Note 5 on Canadian GSM network - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

I am in Canada on Rogers/Fido network. I bought a Sprint note 5, it works OK in my house but loses signals at various other locations. is there any way this could be fixed?

Short answer: nope.
Longer answer: You probably already know that the N920P supports only some of the LTE bands in use in Canada, specifically for Fido/Rogers it's only one of them. In practice, having used both an N920P and a N920W8 on Fido, while the W8 shows a way better signal most of the time, when the cell is congested it doesn't really feel any different. I don't know why this is exactly, but as an example - on the train platforms in Union Station, the Sprint phone would show no connection/poor connection and the Canadian phone would show a good connection. On either phone, transfer speeds are reduced to a trickle.
P.S. if you don't already have it, Package Disabler Pro can get rid of the stupid Sprint activation screen every time you power cycle the phone

Nexus 5 on Sprint Network

Can someone confirm if you could receive a Spark signal from Sprint? I am in Chicago area under Spark coverage but my nexus 5 still running on 4G LTE band 25 even I set priority to band 41. I called Sprint and I was told that I need to wait for update from Google to be able to get Nexus 5 work with Sprint Spark. is it true while Sprint is selling Nexus 5 on their site? I am thinking about returning the phone back to Google.
I am in NYC which also has Spark and I don't get those speeds or bands either. I have enabled them in the phone but always connect to the stadard band.
From what I read about Spark, there is a "Spark" network icon similar to LTE on devices that support it when they are on Spark. So it looks like we will need an update for this to work even though we have enabled the bands. Sprint has said that the Nexus 5 and LG G2 will get the update for Spark in 2014, lets just hope they mean January....
Thanks. Will wait to have another try before leaving Sprint.I hope Sprint spark is faster than T-mobile HPSA+.
There is Sprint LTE in my area, but my Nexus will not connect.
However, if I enable LTE-Only mode via the dialer menu:
*#*#4636#*#*
Then it connects to LTE.
I believe this is related to the issue described here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/...-due-to-circuit-switched-fallback-technology/
The Nexus 5 only has a single shared LTE/CDMA radio... So if the Sprint LTE tower doesn't support the new CDMA fallback (or if it's not enabled) then your N5 will ignore the LTE signal.
So you can try forcing LTE to make sure it works, but doing so will cut off your SMS/MMS/Voice access.
At least until the fallback is working properly in your area.
It's two fold. The firmware on the LG G2 and Nexus 5 is incredibly picky if you do by chance get a B41 connection. If it even sniffs a B25 connection then you will absolutely not get the B41 even if it's stronger. On the other hand, if you do get a B41 connection you need to keep an active data session or it'll boot you off in a few seconds. There is also ==the eCSFB issues that affect all sprint spark devices.
The second thing is that the Clearwire network (aka spark network) is very unpredictable. Some sites that are confirmed and known to be live for Band 41 refuses to allow connections from cell devices but allows hotspots while others allow certain cell devices and some all devices. YMMV.

Verizon Galaxy Note 5 on Reliance Network in India?

I have a Galaxy Note 5 from Verizon and will be going to India soon. Is there any way to get this phone to work with Reliance which is a CDMA network in India? I'm moving, so I'm going to disconnect Verizon when I leave.
No idea
According to this website, yes:
http://willmyphonework.net/
Verizon phones are not SIM/carrier locked, so as long as you settle up with them (so they don't blacklist your device's IMEI), you should be able to take it to pretty much any carrier, whether it's CDMA or GSM.
You may or may not get a 4G data connection depending on what the carrier supports, but phone calls & texts should work with no difficulty. For instance, popping an AT&T SIM card in a Verizon Note 5 will get you phone calls, text messages, and limited 4G support (in my area I can only get it to connect to HSPA+).
You may need to manually program in the appropriate APN settings for the carrier you're trying to use it on.

[Q] SM-G995FD on Freedom Mobile LTE

I have been trying to get my LTE working on my Samsung S8+ SM-G955FD with Freedom mobile. I have updated the CSC to XAC and GLW from the development forums and the phone will not connect to LTE at all. However flashing it to tmobiles CSC I was able to get LTE as it uses the same band 66. I initially got LTE by selecting the network operator "Home" once I lose connection from LTE to 4G it will not automatically reconnect back to LTE unless I select the network operator again. Any suggestions on fixing this?
Same issue with Reliance JIO (India) using VO LTE. Seems the phone does not support it either (the 6GB Ram Model)
up!
my 3g does work but lte not always!
I found this article around flashing csc, it seems like it's proven to work when they are the same model eg both g950w.
Keywords from the article since I'm too new a member to link directly. oneplus-5-other-unlocked-band-66-devices-may-be-incompatible-freedom

I would like to ask if you rooted your phone and changed the CSC as per instructions given in the Droidview website?
If you did, and the results were not satisfactory, then you would have tripped Knox, but gained little.
I am in the same situation, and am considering rooting the phone to try the method in Droidview.
Thanks.
I got s8+ from freedom and trust me I absolutely hate their reception. On a drive home or from I get interruptions of voice call for 5+min (highway drive) in some areas. Anywhere in US call reception is hit or miss. In Canada isnt always great other. Now for LTE well, it ok if you catch LTE signal. Allot of the times im on 4g. Speed are very slow. If im lucky I get LTE. So i don't know whether its the service or the phone but im not happy. I'll pay of this phone and move back to FIDO or on US network. Freedom is garbage to me. Im all over the city, country and north america - freedom isnt great for me. Fido was excellent but i didnt get any credit on the phones, in US fido rates are very high.

Has anyone unlocked other LTE bands on their Note 6 PRO?

Has anyone attempted to unlock additional LTE bands after root?
I love this phone but i'm on AT&T and don't get LTE in many places I used to get. I think I need LTE band 12 and 17.
I'm referring to the method below:

I have the same question.
Would like to know if someone enabled Band 28.
Regards,
I think this is not possible. Because in my country, we need band 20, and many china devices does not have that band. Many people are working on that (enabling band 20) for many years. till this time I've never seen anyone can use it.
Some people advertised that they can open band 20 and can use it. But, I've tested that devices. It (band20) seems opened, but never connected to cell network. This means, if you open it, it will be opened only in software level, not hardware level.
I see with my eyes,
there were 2 same phones 1 has band20 naturally, the other one china device has not naturally band20 but seller claimed opened it later.
The first phone connects and works normally with band20(internet connection with 25Mbs, and 4g cell network connection), but the second one sometimes seems connected, sometimes can not connect but never connected to internet and cell network means not worked normally.
As I first say, people always works on this here, but never seen a solution...
any updates on this?
I might have to sell this phone or switch to TMobile. AT&T's 4G without LTE is really slow.

Galaxy S8 Supports All Available Lockal Bands But No 2G

Hi. I got a BoostMobile Unlocked Galaxy S8 off Ebay. It supports all available 6 bands (two bands for each 'generation'). Immediately after first use I realized something was wrong with the signal reception. Long story short, it wont connect to 2G network. I am really skillful with technology and I tried every possible way to test what I am declaring right now. The thing is, when 3g signal is weak, phone says emergency calls only. 3G and LTE are ok specially outside. I was adviced to replace the Motherboard. Do you guys think that is the only way to remedy this issue? FYI i flashed the firware with various carriers but I finally sicked to unlocked one(U1).
