I have updated my honor 6x to EMUI 5.0 via OTA and since then i am unable to see the HD symbol in the status bar for HD voice calling. I am unable to use JIO sim with my device. Now I am thinking of rooting my device but I am not sure that will the VOLTE feature will work with some custom ROM like ressurection remix or cygnogenOS. My phone has a dual camera so am I be able to use the functionality of that dual lens after rooting and installing a custom ROM.

I'm running on nougat as well. No issue with volte. Did you check the settings if 4G is enabled.. try removing the SIM and restart again. It's impossible for volte to not function if it was updated via the updater .

Did you factory reset your phone? Try once. You can flash the b320 full firmware to go to b320 it should work without rollback package

You can try this app to get the new firmwares for your phone model.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.huaweifirmwarefinder
Since you are on EMUI4.0. Update to 4.1 B3XX or which ever next version is applicable for your phone model. Then you will get the system update to nougat immediately.
For example. I was on L29C432B180. I didn't get the nougat update then and I didn't get any update for 4.1 either. Once I updated it to L29C432B190 THEN I got the system update to B560.
Similarly for you, update to EMUI 4.1 using dload method first. Then switch on the wifi and see if you are able to get the system update to B563 or whichever version is applicable for your model.
So you can use firmware finder to download the EMUI4.1 version from the list you have. Download the full package. It is always better. After download, check the md5, unpack it , then push it to dload folder - > all these options are available in firmware finder app. once you are done with all these steps. Switch off the phone - > press volume + , Volume - and Power button at the same time. It will start updating.
Once that is done you are in EMUI4.1. Now switch on the wifi -you should get the system update to nougat.
Check this thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/l29-c636b563-ota-firmware-finder-t3563403
Try and see if this works for you. Hope you found this information useful. :good::good::good::good:
Hi
I also bought my Mate 8 last week. I am also in Australia. I have just updated it to 7.0 minutes ago.
Go to settings/update
click on menu
then download latest package.
It downloaded L09C636B211 for me. update to that version.
After rebooting I went to check update again and L09C636B563 was available.
buggy
My phone did an OTA update to nougat build B563 last week and I've had nothing but problems.
Random volume drops, sound may as well be off. Miss calls & notifications. Only a reboot fixes the volume.
Also it seems .M4A files are no longer supported?
The music app will play them but no sound.
The Chinese variants are up to build 573 or higher.
I think an update/fix might be a long way off?
Hi, I recently downgraded from Android 7.0 to 6.0 on my Honor 8 device using firmware package as I faced severe battery drain issues with 7.0 (I tried the rollback package but it didn't work for me). I'm wondering if I'll get the future updates to 7.0 via OTA or should I download manually and install?

If I was you I would make sure that you are registered via your honor ID &, Hicare and wait see if you get the ota. I can't think of any reason why you won't get it.
I have only updated via official OTA's and I have had no issues with battery life.
My phone is very stable and the battery lasts all day what ever I'm doing no problem.
It would be interesting to see how many of the folks that are having issues have rooted Thier phone's or used the FF etc.
When you do get the update install the update then factory reset them give your phone a week to settle and learn your usage habits
Hi there ,
I`m new in on this kind of stuff and i have 1 problem.
My device is Huawei mate 8 , and last week i unlock bootloader and rooted with magisk.
After that i flash the Kangvip [Custom Rom] Huawei Mate 8 - NXT-L29C432B582 -Custom System Update - ("V.6"), but did not have google play, when i try to unnistall some apps the settings close, fingerprint not working so i decide to send my device to service .
Before flashing the Kangvip i have Android 7 with emui 5.0.1.
When i pick up my device from service it came with android 6 and emui 4 and some bugs, themes dont work and i`m missing emui 5 with android 7.
I try to update via settings/update but no updates there, try with hicare but no rezults there .
So i`m stuck on emui 4.
Is there any way to go back on emui 5 ?

Its okayyy! My issue has been resolved lol i just had to dload a b330 firmware then the rest of the ota came flooding in ??
And I'm back again! Now with the aged old emui 5 problem, anyone found a way to disable auto dimming on chrome? Or forced it to run on Performance mode like we could back in emui 4? The chrome dimming doesn't really bother me too much but it happens in the middle of my Rules Of Survivor matches and starts lagging while dimmed. That's hella annoying ? really dont want all these effort of updating to emui 5 to go a waste n end up going back go 4.1 ??
Hai, i'm a new user of Honor 8. Recently my H8 updated to EMUI 5.0 Nougat with code number FRD-L19C432B405. And there is some problems appear after the update:

You do factory reset?
Do a factory reset. If doesn't work flash Oreo via HiSuite
Hi. I recently unlocked and debranded my Honor 6x BLN-21 (European) to BLN-22 (Indian) in order to upgrade to emui 8. I'll just get to the point: I tried flashing OpenKirin's OmniRom and lineage os. Everything worked, and I mean EVERYTHING, except mobile data. I can turn it on and off but it's like it's only working on the UI side: it shows LTE under it but when I try to open the playstore or a chrome tab it's just not there.
Other details are:
- the sim is recognized, i can send messages and call.
- i can connect to wifi
- i tried manually searching for networks since it showed IWIND instead of FASTWEB, but i couldn't find it. I could only find IWIND, Vodafone, 3 and a few others... Even though in the top navbar it correctly says FASTWEB, which is my courier... So there's that.
- I'm from Italy
- I tried lineage os 17.1 (the one from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/development/rom-10-lineageos-17-1-honor-6x-t4064803 ) and everything worked, but since i want to install nethunter , it was incompatible so i had issues with ADB. (Note that i did NOT install nethuner on Openkirin's version of the os in order to test it)
Please does anybody know how to fix this? Is there a patch or something I missed?
Thanks.
Nobody?

Yes, it's true, especially if you are an European.
Our model (bln-l21) does not have the update to emui 8.0 unlike chinese or india.
If you want to install a custom rom on it, you need to have emui 8.0.
To do it, you must debrand it to india or chinese.
If you do it, you can no longer receive certain frequencies 3g / 4g (not the same bands in theses countries).
Never again huawei for me...
