Last night I was using my phone and it rebooted randomly, and when it came back up it got stuck at the AT&T logo. I pulled the battery and restarted several times with no luck. Even left it out overnight and tried again.
I can get the phone into 3e recovery just fine. Will clearing the cache possibly help? What information is on the cache that will be cleared?
I don't have an original charger cable right now, so I can't try download mode. I'm trying to avoid using Odin again, because I would rather not lose the huge amount of new contacts and notes I have in my phone, it would be a major setback.
My phone has also had some issues with a device I/O error, and I haven't been able to back up my phone, so I'm not even sure if download mode would work for me.
Please help!
Edit: As I was about to write that I have had this problem before.... my phone was at the AT&T screen and it magically works again.

I'm sorry if your not able to save all your contacts but the only way to stop your phone from flashing samsung over and over again is to use odin. Or the case could be is that your power button is either stuck or messed up.
My zte awe got messed up so I energy went into recovery mode and cleared cache. My phone was able to boot up after and worked fine until I restarted the phone a few days later. I tried to boot up the police but it wouldn't go so I did the recovery and cleared cache. During the process the phone froze longer than it should have and was unresponsive. I took the battery out and put it back in. The phone never turned on since. Completely unresponsive. My pc still recognizes it but I don't know what to do. Is this a dead phone or can it be fixed.
P.s. I don't think it's a hardware issues as there was no damage to the phone only software.
Any help would be great. Thanks
Hey XDA,
I have a D800 that is totally stock. I have no custom recovery, and have never rooted the device.
A couple days ago I got the notification for an OTA update. I hit the notification, and rebooted the phone. It started the update process. It got through the first step. When it started the second part of the update, a black box popped up, and a code like "ERR 0x04ff" or something like that popped up. The phone rebooted, and got stuck in a boot loop with a "Security Error." The phone will boot up, show the LG logo, then show a slightly different LG logo with "Security Error" underneath it, then reboot and start the process over. I started messing around with the power button and volume keys to see what different modes I could boot it into. Initially I could boot it to the Factory data reset screen, the Hardware Mode Keys screen, and I got it into Download mode once. I didn't have any of the software or files available at the time to do anything with Download mode, so I opted to try a Factory reset. The phone attempted a Factory Reset. The little android with wiggly ears, and the spinny cube thingy popped up for about 4 seconds, and the phone rebooted.
Since trying that initial Factory Reset, I have been unable to get the phone into Download mode. I've tried doing the Factory Reset multiple times to no avail. I have not seen fastboot at all.
At this point, the only thing I can do with the phone is boot it to the Factory Data Reset screen, and to the Hardware Keys Mode screen. It will not do a factory reset. The android pops up for about 1-2 seconds, and the phone reboots, and goes right back to the boot loop with the security error.
I'm at a loss at this point. I've called AT&T, and unfortunately my phone is out of warranty by about 3 weeks. So they can't just mail me a replacement. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't seem to get it to be recognized by my PC, on Windows or Ubuntu. I get the feeling that it's just hard bricked, and there really isn't anything else I can try.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
TL-DR: Totally stock D800, no custom recovery or root. Security Error Boot Loop after OTA attempt. No download mode or fastboot, factory reset is ineffective. Not recognized by PC. What do I do now?

Thanks for the reply. I was about to reply saying my phone wouldn't go into download mode, but then I randomly decided to use a different usb port, and now it went into download mode.
I'll give it a shot now and see what i can do
Ok, It seems I'm back up and running. I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 which re-flashed me to 4.2.2. I'm going to try and upgrade using LG PC Suite from my laptop, and see if I have better luck this time.
Lesson learned, try every USB port when trying to boot into download mode.
Thanks for the help
Guys i want to know whether lg g4 bootloop issue is truely a motherboard problem and if the motherboard is changed to a new one, does the problem also vanishes for forever.
Today I got my bootloop fixed!
After some weeks using Android 6.0 Marshmallow I got my battery empty over night. Next day I tried to power the device on again, no success. It was looping the boot process. First I though it was because of too low battery level, so I went into download mode and charged to 100%. After rebooting with full battery it was still in bootloop, so it was not because low battery...
I tried two days to get on my feet back again using LG Bridge ("Fix update Errors"), trying to get my internal memory copied ("Send_Command.exe") which gave "FAIL" only and to fix that beast trying factory reset, but it was not possible to get into recovery mode. So no success at all. I read about hardware issues and was close to give up.
Then I've found LGUP. First I tried "UPGRADE" using that KDZ-file from the previous attempts with LG Bridge. Two times, no success. Still bootloop. I decided to give up any chances for recovering any data and to go for "REFURBISH" ... YAY, It worked! Bye-bye bootloop! Now I have a fresh working device.
So, if you think it is not a hardware issue (mainboard) you might want to try this. Especially if you've used old apps (from previous Android 5.x times) or if you have deactivated too many pre-installed apps (maybe the LG ones). I think something of that was causing my bootloop and the first reboot because of the empty battery was finally showing the bill for that.

It seems my phone started saying that random general apps were crashing and then i tried to reboot thinking this would solve the problem now my phone wont boot past the verizon screen. Am i really going to have to flash stock to repair this? or is there another way?
Nevermind I wiped and reset to factory then rebooted to safe mode and now it works, but I've lost root and all my files/apps.
