oh now I got it, i think you go in the boot menu, all mediateks have that in Chinese
To get into recovery you must press up volume and then hold it along with pressing the power button,
Y6 after a few seconds turn;s on and you then have to chose which mode to go. Up volume to change selection and down volume to select, recovery mode obviously

So for new guys in this i skipped very important step when flashed twrp:
Do not run system , but to bootloader first , accept modifications and whoala...
thx @chillo for responding quickly

BTW The dying android means no custom recovery is installed for Y6 , no fastboot command whatsoever
And yes, Y6 and most new android phones from Marshmallow and newer *(edit: ) stock ROMs, don't like to mess with their system partition, one should select system as read-only
Glad you made it through and learned a bit of it

Bootloop
It appears I've soft-bricked my Y6.
I've installed TWRP 3.03 as above and can boot into it but when I try to do a normal reboot I'm stuck in a boot loop.
How do I get to this stage - "Do not run system , but to bootloader first , accept modifications and whoala..." Is that when you first run TWRP?
In the Mount section of TWRP "System" is not ticked but the button "Mount as readonly" is.
If I select Fastboot it hangs. Normal boot hangs. Boot into Recovery is fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Y6 Max:*install recovery with fastboot in Ubuntu Linux
Hello,
thank you for this very useful thread. Just want to add some information on installing the recovery image on the Doogee Y6 Max via fastboot in Ubuntu Linux
I've followed this instructions with some minor (but important)*changes.
First useful information:*to enter in the fastboot mode of the Y6 max do the follow:
- power off your phone
- push togheter Volume up and Power button
now you will see a menu with three options. Move the arrow with Volume up and select "fastboot". Then press Volume down.
You are now in fastboot mode.
Connect your phone via USB to the computer.
Open a terminal and:
- unlock OEM as described in the tutorial linked above.
- install your recovery.img as described in the tutorial linked above
- re-lock the OEM with this command:
Code:
sudo fastboot oem lock
otherwise your phone won't boot.
Then power off your phone and enter in the menu described above pressing toghether Volume up and Power.
Now select "Recovery" and you are done.

Hi! I did everything like in the tutorial but phone is stuck in bootloop after flashing supersu from sd card. Any advices?
I tried 3.0.3 twrp and newest supersu. Phone turned on but there is not root, also there were no errors during instalation.

Desperate for a Root Method for my P8 Max

Hi all,
Well I love my phone, just love it! BUT having bought it from China, like many I am stuck with the Chinese Model and firmware. Huawei Australia have assisted in unlocking the bootloader, now I am ready to root the phone. BUT, I have not had any luck sourcing a root method for it. Can someone please PLEASE help.
I am desperate as it keeps booting me out of Google Play Services, rendering my Huawei watch useless (ironic huh)
Any help would be appreciated. Email me if you like [email protected]

That sounds to easy, only question, how do I do that? Is there an instruction manual or guidance anywhere?
I have flashed other phones in the past but this one is stumping me.
I have looked for some of these methods only to be completing surveys that inundate me with spam and phone calls, only to be left without the downloads that I needed. Did I mention how much I love my phone?
Thanks again

Managed to root my phone.. even when I have updated the EMUI to B018, but there was an issue.. I tell you below
Step I follow from Chinese Forum below...
Preparation step :
1. download the tools from
https://www.mediafire.com/?9drsdo2f6hn4j34
2. Extract the content to your local. Note there are two folders :
- Folder 1 is for the tool that contains the TWRP recovery.img and the adb/fastboot tool,
- Folder 2 is for the original recovery
3. Copy the SuperSU zip to your phone (either in internal or external memory of your phone)
Installation step :
Step 0, unlock your bootloader (search around on how to do it)
1. Since I am using mac, somehow I don't need to install any driver, but if you using windows, install all the driver yourself
2. Enable the developer mode in your phone, and after that enable the usb debugging
3. Turn off your phone, and boot to fastboot (in off mode, connect the phone with your PC then press Volume Up and Power Button together)
4. Since now your phone has been connected to the PC, go to that Tool folder in respective of your OS, then overwrite the recovery with TWRP with fastboot command (install custom recovery) *note : for mac just add "./" in every command
- check the whether its connected : fastboot devices
- install TWRP : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
5. Restart your phone and boot to recovery
- restart : fastboot reboot
- after reboot, turn off your phone
- reboot to recovery : turn on your phone by holding Volume Down with Power button
- Now you are at TWRP
6. Install SuperSU (root)
- Install SuperSU zip that has already been copied to your phone using TWRP (use the Install mode)
7. Reboot the phone
- Use reboot function in twrp
8. Profit
Theoritically the above things works but I have some issues following the above :
- After step 4, after recovery being flashed with TWRP seems like my phone Boot Partition is being overwritten too
- So when I rebooted the phone, it boot to TWRP instead
- So I tried to re-flashed the recovery with the original EMUI rom recovery (go to the folder "2.P8Max_Official_Recovery(For_restoration)" to find the original recovery.img). Also note that in the this folder, the adb and fastboot is only for mac. The one for windows use it in the tools
- This is done by going to fastboot again, then do command : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- This time using the original recovery
- Now when I rebooted the phone, it goes to EMUI recovery, then I just clicked restart to system or something
- After this, everything fixed, and I have SuperSU install and phone rooted
You can follow the above, but do it at your own risk, I am not responsible if your phone brick hehehe..

The recovery img file link did you downloaded it?
You must download it and but the recovery.img file in fastboot folder
Then rename it to recovery.img.
And open cmd orders from fastboot folder .
Just type
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
You must download the recovery file into the same folder that you ran your command and in your case "p8 max root". Make sure that the recovery filename is recovery.img instead of some other names.

Nice. Was this on Marshmallow?
Thanks for porting TWRP to the TB2 A10-30F/L, @Costi979 and @ProtoDeVNan0! :good:
I've tried booting it first via fastboot boot recovery.img, which worked great, but it fails to backup /system, /boot and /data, as SELinux is still enforced. Building my own kernel based on msm8909_defconf from the Lenovo Support source code for the A10-30F with SELinux disabled in the config worked so far, but now I can't seem to get the touch screen working (which did indeed work with the above attached recovery.img). How did you port TWRP and which kernel (from what source?) did you use? Is there a GitHub repository?

Hi all,
I've tried to recover my Lenovo Tab2 A10-30.
I have done the first 3 steps :
1-Turn off Your device.
2-Hold Vol up and plug in usb.
3-From stock recovery select reboot to bootloader.
but then the tablet stay whith the LENOVO logo (powered by android) and doesn't go to bootloader.
I've tried to wipe data, then reinstall fresh firmware TB2-X30F_S113_160816_ROW_FULLOTA. Tablet runs well, but no reboot on bootloader... (
any idea on how to install recovery.img for TWRP and then supersu ?
thanks for your help, and sorry for my english ;o)

Power off tablet, power on and keep pressing volume up and down keys. Tablet will boot in bootloader. Connect to pc, device manager will install proper driver. Use QFIL to flash firmware

Hi,
Yes, OEM unlock is enabled and USB debug also.
RECOVERY MODE is working good (vol up + power) : I can go to RECOVERY. Then I select "Reboot to Bootloader". The tablet reboots but stay in the screen with the LENOVO logo and "Powered by android".
If I start whith buttons (vol up & vol down + power) : same behaviour, tablet stay in Logo screen.
If I start whith down button + power, I can go to the factory meny (with all chineese characters).
Perhaps my bootloader partition is broken ? With RECOVERY MODE, can I reflash it ?
Thanks for your help,

Hi Sebastien,
Those stat errors are fine. I had them coming also but those didn't prevent from rooting.
It's hard when there isn't much community behind the product. For Samsung products is fairly easy to get rooted as there is community behind them.
One question. Did you download Latest(V2.79):Recovery Flashable.zip from SuperSU??

Honor 6 - Unable to access recovery mode. Stuck at boot screen (honor logo)

Hi,
My Honor 6 (Indian Version) was stuck in boot loop post OTA upgrade from B822 to B831. In order to fix this issue, I went through many forums available online and then decided to use the Multi Tool to downgrade to Android L & EMUI 3.1.
To get this done I have followed the below steps:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Extract BOOT, CUST, RECOVERY and SYSTEM files from the update package downloaded from Honor.in site. //(Honor 6_Firmware_H60-L04_Android 5.1.1_EMUI 3.1_C675B570_India_Flipkart)//
3. Used Multi Tool to unbrick.
Post this the phone is not able to get into recovery mode; it's stuck at the logo screen. It doesnot recognise the 3 button command to boot into recovery mode.
I have tried using the 'boot to recovery' command in Multi Tool but it throws error "daemon not running starting on port 5037".
I have also tried adb command but for some reason my computer does not recognise my mobile.
i.e. adb devices --> doesnot show my device. (yes, I have updated the abb drivers). So I am not able to use any adb commands.
Then i tried installing/flashing CWM & TWRP recovery. None helped. :crying:
Now I am here, out of options and do not know how to proceed.
Could someone in this forum help me fix the current issue? Please.
In addition, I would like to know a few things:
a. How to install a new OS/ROM on a dead phone? (Healthy hardware with corrupt software)
b. How to format any phone and start a fresh installation?
c. How to read internal memory of a phone which has no ROM or corrupt software?
I am new to all this. Please bear with me.
Thanks,
Sampath

Hi,
My Honor 6 (Indian Version) was stuck in boot loop post OTA upgrade from B822 to B831.

I am in a bit different situation, let me explain.
Till day before yesterday I was on B570 Rom, then I upgraded over OTA to B831, then Unlocked Bootloader, Rooted, Installed Latest TWRP Recovery & Installed Latest Xposed Framework, everything went successfull & My phone is running fine.
But the question that arises to me is that none of the Stock Marshmallow update for Honor 6 - H60-L04 has been stable as compared to Lollipop Version & I found B570 super stable & the possibility of myself reverting back to B570 is more. What would be the procedure to revert back to B570.. I think first of all I would have to revert back to stock recovery & then flash the rom package, but how to do this successfully.
Kindly advice.

Thank you for your response. :good:
I have flashed all the files using the fastboot mode, but my phone does not recognise the 3 button command.
It either displays the Honor logo or restarts with a quick vibration. the only command it recognised is 'Vol Down + USB plugged into a computer' (for fastboot).
When flashed with Honor Custom or CWM recovery the phone does not recognise:
1. Vol up + Vol down + Power - for recovery mode
2. Vol down + Power - for hard reset/clear cache partition
When flashed with TWRP recovery the phone only recognises: Power + Vol Up button which boots into recovery mode; however this works only when connected to a power source, the moment I disconnect the power cable the phone switches off.
I tried to install Honor 6 custom ROM EMUI4.0 using TWRP. Need guidance on the below two scenarios.
1. TWRP only recognises .zip files. HONOR custom ROMs are in .app format. What should I do?
2. As a work around, I have downloaded 'Honor 6_Firmware_H60-L04_Andriod 6.0_EMUI 4.0_C432B820_Channel-Others.zip' from xda forum and tried installing it, but TWRP throws a 'no md5 file found' error.
To address this I tried using WinMD5.exe to get the MD5 code and manually created a .MD5 file, but TWRP did not recognise it. Please guide.

You need to flash stock recovery first, by executing this command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
@sampathnayak09
Make sure your power button is working correctly. If the files can be flashed successfully, you should be able to boot into recovery.
Honor firmware can only be flashed using three button method. You can search online for making .zip from .app but I am not sure that will solve your problem.

There are rollback packages for going back. I have read those threads on XDA but could not find them again. Will look for them and will send you a link as soon as I found one.

Thanks for the reply.
If I extract the recovery.img from the B831 Rom Package & flash the same using the below command will it give me back my stock recovery.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
And if once I am on Stock Recovery I hope I can again Install a full fresh copy of the B831 Package which will be with Stock Recovery i.e NO TWRP Recovery & root free. And after that when I get the rollback package I can revert back to B570. Pls advice am I going right or is there any possibility that I will brick my phone.

My honor 6 bricked about a month ago so can not verify this method but to get out of bootloop, always keep a nandroid backup of your device somewhere safe.
You can make a nandroid backup using twrp. Save it to SD card and then copy it to your PC to keep it safe.

Hi,
I did flash the stock recovery, but my phone keeps rebooting and doesn't get into recovery mode.
I am sure it has sufficient battery charge. (Close to 90%).
Is there a way to do a clean install on Android phones? Like the way we install Windows OS on computers. Format hard disks, create partitions and then install a fresh OS?
Thanks

Find attached below the required links for Rollback package & TWRP.
1) https://club.hihonor.com/in/honor6.217/downgrade-link-from-marshmallow-b831-to-lollipop-b570.7935
2) https://twrp.me/devices/huaweihonor6.html
Regarding TWRP, it lets you install custom roms & other apps which cannot be installed thru stock recovery e.g Xposed Framework. Further TWRP is useful for restoring the phone as it allows to restore the phone by using Nandroid backups taken earlier, provided the Nandroid backups are stored in SD Card. There may be more advantages which I am still trying to find out.

Let me know which Rom version is your phone running now & which version you are trying to migrate to.
Also if 3 button Force update is not working then you can try the project menu option.
But first let me know what state your phone is currently in.

Honor 6 C [DIG-L21HN] How to root ?

Hi I've unlocked the bootloader of my phone but I can't find any recoveries to push through ADB, therefore I can't flash SU. Does someone have a solution ?
Allright, for the newcomers, I've found a solution for this : (it is very important that you don't update your rom if you've rooted your phone, unless you want a 150$ brick I guess !)
Don't forget to install adb before anything
1. Enable USB debugging in developers option.
2. Connect your phone to a computer and then launch cmd. Type «adb reboot fasboot».
3. Once in fastboot mode we will flash TWRP by typing this : «fastboot flash recovery 1streco.img».
4. Unplug and reboot your device, on the nag screen keep pressing the up volume button to enter recovery. If it doesn't work then choose shutdown and hit all three buttons while it's booting.
5. Once you are in TWRP, backup everything to extsdcard.
6. Go to wipe and format /data and wipe it under advanced wipe. DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER PARTITION !!! ONLY DATA.
7. Once it's done reboot the device. You should have a message telling you that the encryption failed, click reset phone.
8. It should launch TWRP choose reboot to bootloader.
9. Once in fastboot mode type this : «fastboot flash recovery 2ndreco.img» then type : «fastboot reboot».
10. Your phone should now display : «Factory reset low level» when you click reset phone. Once it's done it will automatically reboot but don't let it finish his boot sequence yet. On the nag screen keep pressing the up volume to enter recovery and then choose shutdown.
11. Boot in fastboot mode again and type : «fastboot flash recovery 1streco.img», then : «fastboot reboot».
Hold the vol.up button while on nag screen to enter TWRP.
If you don't enter TWRP after you typed fastboot reboot and hit the vol.up button but you enter erecovery that's ok, in this case what you need to do is to choose shutdown. Then hold vol.up, vol.down and power buttons to enter TWRP ! Go to install and flash magiskv13.3.zip and voilà your phone is now rooted !
I've not tried but I think you could restore the data partition with TWRP once you've done all those steps but I can't guarantee you anything so this is why I've told you to backup your data.

Si I've been able to install twrp but when I try to flash SuperSu.zip it doesn't work. It's crazy !
For those who wants to know, I've tried everything and the only way to go is to format and wipe data in order to disable dm-verity. But if you do that you won't be able to go further because the rom asks you to crypt your datas before continuing....

Hi guys ! Sorry for the wait but here it is, my tutorial to the graal, root on this device :

Can you tell us a little more about these two files? Where have you found them? (Not wanting to sound too paranoid but you know...)
I've found 1streco.img on a Chinese board. It's the work of a guy who managed to make TWRP available to us, users of honor 6c. The second one is the standard recovery image of Honor 6c. Those files are good, don't worry. Once your phone is rooted and everything works good, you can of course update magisk through TWRP to the lastest version.
OK, I have been trying around now for an hour or so... I have one real problem and one possible problem:
1. (the real one) Using Win7 64 bit, each time I send the the phone into fastboot mode, the system tries to install "MTP USB device" drivers... without any success so far. That's why the phone boots normally again. I haven't been able to solve that so far (installed HiSuite for example, didn't help).
2. (the possible one) Should the bootloader be unlocked? If yes, I have to admit I haven't found a way to do that so far. :-/
Of course the bootloader must be unlocked before doing anything, you can request a code here on Huawei website : http://en.ui.vmall.com/plugin.php?id=unlock
bravo there is machine back or full backup with recovery
Did you manage to root your phone ?
beautiful, can you install a module on magisk? if yes how because when installing the modules I get a failure when editing magisk.img thanks ?
No, you can't because of dm-verity, you.can manually install via recovery tho.
For the Russian version 6s failed to implant. ADB reboot fastboot this command does not put the phone in fastboot mode.

QMobile Noir E2 Root Method (No Bootloader Unlock Method Added)

Backstory:
I Bought this device from Pakistan for Rs15500 or 147 US Dollars. It was a relatively cheap and good device and like all QMobile Devices i thought it would have a counterpart in the Micromax Community like my old phone Qmobile Noir A10 and as it is known in India as Micromax A110.
Sadly i was mistaken. i scoured the net for any device resembling mine and none were found ... well none that had Android 7 or the same chip set.
SO Last Night i Sat Down and Worked and Somehow i was able to port a semi-working TWRP Recovery for This Device :fingers-crossed:
It Doesn't currently mount the Internal Storage... External SDCARD WORKS :good:

The Stock System of Noir E2 is Encrypted ..... all nougat based systems are encrypted
You need to backup all data in internal storage to your pc and go to TWRP and Go to Wipe and CLICK ON FORMAT DATA BUTTON
that will remove encryption and allow you to flash zip files
Do you have any custom rom for qmobile e2 like Cm14 rom or miui rom or any other
Bro i want another rom which can be flashed into the qmobile e2.The stock firmware is not good and it lags.
Also i don't like its stock firmware user interface.
So is there any way to flash another rom in it.
I searched alot about it but can't find any rom which can be flashed into it
And u r last hope.
I hope u will have any solution.:good:
Reply must. I am waiting.

I have read the specs of Panasonic eluga a3 and gsmarena shows that there is no fingerprint sensor in Panasonic eluga a3. So plz tell me that everything is working correctly or there is some bugs.
And share me the method to port/flash that rom.
I will me thankful to you.

Everything works .... You will have to flash the OS via SP Flash tools so make backup of everything in your internal storage ... Also it comes with some preinstalled apps so you will have to delete those .... But over all it's a much more optimized system than the QMobile OS.
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B4KUp-X2vfc3aVpiQUdiQ293OGM&export=download
Download from above ... Flash using SP Flash tools and after setting phone up there will be a small update ... Install that and then flash twrp and install magisk and if you want install Xposed as well.
Enjoy.
I got an error in sp flash tool and also Non removable battery problem

FIXED: Mount Internal Storage in TWRP (Q Mobile Noir E2)
To mount internal storage in TWRP Recovery, Click on Wipe > Format Data > Type "yes" and Click on Ok. Then Reboot into Recovery. Now your Internal Storage is Mounted in TWRP. But it will format whole internal storage and factory reset rom so make a backup before doing this.
