The "fake" dynamic f-sync from within the application, similar to the aggressive doze feature in how it works. @Paget96 knows what I'm talking about !

Yeah, i know, we already had a little discussion.
What if battery profile for hotplug gov in gov tuner is set like this
Down differential 5
Up threshold 95
I follow the tutorial for my device from here & it perhaps suitable for most device
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/ref-kernel-governors-modules-o-t1369817
I have tried it, device is cooler & could save more battery especially with small number on down differential. With smaller number cpu freq will go down faster ?

Add option to exclude apps from clearing cache is my suggestions.
I want to clear cache except NFS: No Limits that store game assets in cache partition
Developers that make the game store the cache in cache partition, don't know how to make proper OBB or store cache in /sdcard0/Android/data

That's a pretty good suggestion, hope he'll implement it
I have more suggestions.
Auto trim, with options to change Trim Time, Trim Frequency, and Trim Notification. I have older low-end tablets that require trimming often because they slow down after 1-2 days deep sleep. The kernel in my tablets are not well optimized.
Disable apps startup. It is very useful because some apps auto start and running in background and draining battery and transmit some data. I don't use Facebook and other heavy battery drain apps but it is annoying that some browsers auto start and running in background. Right now i'm using a cleaner app that have option to disable apps from startup

i am quite a noob but im am sure that MOST rom already include this feature. am i wrong?
in miui like other roms...there are options to disable specific apps from starting themselves...... i think that L speed app should never become an oversized all in 1 app........ there are other apps for battery life that works differently.
however i still have to understand well how precisely this app works.... could someone say me what are the PRECISE POINTS where Lspeed make a tweak?
i think:
1) build.prop
2)scripts at startup that modify/optimize the governors
3) ??
4)????

Ok, so, on my LG Vortex (rooted) its getting to the point I can't even play angry birds, too laggy. I'm poor, try to save money whenever possible, so I got a free overclock app that looked promising, and wasn't a demo/trial.
Market Link
It works great, however, just setting the clock speed up one level, my phone's getting really warm, and its unnerving me. I'd rather not have to replace it. Thing is tho, I've changed a lot of options, trying to find a good balance, but its been a few days so I don't exactly remember what the defaults were. So, my question is, if I delete the app, will it reset my CPU MHz? And if not, how would i set it back to normal?
Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
Everything should get set back to defaults if you uninstall the app. Another way would be to go to settings->applications->manage applications->overclockwidget->clear cache and data->reboot.
If you want to try a different free app to adjust the cpu speed, there's CPUBoostLite which has a widget which shows the cpu speed and battery temp. Another would be No-Frills CPU Control but does not show the batt temp. An app like Battery Monitor Widget can though along with the battery's current(mA) draw.

If the app achieved the overclock by altering a system file, uninstalling the app will not change anything.
File changes made by an application will not get reverted on their uninstallation.
The app doesn't have a revert function?

If the cpu speed isn't getting "set on boot" then each reboot will restore to default values. If it is, then either uninstalling or clearing the app's data will prevent that from occurring. The kernel/ramdisk(boot.img) resets the cpu to whatever is set as the default which is why apps like setcpu or cm7 cpu controls use the "set on boot" option to retain settings through a reboot.
Off-topic but your SD Maid app is great Dark3n. Been using it for a while now with the unlocker.
I had set on reboot checked for a while, but not anymore. Would that change anything?

That option, if checked, just makes it so whatever values you set survive through a reboot. Basically used once a good set up is found so you won't have to redo it each time. However, with it set you run the risk of getting into a bootloop if you overclock too much as you wouldn't be able to lower it. So always make sure the phone is stable before having the changes set on boot.

I thought about it like changing density in the build.prop, is this not possible with clock speed?

The settings to change are located in:
Code:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/
The familiar ones are scaling_max_freq, scaling_min_freq, scaling_governor, or governor specific setting in a directory named after the governor(i.e. ondemand/up_threshold)
so, wipe app data, uninstall, and reboot, and i'll be good to go? or is there a step i'm missing?

You only really need to either uninstall it or wipe it's data to get back to defaults. Uninstalling is probably the simplest and most effective and you can always install it back on or another app to play with over/underclocking.
Thanks guys, you rock. For future reference, what would you guys say the best paid and best free overclock apps are?

Someone else will have to chime in since these days I just use cyanogenmod's built-in cpu settings. I suspect most would recommend setCPU(Paid)...it's certainly the most popular. As far as a free app, I'd personally try No-frills CPU Control. People seem to like it and it has a nice safety feature of auto-disabling set on boot if the phone doesn't shut down properly(ie crashes).
I'd have CM7 if my Vortex were supported. >_>
Thanks for the suggestions, I thanked the best posts.
And I'll let you know how everything worked out after i use it for a day or two.
How do I check the CPU Temp on the tf? I tried d/l a few apps but none of them seem to work or compatible. Any suggestion?
Get a app fron Antutu called CPU MASTER. This is an app that allows for overclocking and such.....if you do not have an overclocking kernel....DO NOT USE IT!!!
However it comes with a nice little widget that will display your temp, battery life and other stuff. You can use that.
If you do decide to use an overclocking kernel just go to this thread.

Why shouldn't you use it with a stock kernel?
The kernel is what controls the possible speeds, not the app. The app is just an interface to allow the user to set what the kernel has already provisioned.

I know that but there is always a possibility that if a setting was activated higher than his stock kernel allows it COULD cause trouble.
It is a "Just in case" scenario.

You don't understand what I am saying.
The kernel controls things like clock speed, voltage, yadda yadda, etc. This app just interfaces with these kernel settings to allow the user to select them.
Try it for yourself. You will see that it only lets you select up to 1Ghz with the stock kernel. It's actually kind of nice for people with the stock kernel because it allows you to _underclock_ your device if you want.

Ok, sorry. I don't mean to be rude but you're wrong and telling someone wrong information.
Try it for yourself and you'll see that you can't change anything the kernel doesn't allow.
Plenty of people use the OC apps like this one (or SetCPU) to underclock their device or add speed profiles for certain situations.

it's the battery temp, not cpu. i couldn't find any app or widget to see my cpu temp.
cat /sys/devices/platform/tegra-i2c.3/i2c-4/4-004c/ext_temperature
I wrote a script to display many other things (batt temp and current CPU mv) ... but that is the CPU temp. There is also
cat /sys/devices/platform/tegra-i2c.3/i2c-4/4-004c/temperature
But the thermal throttling policies refer to ext - and both values are very close to each other. Ext also happens to have more precision (.25 degC as opposed to rounding up or down to the nearest degree). So I look at ext.
echo -e "\033[0m Your CPU/System temp is: " "\033[1m `cat /sys/devices/platform/tegra-i2c.3/i2c-4/4-004c/ext_temperature`"
Writing this in a 'script', making it executable, and calling it whatever will make it so you do not have to type the long path above.
Thus, in term emulator - it would look like this.
# whatever
Your CPU/System temp is: 40.0
Wow. Fancy.

I don't think so, you can't overclock or underclock if your device kernel doesn't have that features, for battery saver it is depend on your daily use, the kernel, and the typical of ROM

It sounds like a good start. SetCPU have a "if /then" method for this that include apps for conditions, but also battery status and more, with sub conditions.
Being able to forcibly shutdown cores on compatible processor could be nice to. Setting frequencies and governors per core too, when possible.

ok guys will implement these features and try to release the next version as soon as possible.
Any other suggestions ???
ps does anyone here has any idea for a new icon for this app.
Hey guys released the v1.1 of the app with a better user interface
and also wakelock stats for complete changelog check the thread
Galaxy core is a mid-range android device with android 4.1.2....The device doesn't has many features and although the device lags too much!!!!
This thread is created for them who want there galaxy core lag free !!! But you can't make too fast and you can't remove all lag!!! You can use your device smoothly....

2.Stock rom will best for this!!
3.Some apps...Links are below!!
**Go to settings and do the next things**
1.Go to location services and unmark all google data.. {They are useful, So enable them when you need it}
2.Go to developer options and change animator duration scale to 0.5x..
3.Go to display settings and set screen timeout to 15 or 30 seconds...
4.Go to display settings and turn off your soft button light, if you don't need them....
5.Set your brightness low...

Other tips on battery saving and performance
1.Use another launcher. Touchwiz Home is quite laggy and uses alot of resources. Select a new default launcher and freeze Touchwiz using link2sd
(search for it in play store, it requires root)
2. Using link2sd, also freeze weather daemon and widget and yahoo news and widget. You can also freeze the native music player as it also uses alot of resources and use poweramp (for example) instead.
3. Uninstall useless, unused apps. This will save you memory and make your device faster.
4. Wipe Dalvik Cache. Every now and then, whipe your dalvik cache.

I've tried it on my samsung smg350....i've not seen differences, still lagging when i play games :/
(maybe i've reached my limit....flashed upm and blend boosted on it)
Okay the app are indeed working it makes pubg runs faster on loading and gameplay
I'm currently running on miui 10 on redmi note 4
And I already mod every aspect of the phone
The audio , graphics ,UI , kernel
But this...
I don't know how you do it but it works
Before this I was using magisk GPU boost and gltool
Only gltool are working
GPU boost give me black screen
But this is everything I want it to be
Nice app
Ps: please develop the app and make it to magisk module , I'm it's going to be good exposure
hi dhanual,
This app is working fine, it gives smooth gameplay & fast on 2gb ram device, but when i play pubg game continously 1-2 hours my gameplay again gots laggy any solution for this, i think might be the reason for the cache of game. After exit the game, clean master found 1-1.5 gb cache & cleaned. I'm on Resurrection Remix Oreo 8.1 device model Nubia Z9 Mini
Plz continue the app development process.

Hi, thank you for your time making this and posting it. Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to help me. Tried it only on asphalt 9 so far, it lags more than before and in the end game also crashed which didnt happen before. I had already boosting apps so i guess the benefits of the others got neglected or so, but anyways seems it has room for improvement. I will try it tho in other games too and post it if i find a before/after difference
