Goodmorning from Greece and a happy new year for all of u (except me )..My s100 fall out of my jean in water for 5 minutes when it was on..I took it turn it off by removing its battery and from its sd slot the water run away!!..I open it carefully removing its back cover with camera etc and clean it with a toothbrush and some alcohol..Then i put it all back and powered on the phone..The screen gone in calibration mode but i had problems with power..When i take off the battery to insert my sim card the phone want boot up..Without sim card the screen looks great and the hard reset works great to but the problem with the power issue was urgent..So i took my phone at my friends nokia club and then we take out all the parts of the phone and did a proffecional ceaning with all this oil staff as that nokia does..After i put all the parts back on the phone the power issue was solved but i had another serious issue..The screen shows nothing!!!it has no power at all...I open it again (i am expert after all this) and take a look at screen cable tape witch goes on the phone "motherboard"..It was ok..When i power on my phone it sounds like goes to calibration screen after a hard reset..Also i have done flashing via qtek last rom but the problem exists..The screen shows nothing..No graphics no white light...nothing..Is the screen cable tape so sensitive by the all procedure??..Is there sth else i can do??Of course after the water the phone has no quarantee so if i send it to qtek service i think they gonna ask me a lot of money..Any idea??...Sorry for my big topic and for my bad english...Thanks a lot :?:
Sorry to hear your Magician has gone bad...
Of course you can buy a replacement screen, but it's rather expensive and a true heartbreaker if it still doesn't work. I think your best bet is to take it to a professional and have it checked out. Only then will you find out what has happened and how expensive it will be.
Normally, if you drop your phone in water, you should just pull the battery right away and let the phone dry in room temperature for at least 24 hours, before trying to power it up again. Be careful of hairdriers and radiators, which might turn a bad thing worse. Don't ever try to disassemble until you know for a fact that it is the last option.
Thanks for your responce..i think i should sent the phone to qtek service centre....
Hi. Not sure if this has been covered before (did search the forum and also google but couldn't see anything about it). If you end up with an S710 / Vox that exhibits the following problem:
Press Power button - Green light illuminates for approx 1 sec then extinguishes, no boot
But you can still access the tri-colour bootloader using Power & Camera button.
Simply open then close the SIM door. And voila! All working again! This has been driving me nuts - I bought four phones off ebay - replaced their broken screens and all exhibited the same problem - wouldn't turn on. It appears HTC have a switch on the SIM card door such that the phone will power off if the door is opened whilst the phone is on. In the process of dismantling the phone, sometimes this switch mechanism doesn't work properly, preventing the phone from turning on.... Wiggling the SIM cover after re-assembly fixes it.
Sorry if this is going over old ground, but thought it might be of help to some people.

When reassembling the upper part of the device you must make sure that the SIM door actually fits to the switch correctly. Best is to have the door open when putting the parts together and then close the door.
I have taken apart and swapped LCD several times and NEVER had the problem you describe - but its true: the device won't boot when the SIM door is considered open.
Obviously this ONLY happens when someone has taken apart the device (either you or the previous owner) and is usually NOT a solution for those that "suddenly" see the LCD "dead" - which often is linked to the flex-cable connection between the two parts of the device.
man really thank you!

i have lumia 720 as back up phone but i pref my xperia i have had the phone for 2-3 years never had an issue with it but just a weak ago my wi-fi wouldn"t turn on so i took it too local phone fixer guy since there is no sony office or anything in my country and he shut the whole phone down by disconnecting it from battery turned it on again and it worked but blue screen of death started after that
please if you have any ideas as to how to fix it help
(and sry for my bad English)
My LG G4 AT&T switched itself off yesterday suddenly , after that it turned back on normally. But after some time it happened again and when I try to switch it back on it tries to boot but after LG logo , sometimes at LG logo it gets heated up and gets turned off. It gets heated up near camera area, I reset my phone . Last night I left my phone charging and today it turned back on for some time. When I turned it off to insert sim and memory card , it didn't get turned on. As it is an emergency and currently I cant get my phone to any shop , can anyone suggest me a way to fix this , given my zero experience with hardware and some with software. Sorry if my english is bad . Thanks .

It's either battery or hardware failure. Hate to give bad news but hardware failure with the G4 is extremely common. Only fix is a board replacement. Others have been able to temp revive them by placing them in an oven etc but that's not recommended.

First of all thanks , I was freaking out . So what would have you done if it would have happened to you? Given I can't take this phone to a repair shop , as I fried up my second LG G4 , first one was Verizon ( Leave that part ) and my parents are gonna kill me when they find out . So should I even bother buying another battery and try inserting it into my phone and check ? or it will not be helpful ? What should I do ?
Did I say thanks ?

Your very welcome. You could try another battery. But if you just Google LG G4 bootloop you'll see it's a huge issue LG will warranty it as long as there's no damage.

I bought it off some ebay seller , so I guess there's no warranty for it . I live in India and its an imported version and there's no AT&T service centers here and neither LG Service centers will lay their hands on it . So if its the case with hardware failure , I guess I should buy a board and get it replaced . I think first I am going to try replacing battery , if it works out then great else I guess I will be in huge problem . Appreciate the help.!
Hi guys,
I'm looking for some help and advice ! Long story short (will try), I purchased a used z5 with a display/screen issue (I guess).
The first owner told me he dropped the phone and that screen was cracked and not working anymore, so he brought it to the repair store... they replaced the screen with a new one, but they told him that the new screen was broken / dead on arrival, and that they would order a new one to replace it again. The guy couldn't wait another month to get is phone back working again, so he quit with the phone like that and purchased a used samsung.
I purchased the standard sony z5 from him. The screen have color lines in it... sometimes purple lines on the left of the screen, all from top to bottom, sometimes it's different (like right now it's alonost all white), but it is not working at all - I don't see anything useful on the screen.
The phone seems to be working though because the flash/photo work with the lower button on the left side... there is an alarm after midnight on it (I wake up like an idiot the first time it came up, trying to stop the alarm, but fingerprint is not mine and screen is not working... I was at the hotel, and damn it was loud... I think it waked up everyone in the other rooms around me before stopping it with power/fingerprint + volume up ;p)
So, I'm wondering if there's only the screen to replace again (with a good one), or if it's worst...
Does anyone know about that kind of issue, and which kind of screen would you put on it ? I want to put a good quality one to use the phone after that.
Thanks in advance for any help and advices !
