Honor 6 C [DIG-L21HN] How to root ? - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I've unlocked the bootloader of my phone but I can't find any recoveries to push through ADB, therefore I can't flash SU. Does someone have a solution ?
Allright, for the newcomers, I've found a solution for this : (it is very important that you don't update your rom if you've rooted your phone, unless you want a 150$ brick I guess !)
Don't forget to install adb before anything
1. Enable USB debugging in developers option.
2. Connect your phone to a computer and then launch cmd. Type «adb reboot fasboot».
3. Once in fastboot mode we will flash TWRP by typing this : «fastboot flash recovery 1streco.img».
4. Unplug and reboot your device, on the nag screen keep pressing the up volume button to enter recovery. If it doesn't work then choose shutdown and hit all three buttons while it's booting.
5. Once you are in TWRP, backup everything to extsdcard.
6. Go to wipe and format /data and wipe it under advanced wipe. DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER PARTITION !!! ONLY DATA.
7. Once it's done reboot the device. You should have a message telling you that the encryption failed, click reset phone.
8. It should launch TWRP choose reboot to bootloader.
9. Once in fastboot mode type this : «fastboot flash recovery 2ndreco.img» then type : «fastboot reboot».
10. Your phone should now display : «Factory reset low level» when you click reset phone. Once it's done it will automatically reboot but don't let it finish his boot sequence yet. On the nag screen keep pressing the up volume to enter recovery and then choose shutdown.
11. Boot in fastboot mode again and type : «fastboot flash recovery 1streco.img», then : «fastboot reboot».
Hold the vol.up button while on nag screen to enter TWRP.
If you don't enter TWRP after you typed fastboot reboot and hit the vol.up button but you enter erecovery that's ok, in this case what you need to do is to choose shutdown. Then hold vol.up, vol.down and power buttons to enter TWRP ! Go to install and flash magiskv13.3.zip and voilà your phone is now rooted !
I've not tried but I think you could restore the data partition with TWRP once you've done all those steps but I can't guarantee you anything so this is why I've told you to backup your data.

Si I've been able to install twrp but when I try to flash SuperSu.zip it doesn't work. It's crazy !

For those who wants to know, I've tried everything and the only way to go is to format and wipe data in order to disable dm-verity. But if you do that you won't be able to go further because the rom asks you to crypt your datas before continuing....

Here's the solution
Hi guys ! Sorry for the wait but here it is, my tutorial to the graal, root on this device :
1. Enable USB debugging in developers option.
2. Connect your phone to a computer and then launch cmd. Type «adb reboot fasboot».
3. Once in fastboot mode we will flash TWRP by typing this : «fastboot flash recovery 1streco.img».

Can you tell us a little more about these two files? Where have you found them? (Not wanting to sound too paranoid but you know...)

I've found 1streco.img on a Chinese board. It's the work of a guy who managed to make TWRP available to us, users of honor 6c. The second one is the standard recovery image of Honor 6c. Those files are good, don't worry. Once your phone is rooted and everything works good, you can of course update magisk through TWRP to the lastest version.

OK, I have been trying around now for an hour or so... I have one real problem and one possible problem:
1. (the real one) Using Win7 64 bit, each time I send the the phone into fastboot mode, the system tries to install "MTP USB device" drivers... without any success so far. That's why the phone boots normally again. I haven't been able to solve that so far (installed HiSuite for example, didn't help).
2. (the possible one) Should the bootloader be unlocked? If yes, I have to admit I haven't found a way to do that so far. :-/

Of course the bootloader must be unlocked before doing anything, you can request a code here on Huawei website : http://en.ui.vmall.com/plugin.php?id=unlock

bravo there is machine back or full backup with recovery

Did you manage to root your phone ?

beautiful, can you install a module on magisk? if yes how because when installing the modules I get a failure when editing magisk.img thanks ?

No, you can't because of dm-verity, you.can manually install via recovery tho.

For the Russian version 6s failed to implant. ADB reboot fastboot this command does not put the phone in fastboot mode.

oh now I got it, i think you go in the boot menu, all mediateks have that in Chinese
To get into recovery you must press up volume and then hold it along with pressing the power button,
Y6 after a few seconds turn;s on and you then have to chose which mode to go. Up volume to change selection and down volume to select, recovery mode obviously

---------- Post added at 05:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:58 PM ----------
So for new guys in this i skipped very important step when flashed twrp:
Do not run system , but to bootloader first , accept modifications and whoala...
thx @chillo for responding quickly
BTW The dying android means no custom recovery is installed for Y6 , no fastboot command whatsoever
And yes, Y6 and most new android phones from Marshmallow and newer *(edit: ) stock ROMs, don't like to mess with their system partition, one should select system as read-only
Glad you made it through and learned a bit of it
Bootloop
It appears I've soft-bricked my Y6.
I've installed TWRP 3.03 as above and can boot into it but when I try to do a normal reboot I'm stuck in a boot loop.
How do I get to this stage - "Do not run system , but to bootloader first , accept modifications and whoala..." Is that when you first run TWRP?
In the Mount section of TWRP "System" is not ticked but the button "Mount as readonly" is.
If I select Fastboot it hangs. Normal boot hangs. Boot into Recovery is fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Y6 Max:*install recovery with fastboot in Ubuntu Linux
Hello,
thank you for this very useful thread. Just want to add some information on installing the recovery image on the Doogee Y6 Max via fastboot in Ubuntu Linux
I've followed this instructions with some minor (but important)*changes.
First useful information:*to enter in the fastboot mode of the Y6 max do the follow:
- power off your phone
- push togheter Volume up and Power button
now you will see a menu with three options. Move the arrow with Volume up and select "fastboot". Then press Volume down.
You are now in fastboot mode.
Connect your phone via USB to the computer.
Open a terminal and:
- unlock OEM as described in the tutorial linked above.
- install your recovery.img as described in the tutorial linked above
- re-lock the OEM with this command:
Code:
sudo fastboot oem lock
otherwise your phone won't boot.
Then power off your phone and enter in the menu described above pressing toghether Volume up and Power.
Now select "Recovery" and you are done.
Hi! I did everything like in the tutorial but phone is stuck in bootloop after flashing supersu from sd card. Any advices?
I tried 3.0.3 twrp and newest supersu. Phone turned on but there is not root, also there were no errors during instalation.

[GUIDE] Revert to EUI from JUI - Cool Changer S1

If like me you have installed JUI via Fastboot but you have realized that has several problems such as: CPU 1.6GHz, Infrared disabled, touch screen in some games laggy and Google Chrome crashes, today we're going to reinstall the EUI of GrossoShop with TWRP Recovery.
WARNING: I and the forum are not responsible for any damage that you will find in your device, as always i have tested this guide found on 4PDA (Russian forum similar to XDA) then translated into English. This guide has been tested on the 6GB RAM variant, I do not know if the 4GB version works perfectly.
NOTE: All files can be found at the bottom of the thread!
REQUIREMENTS:
Device with JUI ROM installed
PC
USB cable
Follow the guide carefully
STEP 1: TWRP 3.1.1.0 Installation
1) First of all we must install the Recovery TWRP then download the ZIP file containing the TWRP 3.1.1.0
2) Unpack the file where you want, and open the CMD in the folder
3) Check in the device if in the settings the OEM unlocking is activated, then go to Settings > device information and press 5 times on Number Build, now go in the Developer Options and check if the option is activated
4) Now turn off the device and restart it in Fastboot Mode, to start the device in Fastboot Mode press the power button + volume key down after connect the device to the PC
5) If you are on Windows 7 most likely the device will be recognized while if you are on Windows 10 the device will not be recognized so we have to install the drivers manually, so you have to hold down the power button until it shuts down and start the system normally. As you will see on the PC you will open a unit containing a setup to install, install the setup (the device must always be connected to the PC). Now restart the device in Fastboot Mode power button + volume key down and connect it to the PC. Now if you open the control panel and go to device management the device is not recognized, so we have to install manually the drivers, then right click on the unknown device - properties - driver - update driver - look for the driver software in the computer - browse ... now you have to go to C:\Program Files (x86) and choose the yulong folder. Well now the drivers are installed correctly.
6) Now we can install the TWRP Recovery, so let's go back to the previously opened CMD and type these commands in sequence
Code:
fastboot oem unlock-go
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Now the device will be restarted in Recovery Mode and you will see the TWRP 3.1.1.0 installed to change the language press the right button and make a swipe to confirm.
STEP 2: Revert to EUI (change Bootloader and EUI Installation)
7) At this point we have to do a conversion of the bootloader, but first we have to do a Factory Reset and then we will lose all the data like photos, music, etc., then save the important data in your PC and continue with the guide, now from Recovery go on Wipe, click on Format Data and type Yes to confirm, at the first attempt the recovery can give you some errors written in red, do not panic return to the home of the recovery go to Reboot and select Recovery. Once back in the Recovery we make Format Data again and this time it should work without problems. Once you've done this, let's go on Wipe again, go to Advanced Wipe and select: Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache and do a swipe to confirm.
8) Once the device is completely cleaned, download the conversion file (that you find at the bottom of the thread) and copy it to the device from recovery, after we go to Install, select the zip file and do a swipe to confirm, it will take a while of time do not worry. Once finished go on Reboot and select System, most likely the device will not start you will always see the Coolpad logo do not panic, force the shutdown by holding down the power button and restart it in recovery mode by holding down the power button + volume key up. Now we have to do an advanced cleaning so go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe, select Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, Cache and do a swipe to confirm. Now copy the GrossoShop ROM in your device, go to Install select the ZIP file and do a swipe to confirm, wait for the ROM to be installed, after go to Reboot and press on System.
Perfect! We brought our Cool Changer S1 back to original ROM!

[FINAL][RECOVERY][Z010D]ASUS Zenfone Max ZC550KL Marshmallow

Introduction
I've been researching on how to install TWRP on Zenfone Max with Final Marshmallow update for a long time, and finally found and gathered information on how to do so without any consequences. So if you're on final Marshmallow update and want to install TWRP on your phone, then this guide is for you! P.S. This is for Z010D only.
How To Install TWRP
1. Download this APK on your phone to unlock your bootloader : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-0qEY9zypslUTFKRE5CQUU5OFk
The app says it will wipe all data, but with my experience it doesn't wipe any data at all. However, I still recommend you to take a backup.
2. Download this zip to your computer and extract it : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2kFletApi72QkRLZnFURDUyZk0/view
3. Download this TWRP 3.2.3-0 image : https://sourceforge.net/projects/an...covery/TWRP-3.2.3-Z010D-20180729.img/download
4. Merge the TWRP 3.2.3 image to the extracted zip
5. Make sure you have USB Debugging on and put your phone into Fastboot mode [Hold Volume Up + Power] and connect it to the computer
6. In the extracted zip folder search bar, type 'cmd' and press Enter
7. Type 'fastboot devices' and press Enter, to see if your phone is detected
8. Type 'fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.2.3-Z010D-20180729.img' and press Enter
9. Disconnect the phone and Hold 'Volume Down + Power', when you see the ASUS logo let go the Power, but keep holding Volume Down until you see the TWRP logo
Congratulations, you've successfully installed TWRP!

Yes, but some comments have issues where will it work with different versions (or updates), as the last update ASUS pushed was around Dec 17/Jan 18 with November 2017 security patch, some of the guides I've tried have failed, or had some issues. Also, some guides tell you to downgrade to marshmallow beta. Anyways, I just thought to do a final guide to root. ?

Obviously, you need an unlocked bootloader to do any modifications! The only issue is, Asus phones don't show whether you have an unlocked bootloader or not. Sometimes the bootloader unlocker fails.

Thank you !
go to settings and enable developer options, then go to developer options / enable usb debugging and enable oem unlock
then on pc if you have adb and fastboot installed then type adb reboot bootloader
then once the tablet is in fastboot type fastboot oem unlock-go to unlock the bootloader
TWRP 3.3.1-0 TB-X605F Lenovo Smart Tab M10
i used the twrp port from stock recovery method here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-porting-twrp-source-t3843473
"warning this will wipe data, bootloader needs to be unlocked, computer has adb and fastboot installed"
1. download twrp from here http://www.mediafire.com/file/tn7csi4gzm91w7v/twrp-3.3.1-0-X605F.img/file
2. then on the tablet go to settings / Developer mode / usb debugging
3. connect the tablet to pc with usb cable then on the tablet you will see usb debugging authorizations, click on allow always to make the device debuggable
4. on pc launch command prompt then type "adb reboot bootloader" to reboot into bootloader
5. once in bootloader type "fastboot flash recovery "the directory of the twrp-recovery.img" once flashed then type "fastboot reboot"
6. once tablet rebooted type "adb reboot recovery" on pc to reboot into recovery, warning you will see /data mounting errors to fix this on the tablet go to wipe / format data and type yes to format data, then go back to main screen then go to reboot / recovery to reboot back into recovery.
7. on pc download dm-verity-forceencryption zip file here http://www.mediafire.com/file/ndhe4ewlzlffdur/Disable-dm-verity-forceencryption.zip/file then on the tablet go to advanced / adb sideload then swipe it, then on pc type "adb sideload the directory where you put the zip file" once flashed then go to the main screen then go to reboot / system to reboot system
then it should boot up.
Working fine from my side
Turbo, many Thanks!
It works perfectly ! ?

Good job, @turboperson123 ! @Monpseud0 pointed me over here.
I've got some time this week & I'm going to start on a version that will handle encryption. You can find the device tree and code here. I've included a link to this thread.
I bricked my device. Rebooting the system from TWRP only gets me back into TWRP.
Am afraid I will have to flash a new rom.
Does anyone know where to download a working rom for TB-X065F
Help much appreciated.

Easiest thing to do is use LMSA. It's available on Lenovo's support page: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/au/en/...r-list/component?name=Software and Utilities.

I can download the ROM through LMSA, but not flash it.
Trying to do so yields a "complete" message from LMSA after only a few seconds, but then rebooting the device only gets me back into TWRP.
I also tried to flash all system_xx.img from the ROM using fastboot flash system system_xx.img ,
and to flash all vendor_xx.img from the ROM using fastboot flash vendor vendor_xx.img.
Fastboot performs this operation, but then rebooting gets me back into TWRP again.
Trying to reboot the system from TWRP yields the message "no system installed"
Help much appreciated.

Tough one! Try this. It will wipe your data partition, though.
If it will let you, power down the tablet for about 10mins. Then boot into TWRP. Go to "Wipe" and swipe for Data/Factory Reset. Reboot.
If the M10 still won't boot, in TWRP re-format Data (by typing 'yes' under Wipe->Format Data), and wipe cache and Dalvik Cache. I think dalvik is under Wipe->Advanced. Factory reset again. Reboot.
As an absolute last resort, you might try fixing permissions in TWRP under "Advanced". But I don't think that's going to do much, because you haven't booted the ROM successfully yet.
Hope one of these works for you. Let us know what worked for you. If nothing works, PM me and we'll try some other things.

I followed the instructions but on the last step of rebooting to system the device restarts, shows the Lenovo logo then it goes to a black / blanks screen. It appears to have shut down. I must hold the power button for several seconds before it wakes up (or restarts?) and does this all over again -- shows the Lenovo logo then black screen.
For the record the device was already rooted with Magisk. I was just trying to do a TWRP backup but found /data mounting errors so tried following steps 6 & 7. At the moment the device refuses to boot up. I am unable to get back into Recovery Mode. The ONLY thing i can do is get into FASTBOOT mode and issue commands from CLI.
The following hardware key combos produce the same results -- tablet turns on to show the Lenovo logo, after a few seconds the screen goes black (the device appears to have turned off):
x Power key
x Power Key + Volume Down
x Power Key + Volume Up
x Power Key + Volume Up + Volume Down
** Release of keys is done once Lenovo logo appears
Any ideas?
UPDATE
I went ahead and performed: fastboot flash boot boot.img << the boot.img was the earlier patched magisk image i used to get the rooted working tablet.
After performing the above the tablet turned on and is now showing the Lenovo logo however it does nothing else --- it remains on the logo forever. I am able to get into TWRP recovery. I went ahead and wiped Dalvik, Cache, and Data. Rebooted to System but still it is stuck on the Lenovo Logo.
The device if fully charged.

You could try recovering the tablet with LMSA. See this post. You'll lose all your existing data and setup on the tablet, though.
Not sure what went wrong for you. Do you have a TB-X605F with Snapdragon 450 SOC? The existing TWRP is only for the SDA450. I'm working on one for the M10s with SDA429.

Thanks for the response. Yes mine has the Snapdragon 450. I will investigate the LMSA. Been messing around all day but made no progress -- not even QPST is working out.

[GUIDE] Unlock bootloader without losing user data.

Hi, I am writing this guide because many people followed other guides in the forum and lost their data. This is the proper way of unlocking the bootloader without losing your data.
0 - Read the whole guide before proceeding and proceed at your own risk!
1 - Make sure you have adb and fastboot installed on your device,
For Windows follow this guide (I suggest installing it system-wide, so that you can execute commands from every directory on your PC): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
For MacOS and Linux : https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
2 - After the required tools are installed go to Settings -> About Phone on your phone and keep tapping on build number until a toast notification tells you that the developer settings are enabled.
3 - Go to Settings -> System -> Developer Settings and enable OEM unlocking option.
4 - Turn off the phone and when it's fully off, hold power + vol down button to boot into fastboot mode. When you've done this step successfully, you will see a blue FASTBOOT text on the screen with a bunny scrambling the internals of Android.
5 - Connect your phone to your PC and open a CLI/terminal/PowerShell window and type this but do NOT hit enter :
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
when you are ready to execute the command, start pressing only vol down button and then hit enter, HOLD vol down until the phone boots into fastboot mode again. This basically tricks the phone to boot into Fastboot mode instead of erase mode. To make sure the phone doesn't boot into erase mode on the next boot you need to do the following:
6 - While in fastboot mode type this into the CLI/terminal/PowerShell window but do NOT hit enter :
Code:
fastboot reboot
when you are ready to execute the command, start pressing only vol down button and then hit enter, HOLD vol down until the phone boots into fastboot mode again.
7 - Now you are ready to boot into your system. Either boot by holding power button or typing
Code:
fastboot reboot
into the terminal and hitting enter.
By rebooting twice, you make sure the phone doesn't boot into erase mode. If you flash the stock ROM beforehand and setup your device (login to Play Store), your device will still be Play Store certified by this method. But if you unlock the bootloader and the phone erases its storage, you won't be able to download apps like Netflix, because your device will not be certified by Play Store, this is because the Play Store checks for unlocked bootloaders. But by making it check the certification while it's locked and then unlocking the bootloader, you can make this issue go away. Feel free to ask for more proper guides for dummies, if you need. I have bricked my device many times and learnt by trial and error, so I'd be happy to make you avoid those same mistakes. Cheers.

It is not necessary, but a preventative measure. I've had instances where I hadn't rebooted twice and the phone booted into erase mode. This is a guide for people who want to make sure they won't lose data.
Another tip:
If you're with stock everything and don't want to loose data, do not boot into recovery mode (power + vol+) as it sometimes try to wipe data without any confirmation. Did happened here once, back in March 2019, but thankfully my pictures and most data are stored in MicroSD card.

Can confirm, if your bootloader is unlocked and you don't have TWRP installed, booting into recovery mode will wipe the device.

It shouldn't ask you to unlock phone or not in fastboot mode, as what I did unlocked mine for months ago. It should return you to fastboot mode in a flash (a fraction of seconds) and manually restart your phone by holding up power button until you'll see unlocked warning and AndroidOne logo.
If it is, try to select "unlock", but your data may wipe afterwards.

You have another device. This is for Mi A2 Lite, not Mi A2. And on top of that, it works for Android Pie. I don't know for stock Android 10 since we (Mi A2 Lite users) don't have it yet (as of my writing).

You can unlock with the same method. But I believe you will flash a zip from TWRP to fix SIM cards and that will break your phone if you lock the bootloader. So after fixing the SIM cards, you need to leave the phone unlocked, otherwise phone will be bricked. If you want to get rid of the ugly splash screen, you can flash a custom splash you can find in the forum.
