CM14.1 nightlies and BlackBerry for work Email (GOOD) - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever since updating to cm14. 1 nightlies and getting on Android 7.1, the app that I use for my work email "Blackberry Work", which was formally GOOD email I think, doesn't work. I login but then it wipes the email data, so it knows some things up. I'm not rooted though.
Maybe there's something in the developer options that I can do to allow it to bypass? Dunno what the log is saying as to why it is wiping email once login.
Any suggestions, workaround? It works okay if I go back to stock android 6 cm13. Is this because it's "officially signed" or whatever?
Thanks!

[Q] yahoo mail issue

I have checked everywhere i can and have found nothing else on this issue.
My wife has a shift and the only email account she has on it is yahoo. When she opens up some of her emails, she can start reading them and then about 10 - 15 seconds later the email disappears. She hits the back button and the email is still there, but when she clicks on it and pulls it up it is blank. I have deleted the account and re-installed it, I have changed the incoming and outgoing servers, and have done hard reboots with no fixes. Any suggestions?
I personally have an evo 4g with no problems.
Thanks
If your rooted, you can try deleting the account. After that boot into Recovery, Wipe Dalvik, wipe Cache, and then Reboot. When it's done rebooting and has settled down. Add the account back on. See if that resolves the issue.
Her phone is not rooted so i can't do that with hers. Thanks for the suggestion.
Could try a hard reset, as a last resort. Not sure if it will help.
My mothers phone is doing the same thing right now, and her phone is rooted.
I did notice a small fix for my mother phone and that was this. I was not able to find a fix for gmail on the mail app.
The stock settings for yahoo email shows as
htc.imap.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 993
htc.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 465
I changed it too: so all i did was cut out the "htc."
imap.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 993
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
ssl 465
me too.
Both my girlfriend and I have this same problem. We both only have one account in the stock mail app and it's Yahoo. I was hoping that rooting and moving to a different ROM would help fix this, but nope.
This happened to me unrooted as well. I am currently running x99's rooted OTA GB release so I'm wondering if it is something within the stock e-mail app. I've tried others before and prefer the integration and features of the stock app. So, if anyone comes up with something let us know.
Word of advice: STOP USING YAHOO MAIL AND SWITCH TO GMAIL.
I'm not saying this to be a troll, ****, or jerk. Yahoo mail is majorly flawed. I highly suggest to get off hotmail, windows live mail, yahoo mail, aol mail and aim.com mail ASAP.
"I'm not saying this to be a troll, ****, or jerk"
Then you won't mind educating me on how Yahoo Mail is majorly flawed. I've been using it since 1997 and have had very little to no complaints about it. Unfortunately I just realized I didn't wipe as well as I could have before flashing x99's ROM so I'm hoping a redo of that will fix my issue. Still doesn't make sense for the non-rooted stock people though.

1) Bad spam filtering - real email gets blocked while spam gets through.
2) Bad email server verification see 1
3) Bad interface
4) Lots of fake accounts, bad account security
5) Yahoo will be bankrupt soon if not bought by another company
6) You're using a Google phone, to use yahoo mail, when you could be using the native Gmail client and not have these issues in the first place, have all your contacts, calendar, and email synced and backed up in the google cloud.
So again what's the point of even bothering?
I recommend signing up for a google account and moving everything over. It's really not that hard or painful. Just connect with Outlook via POP3/IMAP, export to PST, connect to GMAIL, import PST from Yahoo, update all your online accounts until email stops coming in to your yahoo account.

[Q] Exchange and ICS 4.0.3

I have looked all over and can't get a good answer on this, I recently updated my Galaxy s2 Att to Siyah 30.31 v3.2.2 and running Phone-Bricker v2.7, before that was Mystics pride. The problem I am having is setting up Exchange email, I have all the settings set correctly as I did on all prior roms and kernels, but it keeps giving me either a (user name or password) error , or an IOException error if I try and use an exchange email app from the market. NOTHING WILL SET UP. Help please.

+1, I think you should try another app
I have tried almost every email app that is Microsoft exchange compatible that ALL give me an error. I read somewhere else its a known Samsung ICS issue. Most people that HAVE to use exchange are going back to gingerbread:/ that is my last resort.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Might be a Samsung issue but:
I am running ICS 4.0.3 Objection#2 UCLD3 ROM on a Galaxy Note i717.
2 different Exchange accounts, on 2 different server versions: Exchange 2010 and one 2003. Both set up and running flawlessly in the stock email app.
You don't mention what server version you are trying to connect to, 2007 and 2010 do require ssl, and if using a self signed cert you must be able to select "Use any certificate".
I know if that option isn't available it will likely be impossible to connect to either of those server versions with a self signed cert.
I know this doesn't help your issue, but to say it's a blanket Samsung ICS issue would seem to be incorrect.
I am in the same situation, 2 Active Sync accounts: Zarafa Z-Push and Exchange 2003. Zarafa seems to work, but Exchange Account stalls at a certain mail and nothing helps. After I delete the account and re-create, it progresses not to the same mail, but another one and stalls there.
I have tried AOSP from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25004492&postcount=129
replaced the one from my (very great) distro (http://android.doshaska.net/cm9), results the same...
I am very sad, b/c I love my new milestone in every other aspect

[Q] Yahoo login failure

For the past month, I periodically get an error message - "Yahoo login failure"
This only happens on the T-Mobile network, not when I am on wi-fi.
Its not constant but happens often.
I'm running the stock Jelly Bean upgrade.
The error is in the stock Android email client version of Yahoo, not Yahoo's separate app.
Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on the cure?

Lot of people are reporting the same issue. Apparently Yahoo has disabled access via 3rd party mail apps to promote their own mail client. They deny connections coming from mobile internet ISPs.

Thanks for clarifying that G. Its been driving me nuts. There's no way I'm adding a new app to my system, just to perform the work of built in email apps.
Especially with all the hassles users are reporting. I use Yahoo email a lot, but can easily switch over to Gmail in a heartbeat. Maybe I'll set Gmail to check
my yahoo email. Has anyone done this? Is this a decent work around.
Yahoo, if you are reading this, you are going to lose not gain users. There are too many better options.
You are becoming like "brain freeze" Nobody wants you.

Well I seem to be able to use the built in mail client for Yahoo if I am on wifi. its only when I am using the T-Mobile network that I cannot log in to Yahoo.
Change the APN. It worked for me.

CM13 + Gapps Exchange not working anymore

I have a oneplus one that perfectly worked with our exchange server (allways used the nano gapps).
Now on cm13 with android 6.0.1 there is no AOSP Exchange Connector anymore so no chance to use the open source version in companys anymore (or am I missing something?).
To be able to still use the phone I installed the Gapps mini package from opengapps.org cause there is an Exchange entegration replacement by Google in there.
Sadly this is indeed an integration of the exchange funcionality into the gmail app - which is an disaster from an data security and data protection point of view, but nevertheless i tired that one and the mail sync works out of the box BUT no callendar or contacts sync anymore.
So my question - does anyone of you folks have an idea, how to get back tha aosp exchange integration?
Regards...
So I used an old Gapps 6.0.1 package - not the newest ones from opengapps.org - and finally the "normal" exchange integration is back again and working.
So there seems indeed to be an makeover of the exchange integration - thats is not working anymore in the current gapps builds.

Hey, same symptom - here's what worked: Although the account is now under "Accounts" - "Exchange", there is another setting that must be set for synching Calender and Contacts with an Exchange server: "Apps" - "GMail" - "Permissions" must be set to "Calender and Contacts".
I probably ran into the same problem as you saying "Nooo, I won't give GMail any permissions, since I am not using GMail service or client anyway."
Hope this helps many people... I spent some time with this!
Best,
Armin
For the records: CM13 Nightly some days old, open_gapps-arm-6.0-mini-20160702, com.google.android.gm.exchange_6.4.123892212.release-508255_minAPI19(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
Cause it is working so flawless for a long time now i have to say that the last version of opengapps that works flawless on a couple of phones here in our company with a exchange connector that doesn't give "skynet" no i meant "google" the permission to sync contacts and calendar, is this one you can still download from opengapps:
open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20151124.zip
I am a bit afraid of what happens when android 7 is released...

Poweramp Wont Recognise e-mail

Hello,
I'm having trouble getting the paid for version of Poweramp to recognise my email address for license verification. I've sent three messages through the Get Support function in the app and I haven't had a single reply in 6 days. I've tried posting on the Poweramp forum but all new users need to be cleared by admin before they can post and after four days I still can't get on there.
I know this is probably something only the dev can help with but as I'm getting no response, I'm hoping someone on here can help. Here is the message I sent to Support:
I’ve purchased the app, my e-mail address is showing in accounts but I'm still getting the ‘No such account on device’ message.
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling countless times but I'm getting nowhere.
I’m running CM12.1 (Android 5.1.1) on Galaxy S2
My e-mail address is POP3, on my device correctly and working as it should.
Poweramp version is Website and app installed is Poweramp-2.0.10-build-582-uni.apk
What am I doing wrong?
