[Q] USB device is not recognized when on "download mode"!

Hi,
I wanted to update an I9003 from Android 2.2 to 2.3.4 JPKP5 (with latona.pit, I used this combination twice with two other phones), I used odin 1.85 for this purpose.
Connected the phone to the PC, it failed to install one of the drivers, but, it appeared in odin... so, I continued :cyclops:.
the operation stopped at about the mid-way and there was "FAIL" and red slot....
Unplugged and plugged it (without restarting, and the progress bar was still there) odin recognized it but couldn't flash again, stuck at "SettingUpConnection"...
I pressed the power button to restart it... then it showed (Phone <!> PC) logo in the screen....
Turned it off by removing the battery, I doesn't boot to recovery nor normal boot...
BUT, I can go into download mode without being apple to connect it to the PC, it shows me (USB device is not recognized) and doesn't appear in odin.
SO.... What is the phone's state and what can I do to fix the problem??
Thank you in advance
you have installed the drivers in your pc? If not yet, install KIES first.
I had the same issue. Even after installing kies my com: port didn't detect . So i reinstalled Windows 7 & installed kies after that. Now odin worked perfect.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app
I know what you're talking about... the drivers are installed properly and I connect other device to odin properly... I can tell that the problem is because of the device... It's dead for ever!!
I think it is bricked. So try to reinstall the drivers and install any other rom. If it is not working try a JTAG repair.

[Q] bricked samsung galaxy 5830m not detected by pc

I flashed my phone with cm10 I think? every thing went fine with that it was successful, however when the phone rebooted it stops at the samsung logo. The unit will not go into recovery mode. When I put it into download mode the screen shows odin d/l mode and the model is 5830i but my model is 5830m. also the computer does not even detect my device. where do I go from here?
Download a ROM for the 5830m with an Odin install. Go into download and install the ROM with Odin.
pc does acknolwedge that a device is connected
pc does acknowledge that a device is connected, it's as the pc doesn't know that a device is connected,( yes I loaded samsung drivers and Kies). What am I doing wrong?

P3100 logo only

I installed all the necessary drivers and odin and recovery on my laptop.
The tab2 is giving error on pc (this device wont start) mtp uSB. THe tab is stuck at 'samsung p3100' logo.
Odin wont recognize it.
I cannot get into odin mode or recovery.
If it is any help, I have a working p3100 also running on stock firmware.
what should be my next step? I think I can manage if only I can get odin to recognize my phone or get into recovery (both of which seem to be missing.)
PS: I had a thread running in the general forum but think I will get more and proper answers here.

Why won't Odin recognize my S2 Plus device on download mode ?

[SOLVED]: connect the USB cable to the computer first, without connecting to the phone, enter download mode and only then connect the cable to the phone. works without the original cable
I found the solution here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/usb-device-recognized-download-mode-t1600497
I have tried numerous solutions for flashing TWRP or CWM on my I9105p device.
examples:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560928
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168700
in all cases, the various Odin's recgnize the device when connected normally, but not on download mode.
Odin Versions:
3.07
3.09
3.12.3
Any suggestions on how to proceed ?
In all cases, the device is not recognized as connected in odin's Log
I used this computer with Odin lately for TWRP on my S3
I tried all USB ports
I have the latest Samsung USB driver installed (1.5.65)
I restarted my computer aftre this driver's installation

Hard problems with Samsung Galaxy S6 (broken flash chip?)

Hello guys, I'm really STUCK with the galaxy S6 (G920F) at the moment.
A friend gave it to me he said it suddenly turned off while he was playing a game and couldn't boot anymore.
I can't turn it off, it will keep on turning on automatically.
I can't go into recovery mode.
I can only go into download mode and flash a firmware with odin
I flashed the stock firmware with the latest odin and it flashed successfully. But it's still stuck on the Samsung logo (powered by Android) and won't boot into recovery or do anything at all.
So I read it could be the battery, so I bought a new one and replaced the battery.
But the problem remains. On Windows 7 x64 it's detected as "Gadget Serial" and "SAMSUNG Mobile USB CDC Composite Device" when I'm in download mode.
Odin detects the phone fine.
I then tried using Samsung Kies, and Samsung Smart Switch. Samsung Smart Switch detects an "unsupported device" and Samsung Kies doesn't detect anything at all and is stuck at "connecting...".
I don't have any ideas anymore and I fear it's a dead flash chip or any other board malfunctions.
Any suggestions maybe? Pleasee?

Sounds to me like it has run out of storage space and has no room to cache files when it boots.
Have you tried extracting the stock recovery.img from the stock firmware file then converting the recovery.img to a .tar.md5 file, then flashing the recovery and try to boot directly to it after flashing? If you can get into recovery, you can factory reset the device and wipe the cache partition. Sometimes this solves a bootloop issue after flashing stock firmware.
You can also try flashing a copy of TWRP for your device and then use TWRP to factory reset and wipe the device.
