspecified
Mobile virtual network operator type - None
Mobile virtual network operator type - Not set
Any ideas? My idiot friends won't migrate to WhatsApp/signal/messenger.
Thanks!

I have a HTC Touch Pro which I got from Three in Australia. I have the energy rom running on it and it has been sim unlocked. I have put in a Lebara sim from the UK and I can not get the data connection working.. no email or google maps
I have called Lebara and they have said they don't have setting for the HTC.I know Lebara is on the Vodafone network so I tried setting the data connection to Vodafone but it still didn't work. I may not have done it properly though.
If anyone knows a way around this it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
I would search the networking forum for the settings like apn and the likes for the network you want to use and then manually add them
try to find lebera settings from different phones and use that settin in the htc should work
Go to Start>Settings>Connections>Connections>New Connection(At the top)
And enter these settings.
Profile Name - Lebara WAP
Bearer - GPRS/3G Modem (This will be a drop down list, make sure you select modem + GPRS/3G)
IP Address - 212.183.137.012
APN - uk.lebara.mobi
User ID - wap
Password - wap
WAP 2.0 Port - 8799
WAP 1.x Port - 9201
Authentication - Normal
Secure Settings - Off"
You may not need all these settings, but I hope this helped ( I haven't tested this but it should work)

Don't know if it makes any difference but my stock APN settings include "supl" in the TELUS SP APN Type field.
Case sensitivity also, especially for APN field (should be all lower-case)!
I just wonder this issue.
here are two cases of APN settings -EXAMPLE A and EXAMPLE B
EXAMPLE A

APN: apn.jp

(MMS)

Username: username
Password: password
Server: (Not set)
MMSC: http://mms/
MMS proxy: mms.proxy.ne.jp
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 440
MNC: 55
Authentication Type: CHAP
APN type: mms
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4

EXAMPLE B
(Common to both Default and MMS)

I have just checked other threads, websites, etc, and some descriptions about "MMS without mobile data enabled", and I wondered.
Here is an interesting thread. According to it, we can send/receive MMS even when mobile data is disabled on some customised environment (not pure Android) such as MIUI, HTC, Sony, but we cannot send/receive MMS when mobile data is disabled on pure Android or Samsung Galaxy series.
I really wonder we must turn on mobile data toggles on APN settings EXAMPLE A. If APN setting is like EXAMPLE B, it may be true that we must turn on mobile data toggle in order to send/receive MMS.
On previous Synbian OS (Nokia), jailbreaked iOS (Apple), Windows Mobile, and fearture phones, we can send/receive MMS without mobile data toggle switch enabled. Why cannot only Android do the same if it is true that mobile data toggle must be swtiched on just for MMS.
There is another problem related to battery consumption. If we must always turn on mobile data toggle, the battery consumption will increase so rapidly, due to other background data tnansaction than MMS. The "packet filtering for MMS only" is vital and indispensable feature in terms of saving battery consumption, which is normal on any other mobile OS.
It is so easy to say on "APS Setting EXAMPLE B", "We must turn on mobile data toggle when sending/receiving MMS"
What I want to know is which case is correct on "APN settings EXAMPLE A"
Case 1:
Even on pure Android (nexus, etc), we must turn on mobile data toggle when sending/receiving MMS,regardless of SAMSUNG or Non-SAMSUNG handsets. MMS without mobile data enabled is only available on some manufacturer's customised Android handsets such as HTC and SONY.
Case 2:
Even on pure Android (nexus, etc), MMS without mobile data enabled is available as long we use any handsets except SAMSUNG.
It is just bug on SAMSUNG handset that we must turn on mobile data toggle even when we send/receive MMS only.
Which is right answer ? - Case 1? or Case 2? oe else?
I would like to know your answer, opinion and experience as much as possible. Thank you for your co-operation in advance.
