Hi.i got a touch cruise before 2 weeks and i face a serious problem.it loses signal from my provider all time and i must enter comm manager to enable and after disable airplane mode.sometimes it says that my sim is missing.anyone has an idea where the problem is?
I had this problem with my Orbit 1 and never did find a solution. Other SIM cards from other providers did not have the same problem. I also found that it was effected by other devices such as a transceiver that uses Tetra. I would love to know if there is a solution.
unfortunely everything i tried cannot solve the problem.i feel like i threw 800 usd into trash bin
its really a shame.i have nothing more to say
Hi again.I updated my radio rom to 1.58.25.14 but i still have the same problem.any ideas?

man they work fast over there. less then a week for the repair, not bad.
I’m rooted using qkster’s Heimdal 2.3.6 for almost a year... very few problems.
Lately I have a problem that occurs intermittently upon reboot.
1 – It shows a grey SIM card icon near upper right (not the blue sd scanning that always happens)
2 – Cannot make or receive calls, get message “not registered on network”.
3 - Can't use SMS or data
The only way to fix it is to reboot. Some reboots are successful, some not.
If successful, works fine until next reboot.
If not successful, doesn't work at all until next reboot.
The behavior only changes during reboot.. I guess maybe that’s when SIM card info gets red into memory?
I tried removing/reinstalling SIM card. Pressing on it during boot (other phones apparenlty have looseness of SIM card)..no change.
When the problem was really bad (9 out of 10 reboots come up bad), I swapped SIM cards with my daughter. **The problem followed the SIM card*.... Two successful reboots on my phone with her SIM card, Two unsuccessful reboots on her phone with my SIM card. Swapped my SIM card back into my phone and again unsuccessful reboots 9 times out of 10.
I called AT&T, they said go to their store and they’ll give me a new SIM card for free (which I’m planning on Friday)
To me, “intermittent” SIM card is a satisfying answer. It doesn't seem that software problem would create intermittent behavior like this. I haven’t really tried flashing new modem or playing wiht IMEI recovery stuff. ... I’m not tremendously familiar with those and don’t want to mess anything up when I have a success path to just swap SIM cards.
At this point I'm just curious and hoping to go into AT&T armed with more info.
Do you think is't a bad SIM card? Or is it instead maybe something simpler that could have been fixed without swappig SIM card?
And did my rooting the phone or other activities contribute to it?

you can try flashing a cwm-modem and then retry
you can try flashing one of zen's new kernel and retry
a factory reset and odin or heimdall back to stock and check for problems
sometimes it's the software corruption that reports the sim as invalid

Thanks qkster.
I'm thinking it must be the SIM because the problem followed the SIM to another phone and back.
I'm just not sure exactly what exactly is stored on the SIM and whether it could have been corrupted by my phone's actitivies and whether it's fixiable without SIM resplacement.
Again, just curiosity.

Np..sry I didn't notice that you had use the same sim and got the same problems on a different phone.
resolved
UPDATE - I went to AT&T today – new SIM card, phone works fine on three-in-a-row reboots. That seems to confirm bad SIM was the problem, although I don’t know why... seems like an uncomon problem for Infuse.
I asked the rep what might be the cause, he said it just happens every once in awhile.
It took me awhile to figure out.
Googling the error “not registered on network” gave nothing on Infuse forums (apparently it’s not a common failure... I’m just lucky).
Google search on that error led to lots of other devices including lots of HTC phones that had problems with the holder that could be corrected by inserting paper or tape as a wedge to put pressure on the SIM card. I actually seemed to have success with that once (because the problem was intermittent), so that kept me on that wrong track longer than I should have been.
Anyway, it’s here now for posterity for whatever future Infuser searches “not registered on network” and pretty straightforward in retrosepct. The key test to confirm of course is swapping SIM to another phone.

Which is why you shouldn't purchase a non compatible phone, for use in another area?
This is why you shouldn't buy this phone from the scalpers. The chinese version does not support many of the worldwide bands that the "global" version of the phone does. My advice would be to try to sell it to someone who can use it and sign up on the OnePlus forums and wait for an invite for the CM version which supports the bands you need.
Get a new sim, sounds like an old sim that doesn't have the updated CellID info in it.
I had to change my 3 sim when I had my SGS4 as it wouldn't register because it was too old.

I had that happen to me on the interational one and felt quite dumb afterwards...
Make sure the SIM card tray is rotated DOWN so that the contacts on the sim card look to the back of the phone.
It will fit both ways (imho a very strange design choice) but with a tiny little space left when rotated the wrong way.
In other words: turn the phone on it's screen before inserting the sim card facing you.
I have _NO_ clue why the phone thinks it has a SIM card when obviously it cannot access it...

Guys.. Does any one face this problem..
Occasionally the sim 1 goes out of network with the no sim icon.. And nothing helps airplane mode reboot etc..
The only solution is to re insert the sim every time.. It has become annoying as hell since it occurs almost every other week
>Similarly the second sim too shows disabled even when it's activated.. The reboot solves this issue..
Does anyone face this problem.. Or something is wrong with my phone.
Tap-a-talked from the MOTOG
This happens mostly when a Sim card that has been cut is used (cut from some size to microsim). If you are using such a Sim, these problems are bound to occur if it hasn't been cut properly. The best solution would be to contact your service provider and request a new micro-sim
Sent from my Moto G
I have a micro sim..
Also think logically.. Why would there be a problem if there is proper contact.. Lots of people use cut Sim in other mobile
The cut sim myth is a just a diversion created by Motorola to blame it on their customers.. Instead of fixing the bug..
I think it's a hardware problem.. Hence not fixed even though lots of people have faced this problem
Tap-a-talked from the MOTOG
Why do you insist this is a bug from Motorola?
First rule if you have problem: factory reset/wipe data. Problem still there? Reflash. If problem persists, try using spare SIM card/ask carrier for SIM replacement. Otherwise send in for warranty. I'm just using 1 SIM in my xt1033 cut using SIM card stapler, so far no problem.

This time I will use mdm for a full ROM flash instead of ota

I can confirm that its not because of Cut Sim's
Both of my sims are maunally cut by me & they are doing gud from the day I bought the device.
Try reinstalling the stock firmware.

Not only motorola every mfr require SIMs to be not cut to fit but the proper fit from the get go. Don't blame one company. I know from first hand that SIMs can go bad over time due to atmospheric conditions. After all that are pieces of simple circuitry. Most are not well made either.
I have this problem only in one of my sim cards (both are cuted), I changed the slots of both and in my case i can confirm is a fault on my sim.
Actually, the cut sim issue is not just a diversion, it is probably true. For your information, I'm also using an xt1033 of which 1 sim is cut from mini to micro whereas the other is originally a micro sim which I acquired from my carrier. I've had problems with network more than a couple of times; and guess what? All those problems were with the cut sim.

this only means that you cut them properly I also have a sim that was cut and it sometimes slides out slightly and loose contact, but it has nothing to do with the software or motorola quality...
OP: try fixing the sim in place with a tape and check if the problem persists

ooops I missed it
sim cuts should be perfect or else they will slide out.
I have been using my XT1033 with a cut sim ever since i got it a few months ago and aside from my carrier not getting much reception,i've had no issues.
Hello guys,
Im coming at you for a question which I can't have any answer.
I bought a Note10 Plus in October to somebody on the web, the phone was brand new (on its original sealing and packaging) and working perfectly. I was first on Three network, the phone worked, then I switch on GoMo, working perfectly too. On the 10th of November I traveled to Japan with a local sim card (Docomo) and same, all working. But yesterday, I came back to Ireland where I live, and still as of today, the phone show me 'SIM 2 not allowed'.
The phone is unlocked, I've checked with the Samsung support and they confirmed it (but didn't bring me helpful troubleshooting steps). I've contacted my carrier too who said that there is no issue on my account, and they will send me a new sim card too.
I'm not expecting it to work though, as the SIM card is working on the iPhone X of my gf, and her sim card is not working on my phone too. So it's only on my Note 10+.
I've tried to remove the sim and reinsert it, restart it, reset network settings, check the date and time, nothing to do, all go to the same error.
After making research, I tried to check some IMEI Blacklist check websites, but I don't trust them as I don't know where these infos comes from, but one catch my attention because it told me that the phone was blacklisted : https://www.imeipro.info/
All the others says that the phone is clean. Again, that's why I don't really trust it, and my carrier didn't mention any block. I'm still curious why my phone appear as blacklisted so I send them an email to try to know more.
I receive signal too, but can't send/receive calls or text, and I don't have access to data neither.
So now I have my phone with no any SIM working, and I don;t know what to try to get my phone working again.
I think I've explained all I did today, I don't know what to do more, I don't have any idea of what's going on with the phone, that's why I need your light to see if you can help me to find a way.
Thank you guys, I hope to hear from you soon!
From the sounds of it, it sounds like it's been blacklisted, that's my guess. Do you get any message when you insert the sim? I had a similar thing happen to me, turned out the guy I bought the phone off on Ebay didn't pay he's bill and phone wouldn't text or make calls anymore. O2 was the company that barred the phone, and they couldn't help me even though I had proof I'd purchased the phone from the guy, only he could sort it out as it was he's account. Anyway thankfully PayPal came to my rescue, they just needed proof it was blacklisted, carphonewarehouse did a check and printed out the results for me thankfully as I knew the guy that worked there. I got a refund and promised myself I'd never buy a phone off Ebay from a personal seller, if its a business account then maybe. Awful experience though. I hope you get this sorted.
I'm guessing you've never rooted the phone or flashed it as that can sometimes delete the efs folder which causes the phone to have no imei.
Thanks for your answer !
No usually I root all my phones but this time I wanted to keep it as normal, because tthe phone looks like there's nothing more to improve to me (except a little bbit the camera when the light is low..)
I didn't knew that it could cause such things ! I should have done that
Honestly that was the first time I bought the phone to somebody, and more of that, the phone was sealed on the original plastic with the label ''eu sim card only''. So I was trusting it, even if I know, that doesn't mean it's safe behind that.
Since I've posted the message, I contacted few carriers, like mine GoMo, and they dont know anything about the blacklisting (I was surprised) then I contacted Three, they told me that the device does not belomg to the; so they can't check.
I tried Eir, and they refused to give me infos for data protections, which I think is stupid because the phone is not a personal information who could reveal an identity but anyway. I didn't though about Carephonewarehouse, I will visit them because it seems like this is the best idea.
The weird thing to me is still that it didnt worked suddenly... I was in the flight and this is when I came back that it didn't worked. Well, maybe that was a bad hazard.
Something I've discovered yesterday more of that is when I have this issue, turning off the 4G and only allowing 3G/2G will allow me to use the data. Still no phone or text, but the phone is detecting the H+ signal and I'm free to go on the web.
Yes for your question, the issue happened instantly when I insert the card on the SIM1 with the error SIM not allowed, the SIM 2 slot works perfectly, that's what I'm using for the moment but I can't use any SD card at the same time, so it bother me. :/
Thanks for sharing your experience, then I know a little bit fore of what to do. I wanted to go to the police but I don't want to spend 2 hours there. Maybe I'll think of it as a last resort...

I just came from Japan as well I had the same problem but with my Sony Xperia 1.
I bought it from the states and I took vacation to Japan and used their sim card.
When I came back here in Florida I switched back to my at&t sim card I couldn't make calls or texts only data works for some reason I tried everything I used sim card on other phones (sim card is fine)
I tried everything, nothing worked !
I factory reset the phone and it worked, fixed the problem (it's strange because I used Galaxy s8 also with that sim card and it's working fine)
My Sony Xperia 1 had similar problem to yours
I don't know if this will help you to be honest but I had kinda same problem.
Hope you solved you issue.

Thank you for that, I've tried this yesterday after a backup, I used the sim card with the phone completly as new (well, I've restored it from the settings, so I don't know if it was the good way) and it didn't worked.
I think I will try carephone warehouse as jadaress1 requested, it might give me lot of infos there. Im also starting thinking that the phone is carrier blocked, but I can't see any reason why the phone was new and already unlocked so I don't see any reasons...
I'll let you know
