Please Help! Can't decide which device I should buy. - Android General

Hey guy's. I'm looking to buy a new phone but I can decide which one to buy. Currently I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 and the Huawei P10 Lite. Factors that will influence my choice is battery life, overall performance(I hate phones that lags/slow), gaming performance and the camera.
So please help. Thanks.

hey diebill , well both the devices are nice. Samsung has a better camera than that of huwae , samsung's well know for its camera and for its lagness! But now the things have changed the new devices doesnt lag anymore. I would prefer huawei than samsung because it supports fast charging , receives OTA updates (whereas samsung doesnt thats why most users have to root their devices) , and talking about the battery , both the devices have 3000mah battery which is pretty nice but if you live in india than huawei is not the phone for you , it dosnt support indian 4G bands. Huawei is faster than samsung, huawei has a 2.15GHZ octa-core processor wheras samsung have 1.9GHZ octa-core processor , huawei has a ram of 4 gb whereas samsung has 3gb , so in overall performance huawei is better than samsung and I think that u should go with huawei .

Thank you for the great info. I also done some research and did find that the A5 still use the Android 6.0.1 and the P10 Lite uses Android 7.0

For reducing the amount of unnecessary clutte the thread got closed since there already is an established "which device shall I buy?" thread. Please continue your discussion over there.

[Q] a special edition of N8010?

Recently I found a special edition of n8010 called engerneering edition or something,
It differs from the general n8010,it has a exynos 4410 dual-core CPU and only 1g ram.
(general edition has exynos 4412,Quad-core CPU and 2g ram, else are the same)
Now it has a system of android 4.0.3,every ROM for general n8010 dosen't work on this one.(A poor guy has tried this, and, thanks th him~!)
so I wanna know if I'd use android 4.0.4 or higher version, how?
Is it easy for ROM modifing?
Well,plz ignore my poor English~~
Smells like a Fake or Clone to me .

Its Likely real.. Samsung created a version of the Note 10.1 with alot less power. There were huge issues with its speed. I think it might have been sold to one test market or maybe just there testers. Anyway samsung then decided to NOT sell the device. The upgraded the cpu ram and a used faster memory and that is the one that we all have .
I do not remember all of the details but the above could be somewhat incorrect. I DO know there was a dual core 1 gb version that never made it to mass production . So that note seems to be one of them

Well, one of them I know,is reselled electronic waste with a terrible shell. So I think it almost impossible to be a fake one.
The one with perfect shell is about 180 USD,or 1100 rmb.

Yes that's it.The seller told me the same thing. He said that They're exactly for test use,and he got them by some ways.
If ROM modifing for specified CPU is easy, maybe I'll consider to get one~
May this pic help you.

I read it as a bought product .
But yes there have always been test products floating around or Sales Demo models .
The kernel on this one suggests it is one of the test jobs .
Multiple users bought S3 demo model that had no network .

Lenovo Sisley S90 unboxing review--best iphone 6 clone

This is a high tech times, which inspired most manufacturers in cellphone creating its best geek to draw their customers' attention. In China, there are numerous brands which is well-known to all, such as Xiaomi, Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo, Oppo and so on, which can even beat Samsung and Apple in sales. People tend to pursue and prefer the inexpensive device with good performance to those the luxury things. Therefore, Lenovo also has made a big step to create the iphone 6 clone, named as Lenovo Sisley S90. And can you believe it will be the best clone of iphone 6? See more details with me about the real test of Lenovo Sisley S90.
First, in view of the apperance, i was shocked by the lookalike of iphone 6, although it's not the 1:1 clone of iphone 6. Due to its larger screen with 5inch 1280*720p HD IPS screen of Lenovo Sisley S90, i love its screen and display. It's easy to hold and take. When i hold it, it is so thinner than other lenovo smartphones. Lenovo has made great progress on its weight and design.
Second, this time, Lenovo didn't use the MTK chipset but Snapdragon 410 Quad core 1.2ghz CPU, from the chipset, it will be better to use snapdragon chipest, it runs faster than mtk chipset. When i play "temple run", the speed is extremely swift. Lenovo s90 has 19219 high antutu test score. i like the whole performance. I never worry about the crashing of my smartphone.
Third, as for me, i think ram 1gb is not enough to store the apps i want, but 16gb rom is completely enough to download the ideal videos or games for me. I strongly advice lenovo s90 should release RAM 2gb version. Right now, i am enjoying it. Hope it can let me enjoy more.
Fourth, nowadays, the system of Android4.4 kitkat enjoys wide popularity. It's no exception for this nice Lenovo Sisley S90, although it's android4.4 OS, i believe it will be updated Android5.0 lollipop OS. Therefore, i will enjoy the new UI.
Fifth, it's said that Lenovo Sisley S90 is famous for the dual camera, which provide the ultra-clear and auto shooting function. It has 13.0MP Rear Camera and 8.0MP Front Camera, higher than other smartphones like Huawei, ZTE and so on. This good feature attracts me a lot. I can take every beautiful moment by this smartphone.
Latest but not least, 4G LTE network has been a tendency around the world, this lenovo s90 supports 4G FDD LTE network, which can be used in Europe and other countries. GPS is also necessary in a smartphone. I can use google map to position the way i want.
Therefore, lenovo s90 is a super competivie smartphone for me. I have not only experienced the dual camera, but also test the battery with 2300 mAh, which can support long-time working. Hope my experience will be helpful for you.

I got it from China already rooted, it has 2gb of Ram it runs fantastic and smoothly. The best dual sim for 200 $. There is also another version only in Grey colour with 2gb of ram and 32 gb of space.
Hi is it rooted from the box ? I also having problem in rooting this device. hope someone can help us on this. Thanks.

i believe it's not hd ips, it's super amoled. I got champagne gold 32gb S90-A. its lollipop 5.0.2 update messes alot of its performance. it drains fast, a bit laggy, sounds too low, camera not its best both front and back. But if you are not into details, L update is just ok for you except for the battery drains faster. i suggest stay on kitkat until they fix the problem.

Good mini smartphone 4.7-4.5 inch advice requested

Hi folks,
Recently my daughter crashed her Samsung Galaxy S4 mini phone. I started to look for some decent replacement. Decent I mean: 2GB RAM, at last quad core processor, memory card slot, Lollipop on board
Problem is that she has really small hand so the phone cant by big. After looking for few days I was very surprised, that there is almost no offer in this range - most producers moved to 5"-5.5" range.. I found only Samsung A3. Other mini phones were just rubbish.
Can you advice anything good ? Maybe I missed some phone ?
I know right, I have exactly the same problem. You may want to take a look at Jiayu G5 (if it's still available), or Xiaomi Redmi 2. Both have quad core processors, memory card slots, although no Lollipop. Xiaomi Redmi 2, depending on the version, has 2 GB RAM.
I heard great things about the Moto E as well, though that's really a budget phone (albeit not that much cheaper) with Lollipop, low MP camera (which she may deem important to know), but only 1 GB RAM.
That market is difficult.
Most important thing , what is your budget ?

But Redmi 2 i pretty wide: 67 mm while S4 mini was only 61 mm

She was usually able to kill battery in her previous Samsung galaxy s3 i9300 within 1 day. With Redmi 3 she was not able to go below 3 days. Usually lasts 4-5 days. .
She does not play but do heavy web browsing.

Yep. You get 8 core snapdragon with 4000mAh battery, decent built quality. I think it is currently the best deal for 5" phone worldwide.
Just have to root and get rid of chinese crap or load multilanguage developer rom.
It is no worse then my 5.5" Lenovo Vibe P1 costing over 100$ more.

Future Proof & Gaming

I have seen on older videos on internet, that S820(HTC 10,LG G5) outclasses the Exynos 8890. But i have seen Exynos 8890 doing wonders on Vulkan.
And how about Future proof? When Samsung stop releasing softwares for S7 in 1-2years, is there any way to get tot the newer android, knowing that we dont have CM14?
So should i switch my S7 for a S820 Device for gaming and future proof?
Upp
Dont worry about it, you will just get a new phone.

The OnePlus Nord has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, alongside up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Vivo V20, however, carries an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. within the end, Nord features a better processor and it's also future-proof because it has 5G connectivity. For more information review this informatin https://productz.com/en/vivo-y20/p/4eKn
I also have tried y20. its battery performance is excellent.
one plus x
from which perspective you need comparison bro, according to speed text comparison I mostly prefered One Plus and advised others to go with One Plus, but mainly in "front Camera" Compersion no doubt Vivo is good just because of its beautyCAM features, But if you could find a phone that has same specification as Vivo or One Plus, then my suggestion is still same you have to go with the One Plus, No doubt in India this is best company ever, unionwells france
