It seems my phone started saying that random general apps were crashing and then i tried to reboot thinking this would solve the problem now my phone wont boot past the verizon screen. Am i really going to have to flash stock to repair this? or is there another way?
Nevermind I wiped and reset to factory then rebooted to safe mode and now it works, but I've lost root and all my files/apps.

So out of nowhere my Incredible started rebooting on a loop. I have the MIUI installed on it and has always worked fine, but now it won't boot.
I plugged the phone into my comp and it won't show up in "my computer" either.
What do you advise I do?
I went to bootloader and tried factory reset on the phone and that won't work either...just keeps looping the boot screen.
anyone know?
So you can still get to the factory reset? After doing this, does it remain in the recovery screen long enough to reflash? Try using your old NANDroid backup and reflashing. Hopefully this will work.
I noticed One+ was a bit slow so I decided first to switch from power save to balanced and it was still going slow so I decided to do a reboot. After the reboot the phone got stuck at the boot animation. I can get into recovery tried a factory reset didnt help. Im wondering if i try flashing the OS if that would work. Plus what would be the best way to do so.
What ROM, Kernel are you using?
Switching from Power Save to Balanced shouldn't cause your phone to be stuck in a boot loop. Something else caused it.
Everything is stock, it was really weird I was considering maybe using adb to flash a stock img (although i have little experience doing that). I tried rebooting again to potentially start this process (this is after a good 5 or 6 reboots and a factory reset) and it started up to the welcome screen. Another side issue it seems like the factory resets for this device only wipe the apps + user data. I know if I was rooted i wouldnt expect the media to be wiped but its stock with the stock rom. I bought it off ebay and when i went to load my stuff i did a factory reset and noticed the previous owners data including call/text logs and contacts were all on the device

If you were to flash a stock image, it would be done in fastboot mode and not adb mode. So is your phone booting yet?
You can always adb sideload a custom ROM and flash that to get your phone to a bootable state again.
The phone booted up after a good 3 hours a factory reset and multiple reboots
So today I woke up and my phone was stuck at the Google logo and would not boot up after having no problems ever. I tried to factory reset the phone using the hammerhead build on Google's website, but it gets stuck at "erasing 'cache'" and my phone hangs at the bootloader when it gets to this point.
I've also tried installing CWM and wiping from there - cache erases fine but erasing data gets errors such as "Error mounting /data."
I don't really know where to go from here so any help?
Figured it out
Ok, never mind, I figured it out. I flashed a Kit-Kat bootloader to solve the freezing problem and manually flashed all the factory files line by line. Booting up well now.
I just picked up this phone yesterday. I started setting it up and found an encryption feature I thought would be useful as I deal with sensitive data. I read the instructions which said that the phone will take an hour or so to complete encryption, and I saw it restart and progress through the progress bar that appeared. It then went onto the Samsung logo and stayed there for about 2 hours. I got concerned and thought it had frozen so I restarted the phone using the 3 keys. Now it just recycles and gets to the Samsung logo and doesn't progress?!
Have you tried to factory reset or the data is not a thing that you can lose.
I had to find out how to factory reset via the boot. I've done that and my phone successfully works again. The issue was I couldn't get into the phone to reset - it was stuck on the Samsung logo, so resetting from boot was the only way (and thankfully it worked)

Glad you fixed it! Be careful next time!
Hello. my phone was bricked yesterday after a month of installing one ui 3.0, this issue also happened also in one ui 2.0, and a month before.
My phone boots up normally just fine but after i enter my passcode in the lockscreen the android is starting popup opens and after that it just freezes and just boos again and repeats the same thing over and over.
I did booted up into recovery mode and wiped my phone's cache and repair apps, but there was no menu for the factory data reset. i don't have any clue this is an software issue or an hardware, i want to recover my phone with ODIN but i don't have my computer here right now.
so in conclusion the problem with my phone is that i can boot it normally but if i type in my passcode and the android is starting.... appears and it just freezes and boots up again.
and i don't know why it doesn't have the factory data reset menu on the recovery mode.
please help.
