Xz lags - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

Hi
I have an almost brand new XZ, lately it's been very laggy. Certain apps take forever to open, and when I close apps, the app schortcuts take forever to load. Apps lags, Snapchat is a nightmare. Sometimes the power button don't work when i try to open my phone, I have to wait a couple minutes before I can use it again. While using Spotify, the whole phone is a nightmare to operate.
I have used ca half of the storage capacity, and I'm runding the latest duality ROM (Could that be my problem?) I had the same problem with the Z2 and the Z5 compact. Is it a general Sony problem?
Ccleaner tells me almost all by RAM memory is being used.
Any help?

First of all, yes a ROM can cause that therefore I recommend going back to stock. 2nd: uninstall all "cleaner/antivirus" apps, Android is not Windows, it doesn't need it and they use a lot of RAM too as well as track activity on your phone, there is a built in smart cleaner in the Sony stock rom if you really want to use something (most recommend turning it off anyway).
As for the other issues, I know spotify has some issues with SD cards (if you're using one), and Snapchat app is just crap it will lag any Android phone nothing you can do about that.
Reg. the RAM usage, unused RAM is wasted RAM, its ok to be near full capacity, its normal as Sony intended since RAM itself is just used mostly for multitasking where you need the apps to be cached so you can get back to them fast instead of reloading them again, normally it doesn't use a lot of battery but sometimes apps get stuck and need to be force closed.
Another issue i noticed specific to this phone is heat; if you live in a hot country where the temperature is normally over 40 c then the phone will lag, nothing you can do about that unfortunately. I've stopped using my XZ due to this, for some reason Sony decided to heavily throttle when the temperature reaches 41, which in my country is the ambient air temp.

Device over-heating :(

Hi
I wanted to discuss and find some solution for it. I have Huawei g610 phone with Android 4.2.1.
I have installed almost 50apps not more. I am quite selective for apps and keep only the ones i like and delete the rest. I have also installed "Clean Master" and keep cleaning the junk. I am not much into games as well, i have some installed like subway surfer, temple run etc. but i don't play it all the time. I am also battery saving person and don't allow the apps running in the background. I long-press the menu button and it shows all the apps running in background. I remove them from background running when not in use. I just keep SMS and Phone app running in background.
When i am using the phone either for any purpose, whether it be the internet-based apps like Skype or viber or whatsapp or the phone itself. When i use it more than 15min constantly the "clean master" gives a notification that device is heating up. I click for it's solution and it frees the memory a little bit. The thing i wanted to ask is, why my phone is heating up so much? is it normal? does it also happen with Samsung phones as well. I accept that Huawei is low priced phone with Quad core and 1GB RAM. Will my keeping use even if it keeps over-heating - damage the CPU in long run?
Please help me out in this regards.

z5 Compact System Memory Usage

Is anyone else commonly seeing "system" consume 1 - 1.2GB of RAM? When restarted, system consumes about 600MB of RAM and the phone runs smoothly. After several hours, the entire phone is almost unusably slow because Android is constantly killing and restarting applications, redrawing takes forever, and it may even take 5 to 10 seconds just to return home.

phone is stock but am using google launcher. most process is consumed by facebook, followed by line.
i did wipe it before and it seemed to get better but also could have been placebo. i haven't tried installing firmware from another region mainly because i'm worried about potential radio issues.
same issues here, but happens after 1 or 2 days. possibly some memory leak bugs. have to restart my phone when it getting lag

Weird changes in terms of speed

I've had my U11 (64/4 variant) for a month now. I'm satisfied with it in general, but I've noticed something really peculiar.
In the first days, my U11 was extremely snappy and fast (opening applications, opening the camera, unlocking the screen, and so forth). However, after using it for a week, I noticed a strange phenomenon: the general speed of my phone was changing all the time. I mean, sometimes, I had to wait approximately 2 seconds for Gmail to load & display my inbox, while sometimes I just tapped on Gmail and it loaded & displayed my inbox almost instantly. (No, Gmail wasn't in the RAM in the latter case...)
It's still happening and I'm not happy about it because I ditched my S7 due to Samsung's tacky and laggy TouchWiz (I heard that it had been renamed, but I don't really care). Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that SenseUI is laggy and tacky because I love it and I haven't even experienced a slight lag since I had this phone, but the unpredictable speed of my phone is irritating a little bit. By the way, the same goes for the camera (stock application): sometimes, it takes quite long for the camera to load & be ready, while sometimes it doesn't even take a second.
More than 90% of the storage is free and more than 50% of the RAM is free most of the time.
What do I do? Shall I perform a factory reset? As I've mentioned, I'm using the stock ROM and I want to do so in the future, too as I've got used to it.
Htc Boost+ app. If you dont have it get it. If you do have it then check the foreground and background restrictions.
If you're using any apps from 3rd parties that control apps and ram, remove them. Android has it's own app killer and boost+ will do the rest according to how you use the phone.
Signal clarity is also a huge player in the speed of today's devices. If you have a weak wifi or cell signal then the phone has to wait for the data transfer so server connections will suffer, hence why you experience intermittent slow loading.
The camera may take a while because of not being in background or if other apps are consuming resources. Also the more you use an app the quicker it should open as android 'should' hold the app in ram, if theres enough room.
Hope this helps clarify.

Thanks for your reply. I had already used the Boost+ before I posted this thread. I deleted a few apps that I hadn't really used, and now I don't have any problems with my phone as far as speed is concerned.

Few Sony Xz problems [ need help]

Hello, members!
I updated my sony about month ago to new android version Oreo (Android 8.0) and at first i was happy that Sony made an update, but when i started to work more with this version day to day i found that there are things that i dont like!
First thing with apps and folders
Apps like Facebook and Massenger all the time show @ app that i have notification (number on the app) and when i open it there is not any notification for me! Apps all the time showing me the same number of notifications on app but there is nothing in it.
Started to search it, maybe somewhere it is - but there is nothing! I deleted apps and install it again - but it show me all the time the same!
I am tired with this thing - i know it is small problem but in my day to day work it is seriously.
Second thing - Guys what we can do with high phone temperature ? Phone is overheating sometimes when i using it and i am not playing games! It getting uncomfortable hot!
Third thing - When phone getting low energy (about 30%) it is automaticly turn on battery saver! Of course phone start to go slow. In setting i can turn off battery saver but it still are slow because i am more than sure that battery saver is still on, but in settings it is off! when i plug charger to phone it starts to work Great!
Can we do something with these things?
P.s. I think it is to many problems for Sony mobile - i was using a lot of Sony phones but about now starting to think change Sony to something else...better!
Hi, I have updated to Oreo as well. Not experiencing the overheating issue. I upgraded to this handset from Galaxy S4 i9507 and that one used to get hot. Maybe try disabling some apps after checking what is using the battery. Maybe you have a sneaky app which is using a lot of CPU.
Generally, this version (second version of Oreo) is a bit slower than Nougat, particularly camera operation. I am seriously considering rooting if I can be sure that DRM and camera will be preserved.
Try factory resetting the device, that tends to solve most of the issues after a big update. Also if your Play services version is 11.7.46 make sure to update to 11.9.51 via apkmirror as the former is confirmed to drain battery.

1. I don't suffer from this issue perhaps try updating your Xperia home launcher
2. The phone does heat up from time to time , all electronics follow the same principle
Electronics will heat up
3. Stamina mode is actually disabled just as it says on the settings, the reason the phone is slow because there is not enough power to be supplied as the demand for performance increases
When power is low your phone struggles to deliver optimal power to performance ratio
To make sure that the phone able to last throughout the day so that you don't miss any calls ,
Performance is decreased in favor for battery runtime

My Ongoing Battle with the G7 Power's Atrocious RAM Management

Hey all, I've had my G7 Power for about 2 years and in the last year or so I have been super frustrated with the handling of background processes, etc.
It can hardly hold a background process. The two worst offenders for me are:
It will kill my music app almost instantly after pausing. This is exceedingly frustrating when an app mutes all other audio and it instantly kills my music.
It will kill my browser when I go to search for a file to upload (for example if I go to upload a PDF to a website I can't because the website has to reload when I come back from finding the file).
In an attempt to solve this I moved from stock to LOS 18.1 and rooted. This was perhaps marginally better, but still overall terrible.
The other day I used this Magisk module to enable the low_ram flag, as well as disabled the Google app (which despite always always hogging RAM also loved to close in the background), which actually kinda solved my problem. It is still not perfect, and I had to find a new weather app, but it's acceptable. HOWEVER, I learned that I cannot use messages for web with this flag on (really Google????), which is kind of a dealbreaker for me.
I happily used stock ROMs on my phones for the last few years and would rather not spend my time making my phone with 3GB of RAM work worse than my older phones that ran MM on 1GB just fine. Any suggestions? Should I go back to Android 9 and never update? I can't even remember if it was better but it seems like it might be.
