While in my pocket, I had the phone do some odd behavior 2 times today that I attribute to the menu getting pulled down and registering a tap on my new emails. Is there a way to disable the menu pull-down while on lock screen?
Running stock.
I would like this too, never had an issue with pushing things, but it annoys me as the phone should be locked, and not able to pull it down

I thought I read somewhere the only way to prevent it was to have a security feature (Face Unlock/PIN/pattern) activated.

This is true. I've confirmed this on multiple devices. It's really stupid if you ask me.

disabling pull down in lock screen is the most useless feature i can think of. it's so handy to have it.

Do you guys also think brightness level of the three capacitive button below the screen is too high? That causes the light leaks that is referred to here. especially at night, they look kind of annoying to my eyes. Is there a way to come up with a MOD to lower their brightness? Or it has to be changed at kernel level?
If so maybe we can post this to htcdev forums and ask HTC to do something about this.
I'd like to be able to turn them off completely. Annoying when watching videos at night. If solves the light leaks even better.

Awesome man. Turned mine off permanently.
Tip. Some reviews complain about the app having too many permissions. If you uninstall after making the changes, the settings maintain. We'll see if they remain after a reboot.

Probably not in any huge way unless you use the phone a lot in dark places.
For me, I prefer them off. Watching videos at night is much better and I no longer have the light bleed at the bottom corners

How do you turn it off permanently, mine does return after locking the screen.
In the options menu there is an option to force the button backkight off.
Btw- if you uninstall the app, the lights will return after a reboot. Have not tested with the app installed plus reboot.

Thanks man, did that but it return backs to normal after reboot. But anyway I am happy that the light leak is gone.

If we can find the file that this app modifies, maybe we can make it more permanent. Unless that file reverts to stock after a reboot as well.

That would be possible. I really hope a dev looks into this, want to get rid of the annoying light leak forever

I have it in the apps list.
But in settings / security / screen unlock there is no selection like "face unlock".
Do I miss something, how do I use that?

I don't think the TF700 supports face unlock. Don't know why. Sorry. I haven't found any app for it either on stock, or am I just using my shortcuts too much? Mmmmh, should give the app list some TLC, I guess...

I thought I saw that too, but Face Unlock is no way to be found now, so where is it?
Not much of a loss, it's easily deceived, even by a printed picture of yourself.
Maybe they are waiting for the updated face detection. It waits for you to blink your eyes before it actually let's you in. Its suppose to be a work around for the picture thing.

Hate to say it but most likely a hardware issue.
You can RUU to confirm. If it's still occuring after RUU, it's definately the Digitizer failing. Thought I am already fairly certain that it is the digitizer failing.

HIGHLY doubtfull.
Like I said, run an RUU for your carrier, if it works after then good. If not, it's hardware 100% sure.
An RUU will return ALL software to stock including any and all firmwares.

Maybe too much heat broke it. Try RUU back to check if that works. If not you can find the screen set (lcd and digitalizer) for 55$+

So, since there is an XDA version, this is allowed. Of course, if you like the free version, support the dev.

anyways.....
anyone using the app notice the home and mulitask buttons are slightly larger than the back key?
edit: original post updated...
I'm using SoftKeysz and observing some "ghosting" behavior where the "up graphic" ^ overlays the home key, which causes the home key to stop responding. the only fix is a reboot. Anyone else experiencing this behavior and/or have a fix i might try? thanks!
EDIT: Fixed, something related to XBlast or GravityBox options i selected. I thought i had disabled them, but i didn't. I disabled both apps and ghosting went away, will have to see which option (if any) was the causing my problem.

Mine themed, but most of the time one button (in my case the recents)...was huge. and wouldn't correct itself for some reason, even if I used GravityBox to shrink the Navbar. No idea...guess I'll wait for the next update..I really like it though - lots of cool designs on there.

yep, i have same problem , i'm on viper ROM.
The app needs to be compatible with gravitybox.. will report this in the original thread app
This is more of a proof of concept that might be useful to lock the screen.
Does not require root.
HTC's framework detects gestures while the screen is on, this is actually broadcasted to all applications, but the only app that reacts to it is HTC's Media Output (Three finger swipe up or left-right).
This app is both an implementation that reacts to a three finger click to lock the screen, and a dev concept that shows how to react to the gestures.
If you want to use this to lock the phone, just tap with three fingers anywhere after enabling device admin.
Download:
http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/Android/HTCOneM8/
Source:
https://github.com/MohammadAG/HTC-Gesture-Listener
More dev stuff:
If anyone is interested where this happens, it's in services.odex's com.htc.server.gesture package.
This is one of the best hacks I've used for the m8 so far ... Very simple yet tasty ?
Thanks..and keep up the good work

The app is simply a listener, it does not enable anything, in fact, if a three finger gesture is not detected by the system, as far as the system is concerned, the app does not exist (it does not take CPU cycles, or memory, or any resources besides storage for the APK).
Therefore, it's technically impossible for it to cause any battery drain. I have no idea what happened on your phone, but it's likely a coincidence.
With that said, my reply was a bit rude, so apologies for that.

You'll need to enable the app as a Device Policy Manager. You have to open the app once for Android to confirm it wasn't maliciously installed.
