MTCD add 2 wifi antenna? - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hello,
On my MTCD board I've got 2 connections for wifi antenna. Can I use both to improve WiFi? Which WiFi lead goes where as there's no marking on the board?
Thanks
Saj

What unit do you have ?
Post pics of the board as well

Details of board
I did try to post images but not got enough posts to link to images, Sorry. Details below of the MTCD board.

I have a Witson MTCD -PX3 and PX5 and added two Antennas as you can see; Simply buy 2 SMA-Sockets with attached cable and solder it to the two two-hole terminals next to the Wifi Chip

Thanks Kalti94. So I don't have to use all the connections for both the antennas? Just 2 connectors are required for all 4 soldering points on the main board? For me it's a pain taking the stereo out of the car as have to take out part of the dashboard.

FM Antenna Question.

Hey guys,
Does any of you knows if the MTCD head-units provide 12v power over the FM antenna connector?
Most cars antennas these days require power either over the coaxial cable or separately.
My original multimedia system in the car had times better reception than my MTCD unit.
BTW my car is a Great Wall Hover H6 (also known as Haval H6) a Chinese SUV.

Hi There,
My MTCD (GS) unit has a separate "ANT" wire which is used to power the antenna, the antenna connector itself is not powered and I don't believe any of them are.
Hope that helps.

I remember the ANT wire and supposedly it is connected but still the reception is bad.
Most VAG cars for instance, after 1997 are using powered antennas and the stock radios are providing power to the antenna trough the antenna cable itself. There are many adapters for aftermarket radios like THIS one for instance.
I'm not sure from what car the Chinese copied the antenna assembly... the entire Dashboard looks very similar to a Honda CRV but who knows...

The adaptor you linked to is similar to what I use for my DAB+ however, my FM reception was fine before I was using that. I have the adaptor so that I can pick up DAB+ signal via my normal non-powered antenna.
Where have you connected the "ANT" wire?

To be fair I don't remember, but I do remember something called antenna power (or something similar). I'll be upgrading my PX3 board to PX5 soon so I'll double check everything again.

It's a separate wire, labeled many times ant_power or ant.. The cable-color is blue. It provides +12 at power on.
I have the same problem. I tried an adapter but no results.
If someone find a solution, it could be nice.

PX5 unit battery drain

Hi
Just wanted to ask advice here regarding my PX5 4gb oreo headunit. I appear to be having quite a bit of battery drain when away from the car. Ill try and give as much info as I can, but really my knowledge and understanding is very limited.
The unit I believe is manufactured by Hizpo (sticker on the side of unit) it has an XRC headunit on its latest firmware (2.89)
This is the second android headunit I have owned, the first being a Joying Sofia universal double din unit. I upgraded so I could have a unit designed to fit better in my car.
I have been finding every couple of months, if I do not go out in my car over the weekend, the battery is pretty much fully drained. Ive followed a couple of guides online and tested the parasitic draw with a multimeter. I appears to have a 0.25a drain when off, pulling fuses pointed to the radio circuit, and then removing the radio the drain went to pretty much to 0a.
The unit came supplied with the correct wiring harness for my 2011 honda crv.
I have then read a few posts about the headunits needing a constant 12v feed from the yellow wire, with the red wire being switched with the ignition. I have checked the volts from the harness, and when off, it is only the yellow wire that carries a 12v signal, so no faults with the harness. The wiring also matches the supplied wiring diagram supplied as a sticker on the unit.
This is the one thing that confuses me though. The wiring harness appears to be the opposite to my original Joying unit from last year. When I purchased the joying unit, I also purchased from a UK company a universal harness just in case I needed one, in the end I didn't, but both the Joying and this universal iso harness match in wiring configuration. This Hizpo unit, even though it is wired correctly as per their diagram, is the opposite to the other harnesses I have.
I have read comments from other posts about switching the red and yellow wires in similar situations as mine. Is this advised, is there a chance of breaking the unit if I try to do this?
Hope this all makes sense, apart from the battery drain the unit is perfect for my needs, annoyingly ive had this for 6 months now so probably can't really send back to the Aliexpress seller I purchased from.
Cheers

I also had this issue but found I had to disconnect a cable as part of my wiring harness that went into my mk6 Golf other wise it would not shut off with the accessories.
I don’t suppose you know which wire it was. As I say the iso harness matches the wiring diagram found on the head unit. All I’ve seen mention before is swapping the red and yellow wires but don’t want to do this and blow the unit!

The below link is the unit I purchased, if you scroll down around 3/4 of the page you will see a section outlining the dimensions and accessories.
Cable part 22 is what I need to disconnect to stop the battery drain.
Hope it might help

PX5 Audio problems: Schreeching sound!

Hi,
I have the Seicane PX5 MTCE HF and it was working fine until 2 months ago, a screeching sound happen and then no more sound!
I have contacted the sales person and I was trying to get it fix, with the support.
They never heard that sound before.
in any case, they can't help.
I would like to know if anyone can identify the sound and if it is possible to fix.
I'm ready to use a USB DAC if nothing else work.
The sound happear every time I start the car, about 1 to 2 mins after it started, then nothing... until the car cool again.
Before the screaching sound happen, the unit work normaly, the sound is normal.
Even if there is no music, the sound happen.
Any input is the same results.
The rest of the unit work the same, just no more sounds.

I want to thank you all for your tips and things to look for.
I did find that the amplifier IC is way too hot and did crack the PCB on the edje and few coposants have crack too.
I tried to replace them, but still the amplifier is still too hot after I fill out the gaps beteen the IC and the cassing.
In any case I decided to replace the unit.
I bought a YT9213A_00009_v001_20200806
8227L v 3.4
MCU 3.1 (?)
... and I regret it, no output for the back speakers, no base sound at all!
I bought an external amplifier 4x50w and 600w subwoofer and the RCA plugs have no output on the back two speakers and no subwoofer output!
So, it is slower than the PX5, the radio is only FM and loose the signals all the time, sometime it switch the station by itself!
I'm not happy with the unit, difficult to do setup as of now, the buttons on the side are no longer working.
Like I said, not happy.
If you know a way to reset ALL options to get back the buttons, that would be a step in the correct direction.
Thank you again for all of your tips to fix the PX5.
Richard.
When I took my HU apart I found there was a load of heatsink compound between the amp IC and the case indicating there's a large gap between the 2. I used thermal epoxy to shim the case and close the gap but there's a good chance simply re-mounting the board would have been enough.
All you need to do is undo all the board mounting screws except the ones for the amp. Tighten the amp screws but don't go crazy they're fairly small screws and won't take too much torque then put the board screws back in with a small screwdriver so not to over torque them.

Hi nic2k,
Thank you for your suggestion, I'll have to wait until the weather is a bit warmer.
Thank you for looking into this bizarre sound.
Have a great one!

You could try to upgrade the MCU to this one if your version is lower and your head unit doesn't have a dedicated DSP chip:
latest MCU HF available on the net: V3.30 sound patched for better audio
dmcu(MTCE-HF-3.30sp+by+cs-x).7z

Hi themissionimpossible,
Thank you for the MTCE file, I already update to v3.30.You mentioned: “... your head unit doesn't have a dedicated DSP chip”, how can I know?
There another effect from the new version of the MTCE: the Wifi selection under [Setup], [Car], [Factory Setup]: the Wifi module name is not there anymore, nor the Bluetooth!
So even if I tried each one, reboot, test… still no Wifi or Bluetooth for now, but that’s another story.
I’ll try nic2k's suggestion when the weather cooperates.
Thank you again for your suggestion, much appreciated.
Richard.

Besides looking inside the HU for the DSP board, you might find from the specs if your unit has this option included (indeed not very common...)

Unfortunately you don't look to have a MTCB or MTCD/E head unit, so you'd better ask in the general section:

Question EKIY T7 Detailed video of teardown, hardware, wiring, PCB, and accessories

This is a long, boring, detailed look at the circuit board, wiring, and accessories for this EKIY T7 generic UIS 7862 FYT based Android head unit. This may be helpful to those with questions about the hardware implementation, or those who would like more details about how to install such a device. That said, the unit is never powered on. There is no footage at the software layer/GUI at all. I will do a separate video of the install itself and we'll take a look at the pretty menus and lights.
This video is private?
That's a shame I would like to watch it.

Sorry, not sure how that happened. It's public again! Enjoy!
Interesting. That unit is totally different in layout to the Joying UIS7862 units.
Roughly the same components on the board though.
That IC you show is indeed a USB hub chip. My Joying unit actually has 4 USB ports although only 2 are brought out on the rear. The other two are just 5 pin JST headers.
ekolpack, I really enjoyed your video. When do you plan on posting one with it on? I am curious how fast it turns on in the car after it has completely booted up and does it just go to sleep mode when the car is off? I have a T7 model coming in the next 3-4 weeks from Aliexpress and am looking forward to using it, but your one video explained a lot. Thanks so much

Thanks, I got bogged down in some other aspects of upgrades to the vehicle so not quite ready to put the head unit in yet (will require my DSP, amps, and speakers in order for the sound system to work the way I want). But I will definitely be doing a detailed dive on the software and accessories at that time. I'll reply back here with a link to the video. Thanks!
hello guys, in this radio, do you know how to enable the other 2 USB ports, if you have many devices, you will need more USB ports, someone has tested the USB video out rca device, Adams cam
the rear 6 pin connector can be connected to pin 5 and 6, to enable the other USB, it works.?
Do you think it's possible to add front parking camera? Like im the px5 units?
Thanks
