Suggestion: Dangerous programs sticky thread.

This is a suggestion / request to the mods as well as an invitation to all site members to contribute any info they have on this.
At the moment there are no real viruses for windows mobile devices, only a few proofs of concept.
But I have encountered a few examples of supposedly normal commercial software that I really wouldn't want installed on my phone.
Example 1:
A while back a small company (who's name I no longer remember) sent a letter to all its customers threatening that the anti-piracy protection on their software will damage your bootloader if a cracked version of one of their apps is discovered on your phone.
Example 2:
It was reported a while back that Agile Messenger sent user names and passwords for all messenger services unencrypted through the net potentially giving anyone access to your accounts.
Example 3:
While reading the EULA for Opera Mini I discovered it sends users phone number and all their browsing data (cookies, history, cache) to the Opera ASA server basically spying on your internet activities.
Unfortunately all the threads dealing with these otherwise nice and useful apps have now moved deep in to site history so any new users or just someone who haven't been on the site for a while is likely to miss them.
My proposal is this:
Create a sticky locked thread, I think the general section would be most appropriate, so anyone visiting the site would be able to see the list of programs he might want to avoid.
Why lock the thread?
As I understand it moderators can still edit locked threads any time they want so there are two reasons to keep it locked from the general public:
1) To keep the list clear and easily readable.
I am sure many people will want to comment on the software even if it is just to say "how dare they do this?", but any comments / questions would be better off in separate threads.
2) To be fair to the software creators.
I think that anyone making a claim against a software should provide some minimum proof. Like the email quoted in example one, comm log dump or screen shots. At the very list confirmation from other users.
This site has a lot of impact on the mobile community and it would be a shame if a wrongfully accused software would suffer due to being publicized as damaging here.

Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably don't want to do it here either. This does not mean we agree with everything the software piracy lobby try to impose on us, it simply means you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users, and those that write great code.

I just want to see if someone can make an app or develop the FIFA 15 UT Android in such a way that I can simulate SEASONS and not just single matches also I want to be able to win in matches during this simulation

Such a thing is not possible without reverse Engineering the App. You can post the request to EA on the App's Google Play page should you choose to do so with bit more explicitness.
Since this request can not be met without modifying current app, (which would violate XDA rules), thread closed.

Facebook/Twitter/Skype Phishing

Hello XDA,
I was wondering If there is an application that can work OFFLINE tp phish fb or any Else social thing...
I had An idea of An app where you can select what social media login Page he must fake, the path where to store the passwords and some other basic phishing options.
As i do NOT want to ask for An evil app (or to create one)
This is for testing purposes only and a proof of concept to my friends.
So, could anyone give me a link to such ANDROID app or give me a message If someone wants to develop such app --- as i would like to sponsor the project ---

Once again, this is not forcing evil purposes but to show that it would be possible. NOT MEANT FOR ANY BAD PURPOSES, AS HACKING AND PHISHING ARE ILLEGAL. This is just a proof of concept (so to the moderators, please don't delete this thread)

[CLOSED] Does changing IMEI really work?

I have a question, when the imei is changed to a rooted Android device, does the company operator see that new imei? Well, I understand that the imei is stored in ROM memory. Does any developer know how the Android OS accesses said IMEI number to send it to the operator?
Or do the magisk and app modules that mask the imei really cause the android system to send the changed imei when requesting the IMEI information?
Request this information not for illegal purposes, but to see the real usefulness of the apps that claim to be able to change the imei

It is illegal in quite a few countries to change the IMEI. At XDA, we don't allow discussions on changing the IMEI.
