How do I disable apps that launch on startup? - General Questions and Answers

Also, is it still advisable to do so? Or would I be better off just leaving my phone as it is?

General you can disable apps in settings - apps - click on app - disable. But it depends on which android version you are. Disabling apps can help a lot to improve battery life! Which one do you want to disable?

Autostarts Alternative or Working Version

I used to use Autostarts to stop apps from starting in the background. The current version seems to not work on 5.1.1 or newer. Do others have the same issues? Any alternatives that'll peple have used with success.
Anyone have any suggestions. Any xposed modules that do the same?

Greenify only closes apps it doesn't have the ability to disable the services that start the app up. Am I missing something or does purify only have one choice to purify eveything it deems needs work? Thanks for suggestions

u better use amplify.
Greenify has wakelock cut system too
or use bootmanager to control which will boot on start
Boot manager is great but it doesn't stop most apps from being triggered by other services un android.

App not closing when lock screen

I only have allowed whatsapp, weather, and wunderlist app to run when screen is locked and i noticed for example when i run Instagram and i lock my screen the app still running for hours.....
The only way to close apps not allowed to run is to clean all apps under the "recent apps menu".
This does not happen in p9 lite for example, without need to clean the recent apps tab, when I turned off the screen all the apps not allowed closed completely
Is this a bug or its normal?
use greenify could be a wake lock
When you close an app, it's important to use the back button rather than the home button.
go developers settings and change background process to minimum might help you out to get less apps running into the background
but just for info . its healthy to keep apps running in background even if it taking ram it will stabilize your multitasking ! .
GD Luck .

I'm having the same problem. It's a shame that so many members chimed in with no solution but instead tell you that having apps running in the background is best. The fact is, this is a feature that can be configured on the Honor 8 but it currently isn't working whereas it used to work. I don't want to keep apps like browser, games, moviepass, or apps that I don't care about notifications anyway such as Snapchat. All I want is to just lock my phone and have comfort knowing that all the apps I wanted closed will be closed.
So the question remains, has anyone found a solution for this? Is this just a problem with conflicting settings configurations? If you don't have a solution, please don't respond.

L Speed Feature Suggestions

This is L Speed's suggestions thread.
You can suggest/request features for the app, and it might get approved.
Just tag Paget96 in your comment.
The "fake" dynamic f-sync from within the application, similar to the aggressive doze feature in how it works. @Paget96 knows what I'm talking about !

What if battery profile for hotplug gov in gov tuner is set like this
Down differential 5
Up threshold 95
I follow the tutorial for my device from here & it perhaps suitable for most device
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/ref-kernel-governors-modules-o-t1369817
I have tried it, device is cooler & could save more battery especially with small number on down differential. With smaller number cpu freq will go down faster ?

Add option to exclude apps from clearing cache is my suggestions.
I want to clear cache except NFS: No Limits that store game assets in cache partition
Developers that make the game store the cache in cache partition, don't know how to make proper OBB or store cache in /sdcard0/Android/data

That's a pretty good suggestion, hope he'll implement it
I have more suggestions.
Auto trim, with options to change Trim Time, Trim Frequency, and Trim Notification. I have older low-end tablets that require trimming often because they slow down after 1-2 days deep sleep. The kernel in my tablets are not well optimized.
Disable apps startup. It is very useful because some apps auto start and running in background and draining battery and transmit some data. I don't use Facebook and other heavy battery drain apps but it is annoying that some browsers auto start and running in background. Right now i'm using a cleaner app that have option to disable apps from startup

You'd need ADB for that, well actually you can use root. I've been using "App Ops" but yeah, that'll be cool to have in L Speed (^^)!

I got these links from someone here but forgot the name. He/she said that mtk mostly may come with these

i am quite a noob but im am sure that MOST rom already include this feature. am i wrong?
in miui like other roms...there are options to disable specific apps from starting themselves...... i think that L speed app should never become an oversized all in 1 app........ there are other apps for battery life that works differently.
however i still have to understand well how precisely this app works.... could someone say me what are the PRECISE POINTS where Lspeed make a tweak?
i think:
1) build.prop
2)scripts at startup that modify/optimize the governors
3) ??
4)????

I don't use a kernel with EAS, but there are more and more kernel with it

That's probably from 360 security or cleanmaster, before you say it, I understand that when you first installed 360 or Cleanmaster, it didn't change your lockscreen, but it may have updated the app and the lockscreen was part of the updated app. Remove 360 security and Cleanmaster anyway because "security" apps are all useless junk anyway, viruses don't exist in android the way that the app makers would have you believe. These crappy security apps and optimizers are all junk that only drain your battery and slow the device down, they are not actually beneficial, they do more harm than good. BTW, when you're on the web and you get pages that say you have a virus and prompts to install one of these security apps, you don't actually have a virus, they just want you to install their free app so they can make money on the ads that come with them.
You have several "security" apps and you don't really "need" any of them. Android works by permissions, nothing can attack or invade your device unless you give it permission to, whether you realize it or not (such as clicking links or opening MMS pics or opening email attachments). Being a wise user and only opening things you know are safe is all you really need.
