Hi,
since update to 1.13.161.1 smart lock face recognation does not work here.
I can register rmy face but the unlocking does not work.
Same for 1.16.400.5. You also can't improve face matching, the camera just doesn't start

If this has its in thread please delete it i just can't find it via the mobile app. I'm noticing that this phone has a hard time focusing the camera. I've turned off face detection but I still find the picture taken is usually out if focus compared to what's on screen.
Any setting fixes or is it my phone or do we wait for a fix or is it just me?

Is smile detection still enabled? If so, disable that feature too.
With face detection off it automatically disables smile detection.

While in my pocket, I had the phone do some odd behavior 2 times today that I attribute to the menu getting pulled down and registering a tap on my new emails. Is there a way to disable the menu pull-down while on lock screen?
Running stock.
I would like this too, never had an issue with pushing things, but it annoys me as the phone should be locked, and not able to pull it down

I thought I read somewhere the only way to prevent it was to have a security feature (Face Unlock/PIN/pattern) activated.

This is true. I've confirmed this on multiple devices. It's really stupid if you ask me.

disabling pull down in lock screen is the most useless feature i can think of. it's so handy to have it.
You revived a year old thread just to say that?

Hello guys. My vibrator has suddenly stopped working. I can make it to work for a few seconds by tapping the edges of the phone. But the intensity is very less. My phone is just 2 months old so can I get a new motor under warranty.
I live in India and mine is a S3 version.
Thank you.

Hi, if you're using a Sense based rom, type this into the dialer
*#*#3424#*#* and try the test for the haptic feedback.
If it doesn't work, I would relock the bootloader and send it in to warranty

If you haven't dropped your phone and/or it doesn't have any signs of physical abuse, I believe you'll get it fixed under warranty...
Thanks for the replies. I haven't dropped my phone, there's not a scratch on the phone. I'm using the stock ROM and haven't unlocked the bootloader. Let's see. I'll go and an authorized SC and check.

I saw an app being developed 2 years ago but I guess they actually never finished it. If you're interested the app was called biolock by blueplanetapp. So is their any app that does this for android?

I don't think it will work with a cam a bio metric device is needed to scan fingerprints

I tend to agree, only because of the fact that a camera needs light to function. Digital cameras are after all photodiodes. If your finger was on the lens, there wouldnt be any light with which to image your finger.
Now, assuming you were to unlock via this method by holding ur finger a few inches away from the lens, I still dont think it would work as it would likely lack the resolution/fine detail needed to function and actually be secure in any way.
i have bought a samsung note 10 lite 2 days ago, and i'm facing a problem with the fingerprint sensor, when i try to unlock the phone, it won't respond to my finger at all, i have to relock the screen and unlock it again to work
What could possibly be the reason ?
Thanks in advance
I have the exact same issue on my 10 lite. I gave up trying to figure it out. A friend of mine has 10 lite and he has no issues at all.

I have managed to fix it by setting show icon when screen is off to "on always on display"
Disable optimise battery for com.samsung.android.biometric and it should make the fingerprint faster and more reliable.
Has anyone figured this out? It's driving me crazy.

Wait I'm on One UI 2.1 and the system tells me that it is already up to date... How did you get 2.5 ?
It's rolling out now for some regions.

You can try other regions. My device is HongKong TGY I use it in United States on At&t but flashed Spain PHE firmware that is 2.5. I rooted it and it works just fine. And finger print is much better on 2.5
